This company is owned and run by "old school" professional people who do what they say they will do. Everyone from the office staff to the crew that did the work to the owner Greg McBride were wonderful to work with. I wish I had know about them 4 years ago and I would have used them for everything in and around my home. I trust them and will use them in the future.

I was upstairs and I heard a lot of noise and the house started shaking. There were cracks inside the house. I asked what happened and they said the jack slipped. After that they said everything was good, looked level. They were supposed to redo my front steps by tearing the whole thing down and reconstructing it, but they talked me into just letting them fill in the area under the stairs with concrete and they did a sloppy job as fast as he could so they could get paid and be done with the projects. Now water gets under those area he filled and goes into the foundation. The hand railing is also not secured well to the concrete and I requested the redo that. I realized after they were done that the house was not level by the garage door. They hired a person to install a new door and he had real trouble getting the old one taken down and then had trouble with the install as well. The crew did not clean up after themselves at all. My niece and I spent 5 hours cleaning up all the bricks and concrete. One day they left my front door open and my house was filled with concrete dust everywhere. I called them several times to ask them to come out and look at the spot above the garage that was still sagging. They would tell me they were going to come out once they get more work in the area, but never came. A few months ago he said I never complained or called him. He still hasn't been out here to look at the house and I don't think he's planning on it. The last time we talked he said he was going to call before he came out but I haven't heard from him. I was responsible for repairing the drywall crack on the interior, but was assured there wouldn't be many, however, there are huge cracks all over the house.

The absolute worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. We started the work on our house with this company in March of 2011. It continued on for almost two years. The company representative we originally spoke with became impossible to contact. He wouldn't return calls for nearly six months, and it took calls to the home office to get him to do anything. When they added the floor supports and began to level the floors, a giant lump appeared in our library floor. We were told not to worry about it, that it would settle over time. Once it became apparent that wouldn't happen, we had to call repeatedly to get the representative to come out and address our issues. The addition of more supports and adjusting the level didn't do anything to the lump in our floor, which is now permanent. Finally, we made contact with the president of the company, who came to our house to see what had been done. All of this work had been done without permits, which we were told by the original representative we wouldn't need. That, in hindsight, should have been our first clue this was going to be a nightmare project. The president viewed our house, came up with a plan, wrote it down, and left my husband and I to decide our next course of action. Unfortunately, the company president passed away, and the drawing he'd made for us and taken with him was now nowhere to be found. The fall of 2012 came and we had made plans with the company to come fix what had become a year plus long project. We made them apply for permits, which they assured us they had, and the showed up to work on the house. They showed up without any kind of drawing, instead asking me where the supports were supposed to go and what was supposed to be done. They disregarded my request to wait on cutting two new holes through the foundation walls for two additional automatic vent fans. I ended up firing them that day, after a lengthy and intense discussion with their scheduling secretary and the new representative I was dealing with. A few months later, in early 2013, I received a phone call from our city's permit office asking if anyone was going to pick up the paperwork that had been lingering there since the fall of 2012. When the city employee found out I was the homeowner, she asked if the company had done any work on the house. When I said yes, they had, she told me the permits the company had assured me they had, had in fact been denied because there was no drawing detailing the work to be done. I ended up with copies of the denied paperwork, and eventually called the company to demand my money back. My husband and I ended up having to contract with a second company to fix everything that had gone wrong, plus the original issue. After meeting with representatives of the first company, I was able to get a refund of $2500. They made that incredibly difficult, requiring my husband and myself to sign a waiver before they would release the check. My husband had taken a job out of state, and it took us an extra week to get his signature. They then delayed further on delivering the check, saying they'd be at our house by a certain date, and then calling the day of to say they couldn't make it. We eventually got our refund, they got their signed waiver, and they removed their jacks from the garage where we'd been storing them. That was another part of the deal to get our money back; we had to return any materials the second company had removed in order to make the job right. This was a horrible experience that took too long to settle.
Ken was very knowledgeable about our problems. We asked him about several issues; some needed fixing and some did not. I respect his opinions. Our major issue was a two story wall that was sagging because it was built between floor joists. We had an extra joist and supports installed. The workmen were courtious and effecient. Our floor feels very stable now.
It is great to have businesses that do it the old fashioned way - courtesy & professionalism. Treat yours as if it were theirs. To go the extra mile out of business pride NOT economics.

It's a small house but they did a lot of work. They had to take these big beams and the big long boards next to the ones that were already there that were termite infested. My kitchen had sunk to the point that if there was any liquid on it, it would pour under the kitchen table. It was no small job I guess. They didn't crack the ceiling and I was so afraid that the house was so old. I had the kitchen repainted and redone and was really afraid that I was going to see some cracked walls but all I saw was some doors. I do have an issue that I need to call them back on because some doors are sticking now that the floors are even. Other than that I was pretty pleased with them. I don't know enough about what they did or how well they did but it appears that they did well. If they respond to my problem that I'm having right now then I will use them in the future.
