I have a fence along the side of my property. It's approximately 100 ft. in length. The green vinyl privacy covering was rotted and needed to be replaced. Foothill Fence contracted the work out to another firm, who did a good job. I believe I could have gotten a better deal for the service had I gone directly to the firm that did the work, but I went ahead anyway. Foothill Fence was very professional and friendly, and the job was done to my satisfaction.

The estimate and price to do the job went well. They had three men to install the fence over two and a half days. They knew what they were doing , however, I had to inspect each board and made them replace 12 panels due to cracks or knots that were falling apart. The wood they used had knots, multiple colors including a pale wood color and clumps of sawdust on some pieces. I would recommend that the owner have actual pieces of wood to show you the different qualities available. Had I been given a choice by seeing actual samples, I would have chosen a higher quality of wood. I now have to pay another vendor to clean up the sawdust and add a coat of sealant to protect the wood long term from rain and watering and to help the fence look a bit more finished than just raw wood.

The work was completed in two days. It took two days instead of one day partially due to the fact that one of the gate posts had to be set in concrete and needed to dry before wood fencing boards could be attached. The new gates seem to be better built and are using stronger hardware than the previous gates had used. As the installation project progressed the two installers asked questions regarding the details of the fence and how we preferred the details to be done. So it appeared as if they genuinely wanted to do a good job and have us satisfied when the job was completed. Even though some heat records in the area were broken during those days they continued working on the project until completion.

Carl responded quickly to our request and provided a detailed quote. The job started a couple days late due to weather but was completed almost on time. There were a couple issues regarding post placement, completing a section of fence and some crushed plants. These were quickly resolved with no complaints. The fence ended up looking great and we could not be happier. Would recommend.

They are wrapping up the work today. They have done a great job so far, and would defiantly recommend. I was recommended to them by a friend.

We were very pleased with the entire project.  Carl came out promptly to review the job, and he was the only contractor familiar with the permit process in our city, La Canada.  Two other contractors did not even know that the project required a permit. <br>Carl's quote also was considerably better than two other quotes we received.  When it came time to obtain the permit, I walked it in to save time and money, but Carl provided me with good plans and all the information I needed and when there were a few questions that came up Carl was very responsive and helpful.  At the beginning of the actual work, which was scheduled promptly once I had the permit, Carl came out to the house with his two employees who did the work, Ron and Martine.  We went over the job, which required some fine-tuning to insure that the fence precisely followed the property line, and also to work around city requirements that the footings not be within a certain distance of a protected sycamore tree.  Ron and Martine then built the fence precisely as requested, and also built the redwood utility box on the side of my house, which came out very nicely too.  Both Ron and Martine are very good guys, easy to communicate with and professional.  They know what they are doing.  So this was a very good experience start to finish: the price was fair, and the work was done in a timely, professional manner.  I would recommend Foothill Fence without reservation to anyone, and definitely would hire them again. <br> <br>

The representative, Ron, arrived at appointed time, was professional and answered all my questions, price was competitive. The crew arrived on time, worked very hard, since my property is a hillside, in spite of the unforgiving hot weather. The fence is exactly as expected and the crew did a great job of cleaning up. They were courteous and professional. <br />

Foothill Fence installed a 100' vinyl privacy fence and gate in our backyard, and we could not be happier.  The quality is top-notch and it looks great!  Rob was the best from start to finish.  He initially gave us a quote in August 2014.  We had a dispute with our neighbor that took a year to resolve, and Rob still honored the quote he gave us.  The workers were professional and courteous.  Not one piece of scrap or material was left behind.  Great job everyone at Foothill Fence! <br />

I was in a real jam:  My new dog learned how to escape from my yard by climbing over my six-foot cinderblock wall.  My previous dog had lived with me 11 years and never figured out how to do that.  Needless to say, I couldn't let my (new) dog out into the yard unattended until the wall got a 4' fence extender put on top of it.   <br /> I called Foothill Fence and they came out that Saturday to do the work.  They did a great job, and they used screws to hold the fence together.  Rigo's, another fence contractor I have used, uses nails, an inferior way to build a fence (or anything else).   <br /> I am thrilled with the work done by Foothill Fence.  The extension looks nice and it did the trick-- the dog stays on my side of the fence. <br />

I contacted FootHill Fence based on Angie's List reviews, and a friend's referral. Brian responded promptly and came out to give us an estimate. We actually had him give us several versions of an estimate: What if we replace this, but not that? How much for wood, and how much for vinyl? Based on his verbal estimates, we narrowed down what we wanted to do to a couple of options. He measured everything, and emailed us a detailed estimate with those options. <br /> We were surprised to find out that we could afford to replace our old, rotten wood picket fence with a vinyl one. We expected the cost of vinyl to be too high. Brian never pressured us into something beyond our budget, or something we didn't really need. In fact, he suggested that they just re-nail a fence on one side of our house because he said the wood was still sound. And on the other side of our back yard, the neighbor has a masonry fence, and we had a wood fence on our side that was old and falling down. Brian suggested that we didn't really need a fence on that side, because of the neighbor's fence, significantly saving us money on the backyard. He was always very nice, and I felt he was honest and trustworthy. <br /> The workers came promptly every day, were polite, and cleaned up after themselves. They did the work at a good pace. The only hiccup was that the vinyl fence materials that were delivered were wrong, and they had to re-order them. But that was probably not Foothill's fault, and they fixed the problem right away. <br /> Brian was very kind the whole time, and patiently answered my calls and emails when I had a question or concern. The end product looks very nice! It makes such a difference to the look of our house, both the front and back yards. If we ever need more fence work done, we will use FootHill Fence. <br />
