Nick and team were extremely helpful, informative, responsive and did exactly what they said they were going to do (and even better when they said they were going to do it). Nick was very reachable via email and was more than willing to help. I hope to never need a foundation expert again, but if I do I know that I would definitely have them do the work.

It was good. I liked the assessment process. he came out took pictures, looked at perimeter of the house and foundation. He then contacted me back with an estimate. It took a whole for him to be able to pin point an appointment with me. I did think it was a little pricey.

I emailed Nick on Oct 13, 2014. The correspondence was copied below.
In summary, Nick was not able to get the permit from township. Also, Nick mentioned in the email that I was the one who delayed the mud room construction.
While we were waiting from February to June 2014, I mentioned by email to Nick that my wife and I were interested in changing the plan and how much the additional cost would be. Nick and I talked about it roughly when he came to my house on July, but he never gave me additional cost estimate or contract amendment.
Details are shown in the emails:
foundationexperts@comcast.net Oct 14to me
Frankly, I am surprised.
I do not support any credit for the failure of your township to approved the drawings. In fact, the person that constantly sent the drawings back was fired from West Windsor. She is gone! So, that is not being credited. I was there ten times and each time it was nonsense. Constantly I asked you for change. When I came with Andriy on a Friday evening you gave us 5 minutes in the garage. You have the drawings and our agreement to modify them.
This was a favor for you. So, I will address the other items later but I will not be taken advantage of. You delayed our requests constantly.
Again, your township people failed you. My engineers are far more advanced than that irresponsible office. Nick
From: "my name" <my email>
To: "foundationexperts" <foundationexperts@comcast.net>
Sent: Monday, October 13, 2014 5:02:18 PM
Subject: Re: Need floor boards back
Nick,
Can you tell me when the remainder of the work will be done? Also, how are we going to settle the $2000 down payment that we gave for the mudroom and the $850 for the mudroom drawings which are of no use to us because they were never approved by the township. I do know we still owe you $1000 for the drywell work.
Work still needed to be completed:
(1) installation of steel bars on basement wall
(2) mudroom needs to be covered as it is unsafe just left open
I would like to have everything settled in the next two weeks.

"[member name removed] has totally misrepresented the truth. His way to get out of paying for several thousand dollars of additional work is to make up false statements to harm our company in an attempt that he will be relieved of his obligations. [member name removed] tried to encourage Foundation Experts to ignore rotted wood under asbestos siding. He tried to get the company to install a bathroom and storage room in his garage that would circumvent the local codes that require a variance for this expansion. When he was faced with the local codes he refused to spend adequate time with the engineer that visited his home. He ignored a roof top full of water that continually comes down to undermine a corner of his home placing his home in jeopardy. [member name removed] and his wife owe Foundation Experts a large amount of money. These false statements will be dealt with accordingly. It is highly interesting when Foundation Experts technician was performing a quarterly inspection (offered at no charge to each customer) two weeks agao, that [member name removed] did not mention any of these concerns. Again, Foundation Experts will not ignore rotted wood under siding, Foundation Experts will not ignore the requirements set out by local code. Foundation Experts will not walk away from a homeowner trying to get out of a debt."

Foundation Experts has my highest recommendation. They are professional, on time, and simply a pleasure to work with. When the team came out to the property, they spent ample time on the premises, looked at every detail to ensure that the foundation evaluation is accurate and based on a thorough inspection.
We were having our basement insulated. The workers informed us that the sill plate on one side of a large crawl space, as well as portions of at least three joists, were rotted and needed replacing before they finished their job. We called Foundation Experts and Nick Jones came out the next day to give us an estimate. We accepted it, and the job was done the next week. As far as we can tell, the work was done properly as well as neatly and promptly. The workers were pleasant to deal with and did a few other small jobs they noticed at no additional charge.
Nick is amazing! He really helped me out in a time of need. We required an estimate on foundation work to a house we are buying. He spoke with me multiple times on the phone and met with me last minute to see what needed to be done. He was very thorough and I felt very confident with his recommendations. We plan on using him to do all of the work once we close on the house.
The contractor is very good. They are very punctual. They provided the engineering drawings for the township, provided a detailed plan to replace the bowing wall, and the pinning of two other walls for structural support and the basement entrance. They also provided support for a high water table issue
The crew was one of the best I have ever seen. They came, worked extremely hard and completed the job on time and as the building inspector said," a stellar job".
They covered all objects in the basement to minimize the dust, and moved the washer and dryer, reconnecting them in their new locations.
We had known about this problem for some time and had also had a structural engineer evaluate our situation. We may be putting our house up for sale soon and decided it was finally time to get the wall fixed. Armed with my own research and the engineers evaluation, we searched for a contractor to perform the work we knew we needed to have done. Upon contacting Foundation Experts, Larry got back to me very quickly and we set up an appointment for him to inspect the wall. He was VERY thorough in explaining what needed to be done to stabilize the wall to prevent any further movement/damage. He said we should have the wall "pinned". He quoted us $4000 to do the whole job (10 pins along a roughly 25ft. long wall). They also designed the system so that the re-bar would pass through the top course of block and attach to the house sill plate above the wall to help lock it in place.
The price was on par with most other estimates (slightly cheaper actually), but we decided to go with Foundation Experts mostly because they were very thorough with their evaluation, were honest (I was armed with a lot of info about our situation and felt very confident that what he proposed to do was exactly what needed to be done) and they did not pressure us at all. I also really liked the fact that they routinely work with engineers and felt that they had a better grasp on executing the work over other contractors we contacted. They also will work with the township if permits are needed.
We scheduled for the work to start the following week. Their team took about 2 days to do the work. They were very professional and did not make a mess at all. They put plastic up to prevent concrete dust from getting everywhere in the basement and cleaned up thoroughly. Larry was present during the bulk of the work and made sure that everything went smoothly. They even worked with us on the payment method. He made it very clear if we have any issues/concerns or questions to call them anytime. He also stressed that if we sell the house and potential buyers have any questions/concerns to contact him and they will work with us as best they can.
The wall is now fixed and my wife and I feel better knowing that our wall won't come crashing down during then next heavy rain! We also feel better knowing that we won't have to worry about foundation issues coming up if/when we sell our house. All in all, it was a great experience!
We had some relatively minor termite damage in a basement corner, some of which may have predated our purchase of this house. Called this company on a Sunday for an estimate, owner (Nick) was responsive, called me back that afternoon and then was able to come out the next day. He was familiar with this type of damage, told me the fixes and spotted another area of possible concern in the joist. He delivered an estimate within two days. We determined to go with his company based on his competitive price, seeming confidence in doing the job and also on other Angie's List reviews.
The day his workers were scheduled, they arrived before 9am. The main guy (Andy) sized up the jobs, listened to what I said and then went to go get materials and his helper to do the work. They ended up cutting out about 8 feet total of sill plate, which they replaced with pressure treated wood. While they couldn't get into the very far corner, they got as far as they
could and then sistered the rim joist. They also sistered the adjacent joists. Before they left, they sealed up a couple of cracks and "winterized" with spray foam any areas where they could see light around door frame or pipes.
While I would have liked if they could get a little farther, that was as far as they could go without making this a much more invasive and difficult job. I appreciated that Andy walked me through the steps as they did them, letting me know
when he ran into any problems. Overall this was a satisfying experience and I would use them again for other jobs.
We highly recommend Foundation Experts. We had a water problem in our attached garage-wet floor after storms-and in our basement-wet walls and cracks in the walls and floor of our 40 year old home. We had had a builder we trusted address the problem with the garage but the French drain he put in outside the garage was not effective. Of the three estimates we obtained from "water-proofing" companies, only Foundation Experts addressed both the basement and the garage issues! The others had no clue about the garage and only wanted to focus on the basement and the others were not as comprehensive regarding what they believed to be the problem in the basement and what they planned to do. Foundation Experts took a more comprehensive approach to diagnosing and fixing the problems- not just "water-proofing" but water management. Nick Jones and his partner correctly assessed what was causing the problems and how to fix them and did more than they had originally proposed without an increase in price when they more fully assessed what the problems were, including correcting with good results the fix the contractor had tried for the garage. Their goal was always to do what was required to fix the problems. Nick Jones oversaw the work every day, was easy to work with and resolved any concerns questions we had appropriately and effectively to our satisfaction. The foreman on the job, Andy, made sure the work was done correctly, neatly and cleanly to the point of protecting the newly painted walls in the hallway of our house so they would not be damaged or scratched when workers passed through on the way in and out of the basement. The workers who installed the French drains in the basement and garage were clearly experienced and expert at what they did. The company provided plastic containers to protect and remove articles that were in the basement and even rented a truck to temporarily store the things from the garage when the work was being done in the garage. In the end, not only were the basement and garage finally dry, but both were more attractive. In the garage, as part of the work without extra cost, they removed dry wall and insulation that were mildewed and replaced them and wiped everything down with an anti-mildew formula before installing the French drains in the garage, got whatever permits were required to do the work and contracted an electrician to install an electrical outlet and electric line for the newly installed sump pump in the garage. For a fair-priced additional fee, in the garage, they also put up dry wall where there had been none, painted all the walls and ceiling and painted the garage floor with a special paint that we requested. Andy made sure to fix up anything that had been missed. In short, from beginning to end, thay did an excellent job, did more than we expected, were timely, professional and knew what they were doing. Not only that, but as part of their service, after a recent rain storm, Andy returned to check the sump pumps they had installed to make sure the system was working and they will return again in December for another check or sooner, if needed. We are glad to have had them do the work we needed and recommend them highly without reservation. In fact, we are now going to have them address a chronic water problem in our backyard.
"Thanks for the positive review. Foundation Experts is available to work with all property owners and agents who have "punch listed" the last remaining chores before selling their home. We offer 48 hour response when requested. Too often today the buyer's agents and home inspectors are creating unnecessary anxiety. Call for an inspection."

We had some issues with an old addition to house shifting. We found that the walls holding it had some damage and seemed to be crumbling.
I had two firms come out to talk with me before Foundations Experts. One would not even look under the addition, said he had to come back. The other could not fit into the crawlspace and never came back.
Nicks guys were great. Went in took pictures asked questions and already knew the grounds from satellite photos.
They sent me a detailed report on what the issues were with all the photos.
During this time period they had been a lot of rain. My septic tank collapsed due to erosion and a broken pipe. Nick came out to take a look to make sure the house was safe since this is all connected to the addition. The septic tank was repaired. Nick gave me reports and advice on this in trying get insurance coverage even though the septic tank was repaired by another company.
At this point the foundation work has been put on hold, because of the expense of the repairs to the septic tank.
Foundations Experts went way beyond what they had to do even though that got no work out of it at this time.
Nick said he will redo the proposals and take a look again when we are ready.
Thanks
Greg Burke
We had french drains installed about 6 months ago. The company that installed those drains did not feel comfortable repairing two wall to ceiling (approximately 8 foot) cracks on opposite walls of the basement. They suggested that we get an engineer to inspect the cracks to see if they might indicate a structural weakness in the walls. I decided to use Foundation Experts after reading their reviews. I called and we were able to set up an appointment a couple days later. They came out and explained in detail the steps that would have to be taken to determine the best method for repairing the walls. Once we agreed to their proposal, they dug holes on the outside of the house to allow observation and inspection of the damage. After spending quite a bit of time examining all of the basement walls and hopping in the holes to inspect the outside of the walls, he determined that that the cracks in the walls were not structural. Foundation Experts then gave us a proposal for making the necessary repairs to the walls. Their crew was out within a day or two after we agreed to their proposal (throughout the process, there were never any significant wait times to get the work started). Their crew was out for 3 full and 1 partial day. They were very professional and cleaned up all dust, dirt, etc. related to their work. To relieve pressure on the outside walls, they connected a pipe from the outside of the wall into the french drain system. While performing that work, they inspected and made me aware of several concerns related to the french drain installation (done by another company). The cement and patching work appear to done extremely well (I guess I'll have to wait for the next big storm to be sure!). I've dealt with some difficult contractors in the past, but I can definitely say that Foundation Experts made the repair of these walls as painless as possible for us. As I mentioned, their crews always conducted themselves professionally, they cleaned up all construction related dust and dirt, and were always at the house on time. I would definitely use them again for any foundation, drainage, or basement water problems.
Work was completed on time and is functioning according to their design! The workers were professional, as they cleaned the work site as they went leaving little mess. Landscaping was completely restored at the completion of this job. I couldn?t be happier with their performance. I?m very particular about my landscaping and yard. It was like they were never there. I recommend this company.

Larry came out for an estimate quickly. I had to postpone work a bit because of some other issues with the house. When I was ready to go, Larry came back out and we went through everything again. This time a few other issues were brought to light. I went with Foundation Experts because the recommendations seemed more logical than other ideas that had been proposed by other companies. Once the contract was signed, work began quickly. Quite a few workers were there for different aspects of the job. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Andy was involved in different aspects of the project than the others and was very thorough in explaining what he was doing and why. The job didn't really take too much time and was spread out over 2 days. Everything looks good. The initial reason for my call to them was because of water pouring into my basement when it rains. Hoping that what they did will do the trick. Time will tell.
I have a few future projects in mind for them in the future.
Foundation Experts determined the problem was much greater than current homeowner thought. They brought in a structural engineer to thoroughly examine the foundation and wrote up a detailed report, including extensive photographs, of the problem. They gave a written proposal for potential work to repair the problem according to township code. All of their work (three separate visits plus three detailed reports) was done in an astonishingly compressed time period, which enabled us to meet our required deadline to attempt to continue with purchase of the house, depending on current homeowners willingness to either repair the issues to our satisfaction or give us a purchase credit of the amount proposed by Foundation Experts. Had we not engaged their help, we could have unknowingly bought a house that needs approximately $40,000 worth of structural repair.
The engineer that Larry provided was extremely thorough and knowledgable. Larry was also present when the engineer did his inspection and was very helpful with explaining there concerns. Our repair took two days and Larry was there the whole time on site and involved. Upon the second day we were introuduced to larrys partner nick. to no surprise he was also very profesional and invovled. Larry's crew were very professional and respectful. They performed exseptional work and kept what would be a dirty job very clean. Larry came out and did an analysis of our exterior drainage system, as we were having some puddling issues in the front and rear of our yard. We had just moved into the home a few months prior and Larry also did an analysis of our basement as we were having some concerns about the slightly bowed wall in our basement. Larry was very thorough and took a lot of time to go through the details of the exterior french drainage system he would install. He responded back to us in a timely manner and was extremely reasonable with their quote compared to other bids we had received from other contractors.
Larry and his team came out to the house and made quick work of a tedious job. They took good care to keep the job-site as tidy as possible. Although Larry changed from the original plan, we felt comfortable with this as he was very thorough when explaining the reasons behind the change and we felt he had our best interest at heart. If we had any questions Larry was always available to answer them for us even when we called at 9pm.
We had a walkway that they had to cut through in order to run the piping for the drainage and Larry even added concrete to fix the walkway even though it wasn't in our original proposal.
We feel like with the work that was completed we got an excellent price and we have the peace of mind knowing that the job was done properly.
Don and Nick were great through the entire process. Nick arranged for a storage unit to store the garage contents, handled the township permits and they started as soon as the garage contents were removed. Don and the structural engineer kept us informed and worked with us to develop a plan to address the situation including unexpected repairs which were discovered after excavation. They kept us informed as the job progressed. A big job like this can have a large impact on your daily life and Don and the crew minimized the inconvenience of having the floor of an attached garage jack hammered out and replaced. These guys take pride in their work, are very knowledgeable and did a great job. I would hire them again without hesitation
Nick and Don were great. The scope of this project was very overwhelming for my mother and me as well as for the rest of our family. As the house was not habitable during the construction, Nick kept us informed of the progress and of what the next steps were. They not only provided the services we needed, but they were understanding and supportive during the process, talking us through the various stages of the work, and reviewing the details of the work as it was being completed. They and their crew were respectful of the rest of the property and the job was completed on time and within budget. I would definately use their services again, and they have our warmest recommendation.
PHL Contractors did a fantastic job! They are very knowledgeable and skilled and take pride in their work and tailor what they do to meet your situation. They managed to excavate outside in a very tight area with virtually no disruption to the surrounding area. They explained what they did along the way and did the job right - no shortcuts. The crew was great - very respectful and cooperative and they took great strides to minimize the disruption and to avoid damaging anything.
I think their major strength is their broad knowledge in construction and repair even beyond just foundation work that allows them to provide a more complete solution. The job turned out great. I'm very pleased with their service and the end result and would highly recommend them.
