Jim and his team did excellent team installing security system during construction and came back to finish it, of all the quotes we got Jim's proposal was complete all around proposal with acceptable cost. Freedom systems has been doing our monitoring for 3 years and excellent service as well. very reliable monitoring. Jim and his team came back after a year and installed hardwired security cameras.

The installations by Freedom systems are high quality and user friendly. Any time my wife or I have had questions about the systems we get immediate response to our texts or phone calls. We have referred Them to a number of our friends and business owners and all have been very happy.

This is an updated review on this contractor as when we left a previous negative review, Jimmie (the owner) threatened us with a law suit to remove the review so we opted to update our review to include more details. We gave the contractor the chance to come and fix the system they installed but with no response. It just makes me wonder how many customers did remove their negative review for this contractor to avoid confrontation with him. We hired this contractor around November 2014 to install security camera system for our office building. Jimmie came and gave us a competitive quote below other companies. I did not have a chance to ask him about his network certification or experience during the visit which is something I am regretting as a simple phone call to manufacturer tech support during installation can take 90 min or more with most of that is hold time. About 2 weeks after signing the contract, Jimmie came with 2 technicians to deliver the equipment and gave instructions to install the cams in the locations we discussed. The job could not finish in the first few days as not all parts were available such as camera wall mounts. Jimmie stated that he is busy with another business he runs and we have to wait until February (about 4 months later). Finally they came back to attempt finishing the job but in the mean time the cameras they installed had such a low quality that they started rusting (see attached picture). We confronted Jimmie that these cameras are not the high quality ones he charged us extra for to install but he rejected that and stated that they are out of the same Chinese factory as the high quality ones but do not have the brand name logo printed on them. After some research online and getting in touch with the HikVision USA office, we found out that these “no-logo” cameras and Video recorders are a Chinese compatible version but have been updated with English software. It was also stated that if we try to upgrade these units again to latest software version, it will switch back to Chinese. We tried to upgrade the Digital Video Recorder “DVR” to the newest software version but could not do so and had to stay with the old software as delivered. I, as a hardware engineer, also noticed lower grade components used in these cams compared to their US version. The case had to go to a small claim court and even after we paid the contractor, they only changed some of the cameras that have gone bad to the US version ones but refused to change the rest of them as they were running back then. To make a long story short, the job took over 2 years and was not finished to our satisfaction. Some of the “Chinese version” cameras have stopped responding to the DVR and no longer record (see last picture). Also the DVR skips few seconds between the frames all the time. There were also behaviors that I would consider unprofessional. The cameras come with a connecter jacket to avoid moisture penetration. None of these were installed by the techs as they stated that they never install them. Now it could be that with no moisture protection these connectors have been oxidized with time and that is why some of the cams stopped working. One advice I would give if you hire this contractor, make sure the contract states that all additional work must be authorized in writing with prices prior to the work performance. This contractor ended up billing us for work that we thought is a part of the original job but he wanted over $700 additional for it. I have been in business for over 25 years and this is by far the worst contract performance I have ever gotten. I see lots of “one line” reviews stating that this contractor did a great job installing an alarm system but this was not our experience. After spending over $10,000 and 100s of hours (as we had to be available when they work on site), we ended up with a flaky working system and cameras that keeps on going bad one after the other. Last one went bad 2 weeks ago. It was not a good experience.

The crew member (sorry, I don't remember his name) arrived on-time, and performed a professional installation of the new panel.

I called Freedom systems to setup a consultation for security cameras. Jimmie showed up on time and gave me a lot of helpful information over and above what I was seeking. The quote was about $400-800 less than other's I've received, and the other companies took days to schedule a consult. I settled on 4 Hikvision 4 megapixel cameras and matching 8 Channel NVR. His installer was at my house about a week later installing the cameras. Installer Din, I think his name was, did a wonderful job hiding and securing all wires. He was courteous as well. About a month later, I noticed one of the camera feeds looked different than the other three. Jimmie had his installer swap the camera out for a new one. The system has been working flawless ever since. I had to contact Jimmie once more because Comcast changed my modem and the settings needed to be setup again. Jimmie replied after hours and followed up with a phone call the next morning, walked me through the setup. I'm very happy with the professional service and follow up commitment from Freedom Systems. Will definitely be using them again.

Outstanding! Jimmie looked at the current system in place, made suggestions on the improvements that could be made, changed the alarm codes and connected us to a monitoring company. He was professional, extremely knowledgeable, provided options to choose from, used resources to help with the unique challenges of our security system and made sure we felt comfortable with the level of coverage that we chose. I was very pleased with the level of service that I received and would highly recommend Freedom Systems.

It went fine initially - great advice on camera location and possible setup options, and timely and professional installation of the system.  When trying to set up the wifi camera access there were some technical difficulties with our network setup that led Jimmie to have to come back a couple times to try out different wireless adapters.  It finally got set up and was working great, but after a few weeks the remote viewing stopped working.  I couldn't tell if this was because we had made some changes to our network to improve wireless signal in the house, or if it was because my ISP (Frontier) changed the IP address of my home (which it did since the installation happened).  I tried multiple times to get assistance to correct the problem (mainly extensive research for this on my own since I couldn't get much help from Jimmie) but I have been unable to get the issue fixed, and Jimmie stopped returning my emails.  So I am in the process of finding "real" networking support to come out to correct the problem and get the setup working seamlessly.   <br> <br>So it's great if you have an easy home network set up and your Internet Service Provider doesn't periodically change your IP address (like Frontier FIOS does), and you don't need any more sophisticated IT/networking support.  But be wary if you think you have anything complicated in your network setup (like multiple routers or multiple wireless access points or dynamic IP addresses), or if you think you may need some follow-up networking support.  Make sure you understand all of the details behind how everything is set up (static IP addresses, DNS servers, port forwarding info, etc), because you will have a tough time getting any follow-up support from Freedom Systems after the installation is complete, and if anything breaks you will have to pay to have a networking expert come out to fix things. <br> <br> <br>

Jimmie called us within a 1/2 hour of leaving our initial message. We explained that our 27-year-old alarm system, which included the smoke alarm, had died. We explained what we knew and he said he could come by that evening and that he thought he might have a simple solution. He tried a number of things but couldn't get it to work. He gave us a thorough explanation of what he was trying and the differences between our very old technology and the current standards. <br /> Jimmie returned to install a new system, spending 5-6 hrs. doing so. He could give all contractors a lesson on phone etiquette; he never answered his phone while we were talking, and while he worked he used a Bluetooth earpiece and kept on working while he talked at such a low, moderated voice, that I could barely hear him when I was 10 ft. away. <br /> Jimmie's a real nice gentleman and we felt like he did an excellent job at a fair price. I would feel perfectly comfortable calling him with questions. We'd recommend him highly. <br /> <br />

I would highly recommend going through Freedom Systems for all of your security needs.  Jimmie came out and gave me a quote for a new security system and a high def camera system, he really knows his stuff.  We decided to forgo the camera system since we were able to integrate a camera into the security system.  Even though they were busy and short one installer, they went above and beyond to get our security system installed within a week.  The installers were quick, efficient and didn't leave a mess. There was an equipment malfunction, but they came back out next day to replace the part.  I am extremely happy with the whole experience. <br />

I contacted Freedom Systems to repair my security system because of the good reviews it received on Angie's list.  Jimmie from Freedom Systems appeared at the appointed time, knew exactly what to do, and promptly fixed my alarm system at the price he quoted me over the phone.  I was pleased with his promptness, professionalism, and knowledge.  I would not hesitate to use him again in the future.   <br />

Jimmie was quick to response and he  knows his stuff, was able to advise on some additional stuff and worked with all the issues he ran into with the previous installers. They were able to work around the issues and clean up the mess and provide us with alternatives to secure the house. We had couple of issues after they finished installation, but they were prompt to respond and acknowledge the issues. Excellent turn around turn around time and service, easy to work with and communicate. <br />
