My home in Parker had an approximately 2000 foot gravel / re-cycled asphalt driveway that was in bad need of replacement.  Many rain storms and run-off from many snow storms over a ten-year period had greatly eroded most of my driveway.  I contacted six asphalt paving companies to determine the most cost effective way to restore or replace my washed-out badly rutted driveway. Each paving company sent an estimator to make an on-site evaluation and give a written proposal.  Their estimates for the area in sq ft to be paved and the number of tons of asphalt they would apply for a given thickness of compressed asphalt were all within 5% of each other.  Having enough reliable data from independent sources I was confident of the size of my project.  The major differences in proposals were the recommended final thickness of asphalt and how the paver would deal with water control.  A couple estimators recommended 2-inch compressed asphalt, a couple said 3-inches would be fine and one estimator said I should have a good 4-inches of asphalt after compression with a roller.  Red Anderson who estimated my project for Foothills Paving visited my property several times when I asked him for more details.  I had never been involved with asphalt paving and so Red had to first educate me about what needed to be done if the asphalt paving were intended to last beyond the normal one-year warranty period.  He convinced me my biggest problem was to establish control of storm water runoff .  Red proposed a culvert under the most eroded length of my driveway and drains as the best way to preserve the new driveway.  He recommended 3 inches compressed asphalt for all of my driveway.  I decided to go with Foothills Paving, Red's company, because of his thoroughness in his explanations and his method to deal with water issues.  He didn't quote me the lowest price or tell me what he thought I wanted to hear.  He convinced me his company would give me a quality driveway.   On the day before the work began he brought the paving supervisor, "Eddy", to meet me and prepare for the work.  Eddy and his team arrived early on the scheduled day and stayed until early evening to complete the work in one day so that I ended with a seamless driveway surface and no "cold joints".  I would have had at least one cold joint if  Eddy hadn't organized his team as effectively as he did.  I'm very pleased with the work Foothills performed and especially for the culvert they installed to control water runoff.  Erosion should not be an issue to solve again in the near future.  I got what I paid for. I highly recommend this company. <br />

The driveway looked worn-out and past due for repair. This company did an excellent job of crackfilling and sealcoating to make the driveway look great.
