I’m not normally one to complain but I feel we have been taken advantage of and I feel this needs to be put out there. We hired Foothills Property Management to seed 8,500 sq.ft. of our yard. Job included: sod prep (which is stripping what sod is there, bringing in and spreading clean topsoil, seeding, plus reseeding and fertilizing if needed). Seeding job was done the day before the huge storm that came through Gansevoort/Glens Falls area on a Friday which included a tornado. Basically, the storm brought heavy rain and strong winds that washed away the seed. Being respectful and not wanting to bother this person on the weekend we waited until Monday to contact this person and politely ask if he could come look at our yard because it looks like the storm washed the grass seed away and it will need to be reseeded. Numerous times this person stated he would be stopping by and every time was a NO SHOW. This went on for a month and a half. After multiple calls and text this person finally stopped by the day before he was leaving for a 2-week vacation. To this day, nothing has been done. In our opinion this is what we were left with ( A MESS!) 1. The topsoil that was brought in was tainted with glass, plastic, pottery that this person spread all over our yard. We are still picking shards of glass out of the soil. Which isn’t great conditions for a dog to be walking on. Check the picture out of what we have found thus far. 2. Jim had to clean up 7-8 wheelbarrel’s full of leftover patches of our old sod AND leveled the ground in many areas. 3.Two garden landscaping islands were taken out, yes run over, demolished. 4. Two small trees knocked over by his bob cat that were never cleaned up and taken away. We had to take them down. 5. A no show when he says he will come over to look at the yard many times over. 6. It doesn’t look like 8,500 sq. ft., that we paid for, was seeded, by our estimate it is more like 6,700 sq. ft. This person stated that he would reseed/fertilize as many times as necessary. I don’t own a property management business but, common sense says if this was taken care of right after the big storm, we would have more grass than weeds. As of today we are 8 weeks after the initial work. We have continued to water because we didn’t want this person to blame the “NO GRASS situation” on lack of water. There is not a spot of pure good grass anywhere, only weeds AND GLASS! This business doesn’t know what customer service is. As things are right now, I would NEVER recommend this company to any friends or family. FOOTHILLS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO LEARN THAT A BUSINESS IS THERE FOR THE CUSTOMERS, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
Response from Foothill's Property Management
"[Member Name Removed], Thank you for your constructed criticism. We have pictures and video of all work performed as stated prior in previous conversations. We attempted to convince you and your husband into Sod and irrigation many times. You guys unfortunately chose Top soil and grass seed, which we told you ahead of time we would not warranty. Many times, especially in our area local contractors export all permeable topsoil and back fill with trash, glass, street sweeper debris, sand, stumps etc to fill in the holes and voids surrounding new construction. We imported freshly screened topsoil from a very reputable manufacturer locally. The debris you found was pre existing in your lawn from original construction. We unfortunately can not predict weather patterns, nor do we warranty seed. Period. this was all explained to you and Jim multiple times throughout the process. We cut the grade down 4 inches which could be the reason for exposure of said debris. the Grass seed that we applied (over 8500 square feet) and, 80 pounds of Kentucky 31. K31 is a weed and rye based seed which spreads through crabgrass. Again, we overseeded the entire property. top dressed with 40 yards of topsoil, worked it into the existing sand. We even left you an additional 60 pounds of seed for future instances requiring more seed. With your multiple postings to Facebook, claiming false information to conform to your personal narrative we extended our condolences and offered to come back and re seed and fertilize the property. With screen shots to prove that conversation. You chose to turn down our offer of mitigation and we have since closed the complaint. We are politely requesting you cease and desist your claims against us now. Again, our sincerest apologies to you for your being unsatisfied."

It was very good. They also did snow removal over the winter. They cleared the driveway and that was excellent as well.

He fertilized my lawn 2 weeks ago. He's very good. He plows for me during winter. He does what he says he will do. You can depend on him. He created a beautiful mound and put on a mulch and big rocks. I recommend him. He's a nice young man. He's very courteous. He is willing to work with you.
