Once we gotten started things went well. While they were ready to go in Sept. I was hoping to have some windows replaced (hail damage) before they painted. Finally I agreed to go ahead because we had an excellent window of opportunity weatherwise. The onsite project manager, John Pandolphi was present to ensure things went smoothly, provide supplies and check on the crew. John made himself available by cell phone if I had any questions etc.The crew was always prompt and arrived at the agreed upon time. They always cleaned up thoroughly at the end of the day. I allowed them to store some ladders in my yard during their work period. Jay and the crew were friendly, respectful and easy to work with.

I found great reviews for Fresh Coat of Northern Colorado on Angie's List. I called to have an estimate done for repainting the trim on our house. One of the co-owners came out to bid the project out. At the time of the bid, a price was given with a contingency that if a third coat of paint was needed then the price might be adjusted up by $800.00 dollars. My husband and I thought that fair, signed our contract and scheduled the services. The wait time for the painting services was very short. Within a week we were scheduled to begin the project. The painters assigned to our project, Travis and Lonnie Floreth, were great. Their work is incredible and their sense of pride in their job was excellent. The job was bid out to us as a two day, two man job. The job lasted two weeks with some weather delay in there (3 days, I think). The reason the painting was taking so long was because of the challenging work--our home is textured stucco which makes spraying a non-option. It took days of prepping with tape and caulk and the use of a brush for all of the edges due to the texture of the stucco. The painters did an exceptional job on the project. Fresh Coat of Northern Colorado was not very pleased with the length of time it was taking the painters to complete the project and sent the Client Service Manager out to our home to inspect and determine the cause of the problem. Well the problem was not the painters at all; it was the problem of the co-owner of Fresh Coat of Northern Colorado who was completely off base with bidding the project out. He bid it out as a ranch house when in fact it is a story and a half as well as not taking into account the stucco and the difficulty and time it would take to cut in all of the trim work. The Client Service Manager came out and found that the bid was way under budget and he began assisting in the painting process to speed things up. He told me that the extra $800.00 was going to be charged because they were doing three coats but I am not certain that three coats were ever applied. I feel that the extra charge was more to ease their mistake than to give us the third coat of paint. We, as the homeowners, did not cause any grief to Fresh Coat regarding the length of the project but the representative kept giving me explanations that I did not really need to be privy to. Their mistakes are their own and I do not think it professional to tell the homeowners what the project should have been bid out at and how much money they were losing. All we are concerned with is getting the job done and sticking to the bid and contract we signed. We felt that the company was acting in a completely irresponsible manner. We will not use this company again but will use the contract painters for the interior painting of our home this winter. Travis and Lonnie were great!

Our home needed (I mean REALLY needed) repainting. Particularly difficult was the trim which, as it's always been a darker color and therefore absorbed more heat, was in tough shape. We initially purchased the Big Deal offered, which included prep work and one coat of paint. In early discussions the owner gave us the pricing for a second coat if we wished, and when he surveyed the project he suggested - and we absolutely agreed - that a second coat would be advisable. Everything was honest and up-front; there were no surprises of any sort on that front.
The crew did a fabulous amount of prepwork, particularly on that rugged trim. I was very impressed with the care they took to do everything well and to check with us and offer suggestions every step of the way. They were all very pleasant and a lot of fun to talk to, as well. There's nothing very special about this property but they treated it as though it was a top-of-the-line new build. It looks as good as new (and in a much nicer color!)
The only very small issue was that on the first full morning of painting the crew said they'd be here around 7:30 am but arrived at 12:30, which pushed the completion time over a weekend rather than being done all in the same work week. But as mentioned, this was a small issue and the overall result is even better than we'd hoped. We would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
Response from Fresh Coat Northern Colorado
"This customer got far more than he paid for. He paid for only one coat and yet behind my back he went and got more paint for the painter to add a second coat. In addition the deck part of the job was a light sanding yet he got the worker to do a full sanding."

I am thrilled with John and the crew from Fresh Coat. They carefully caulked, filled nail holes, power washed, and sanded the surfaces of my house and deck prior to painting. They were always on-time, professional and worked hard until the job was complete. I received a professional paint job with amazing customer service! John even took additional photos of my home so I could submit them to the insurance company. I would highly recommend Fresh Coat.
They quoted a price but then during the job said they needed an extra $700 because it needed more coats of paint.
If the owner can't correctly give an accurate estimate, then they shouldn't be in business. We felt like it was a bait and switch.
Fresh Coat was able to get to our job right away and with the aid of several days of good weather it went quickly. We first had to tear off a good deal of ivy that had grown up the walls and left behind the pads that the vines use to stick to the wall. I began the work of scraping and sanding it off but couldn't finish before the crew came to work. They had to finish the difficult task before they could start painting. It probably set them back a day in their schedule but they kept to the estimate I had been given. I am very happy with the new color. The house looks great.
Fresh Coat started by pressure washing the outside of our house including the porch and deck. They advised where to go and pick out paint samples and recommended that we paint sample blocks on the side of the house to be sure the colors appeared as we wanted them to. When we asked, they offered their opinion on color and offered sound advice about how different colors may affect temperature. Then, they painted, with a sprayer, the exterior siding, trim, garage, and porch in the colors we specified. They also recommended painting the kites at the peak of the trim as is the "hip" thing for exterior painting right now. The deck was first sanded and then stained with several coats until it met our expectations for the color (it originally gave a pink hue, and additional coats with no additional cost to us took that away). They touched up every inch of the exterior and painted and hung shutters to finish things up. They did a great job of cleaning around the house afterwards and left everything just as it had been prior to their arrival (door weather stripping, etc.). The paint team was on time and courteous. They asked all my questions fully and offered a ton of advice when I asked. They were precise in their painting and clearly showed that they wanted my house to look great when it was done. There was no careless work that just cared about getting the job done fast enough to move onto the next one. They genuinely cared to make my house look fantastic.

The painters at Fresh Coat did a fantastic job. They listened to all of our concerns and were able to give us useful suggestions while also working hard to figure out what would work best for our house and with our wishes. They addressed every concern we had and worked late more than one day to make sure that they completed our job as promised. We were very happy with Fresh Coat and would recommend them.
