Everything went as smooth as possible. Getting quotes was super easy, even when we wanted to make changes, Josh was super accommodating and got pricing and renderings back to us in a very timely fashion. Have already told my friends and family about their work. Would definitely go back to them in the future.

Josh was at our house taking deck measurements within a day or two after the show ended. We had a rambler with existing curb edging and rock landscaping that the deck needed to be built around and blended with. The design he made was great, it works seamlessly with our landscaping. Josh was responsive throughout the busy summer and giving us updates as to the timeline we could expect them to begin construction. It was finished quickly, and we can't wait to use our beautiful new deck! I've already suggested him to others in the neighborhood.

Initially, all seemed to go fine. The decks were built on time and looked good at first. Then the lighted posts went out - not a big deal to us. We had an electrician come out and fix the errors in the wiring. What was most alarming was the poor quality of the construction in terms of my number one priority - SAFETY. The 2nd story deck was supported by three 6x6in posts. They were supposed to have been sunk in concrete. That was what we were told would happen (and what our contract said). HOWEVER, instead the posts were set on top of concrete block with no type of fixation. The result? When we dug around the posts one year later, we discovered that all three posts had shifted nearly completely off of the blocks and were mostly just hanging with no support (see photos). I feel sick every time I think about it now. What kind of professional deck builder would EVER do that? This appeared to have been an ill advised shortcut and could have cost lives. It's simply inexcusable.

Josh was easy to communicate with and didn't mind pricing out various options for me. He was extremely responsive and answered all of my questions - and he kept me updated about the status of our project. As soon as we were up on the schedule, the entire job was completed in two days!

the crew was wonderful...tore down and hauled away the old deck and very quickly put up a new deck.  The only thing that slowed down the completion was the rain.  As soon as the rain stopped the guys were back and finished up the railing and trim.  Josh was great to work with from the start.  We met him at a Home and Garden show this spring and with first impression we knew we wanted to work with him.  He came prepared to tell us what size deck we could put up to stay within the budget we had set and was able to give us ball park figures for both cedar decking and low maintenance decking.  Within two weeks we had a design and the actual estimate.  We made some minor changes and we were on the schedule for spring.  Very quick responses through this process.  Josh is honest and hard working and has built a great company!  i would recommend this company to anyone looking to upgrade what they have or build new!

The deck looks awesome.They did an excellent job and completed the project in a timely fashion. I am very happy with how if turned out. The quality of the work is outstanding. And it was completed at a very affordable price. Josh and his team are very professional and responsive to making sure our needs were totally met and that we were completely satisfied with the final product.  There was excellent communication throughout the entire process which kept us informed of the progress being made.  Josh also brought to our attention a major safety issue regarding work completed by a previous contractor which he fixed and made sure everything was up to current code.  It was very reassuring to us that our project was done right and that it is now safe. I would highly recommend FM Home & Patio to anyone looking for quality construction work at an affordable price.  I will not hesitate to use FM Home & Patio for any future construction work I may need done.

FM Home and Patio was great to work with. Josh answered all all questions and was so nice. He and his staff were very professional and easy to work with. It was a pleasure working with them. We met Josh a year ago at the Home & Garden Show and talked to him about building a deck on our new home. We were interested in using composite materials and steel cabling. Josh helped us come up with a design and a plan, and compared with other deck builders in the community he was very reasonably priced. We were unable to build last year, but Josh kept in contact with us and assured us we'd be one of the first on his list in the spring.  <br /> True to his word, as soon as it warmed up, FM Home & Patio was at out house and the deck went up in three days. The workers were all very professional, cleaned up after themselves and built a quality product. It's obvious they take great pride in what they do. We absolutely love our new deck and have had many compliments from our neighbors and friends. The steel cables give it a high tech look and don't obscure our view of the pond in the back of our house.  <br /> FM Home & Patio is a great company. I am really happy I went with this company. Josh was very nice to work with. He was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to come to our place to discuss our options. When they were here to work they were right on time and did the entire deck in one day. We are extremely happy with the quality of the work they did for us. Josh and his crew did a fantastic job. When I initially emailed him about getting a bid, he was over the same day and had a bid together the next business day. The craftsmanship is excellent and I can't say enough about him and his company. Did a great job! Would definitely use him again! <br /> <br /> Also, the job was completed in less than 1 day! I made one phone call; Josh Amundson answered immediately.  I told him what was needed; he came out the next day, evaluated what we wanted and what needed to be done, and gave us an estimate of cost.  He told us that it would be 8-10 weeks before it could be done, which was satisfctory with us.  It was nearly 10 weeks when he called and gave us a definite date.  They took care of obtainng all permits and pre-work whic would have been a lot of work for us.  His crew arrived, tore down the deck one day and built the new deck the following day.  Everything was cleaned up and hauled out when they were done, including all the old lumber from the pevious deck.  The workmanship was beyond what we had expected.  The stairway was far more stable and secure than what we had before, and the railing around the deck is so neat and strudy.  Every rail was checked with a level.  The workers were pleasant when we approached them and very competent.  They went about their job and asked for nothing from us.  Our new deck is done on time, as promised.  We are so pleased!  <br /> I would not have found FM Home and Patio were it not for Angie's list, so, thank you Angie's list for the reference! <br />
