Eric was a pleasure to deal with. Whether it is returning a phone call, replying to an email or a scheduled appointment his punctuality is spot on. He is also a very personable and nice guy. The overall quality of staining our deck was excellent. I have no hesitations about hiring Eric and crew again for future projects.

My kitchen has very little floor-to-ceiling wall space. Every side has cabinets, doors, windows and the majority of the painting work requires cutting in with a brush, so I didn't want to do it myself and risk getting paint on new cabinets. They did the work efficiently and without any problems. <br />

When I contacted FreshCoat, I said "I usually just paint myself, but I bought this crazy metallic paint at Target, and it looks like it's complicated to apply. Do you have experience with this type of paint?" Reassurances all around. The painter, Doug, called me with a litany of "faux finish" jobs he had done that looked great. <br /> <br /> He painted the room with my paint, and after two coats, he packed up, reassuring me that it was going to look great when it dried. Well, after a day or two, it was clearly a disaster. I called Barbara, who came out to look and of course said that the job needed to be fixed. Score 1 star for FreshCoat. <br /> <br /> Barbara (administrator) and Douglas (painter) met and decided that I needed to use paint that he was familiar with. This <br /> seemed totally reasonable, and I figured I should have known better than to buy house paint at Target. So I went to Lowes and purchased the primer, base coat, and metallic that they recommended. <br /> <br /> Douglas came back, forgot to use the primer (he read the paint cans wrong), and finished the job with his recommended paint. Again, he packed up and left with reassurances. The picture that I'm attaching isn't of wet paint, or of one coat when another was planned. This was the finished job, several days later. <br /> <br /> I called poor Barbara to complain again, and again she came out to look at it. I told her that I was not going to pay for the full rate of painting, and we settled on a price for their effort plus several days of work, etc. 800 dollars. <br /> <br /> I am giving a C rather than an F because I appreciated that the owners were apologetic, rather than trying to make it seem like I was crazy or too demanding. Barbara's parting words were "Doug usually does a really good job..." They didn't offer to send another painter to fix it, and I didn't insist, because at that point it had gone on for over a week and I was tired of having people in the house. <br /> <br /> I ended up getting boring, non-metallic paint and re-painting it myself. It was a total waste of a thousand dollars (when I add the cost of many cans of paint)

Weather didn't cooperate so they had to come back a few times, but kept coming until we were satisfied. It took 2 or 3 visits...it wasn't clear to me how much of the difficulty was due to insufficient sanding vs the heat/humidity, but they kept at it until we were happy. <br />

The painter arrived on time, and had all his own supplies, including protective covering for floors and furniture. He took the time to review the job details with me, and when he realized the job would not take the full amount of time paid for, he suggested repainting my entry door also (no additional charge). I was very pleased as it needed painting, but I hadn't budgeted for doing it. He was very neat and professional, and the quality of work was excellent. It has now been 4 months since the service, and the kitchen still looks like it was just painted. My entry door now looks great too! <br />

<p>Couldn't be happier with the results - the house looks great. Barbara was very helpful with the color selection process and actually steered me towards the colors that I didn't think would work in my house - they turned out great. We tried out several colors in the foyer before zeroing in on the final choice, they were very patient and accommodating. The painter Adel worked non-stop and finished the job without delays. He was very professional, polite and easy to work with. I would recommend them to anyone and, in fact, will use them again in a few weeks to paint one more room. </p> <br />

The walls look pretty good, but they did miss a spot. The starting time was not good, they did not show up when they said they would. Poor reliability.

"I am sorry that you were not happy with the deal you purchased. Unfortunately the painter that was initially assigned to the job had a family emergency. To buy your goodwill because of the no show, the owner arrived and worked 5 hours the first day, and the 2nd day you had 2 painters for 5.5 hours each. This is a total of 16 hours. You told the estimator that you would move the furniture 3 feet from the walls, empty the closet and tape the border that you wanted to preserve. None of this was done when we arrived, but we smiled and assisted in moving the furniture and working in the very limited space, asking you only to vacuum so the dust wouldn't get into the paint. You told the estimator that you wanted the trim painted same as the walls, but gave the painter white trim paint to go over the blue trim. We completed your job, all surfaces were painted professionally and you told them you were happy with the job and were going to leave us a good review. So I am a bit confused and disappointed to read a review like this after going above and beyond to make you happy."

The painter, Adel, was very pleasant, neat and fast. The room looks fantastic. We had stripes along the middle of the wall, a sort of chair rail design we were sure to give them a heads about before paint day, and Adel was able to smooth them out significantly. Couldn't have asked for a better job. The "B" for punctuality is for the time of arrival. We were told 8:30 but he came around 9:15. Not a big deal, especially since they fit us in so quickly (came within 2 days of scheduling!) and he worked so fast, but the kids could have slept an extra 45 minutes on a Saturday morning :) Overall, really excellent job and we plan to use Fresh Coat again. <br />

Usually we tell people 'between 8 and 9' which gives us a little hedge room for picking up paint at the store, traffic, etc., Often the paint store is very busy in the morning and this can slow us way down so the owner picks it up the day before whenever possible. Due to the short turnaround on this job, the paint was ordered the morning of the job. I am glad you are happy with the quality of the work and the responsiveness of the company. They did a really good job- I am very pleased with their work. He was always on time, very courteous, quiet and went about his business- we didn't really even know that he was there. Dealing with the woman who owns the company or is the mother of the company owner when getting the quote was okay. She didn't really give us a quote like a normal company would -like somebody would come in and write down all the work we have requested on a piece of paper; the work order and how much it would cost. She just looked around the room and told us it would be done in two days and told us the price. The price was good but the way they quoted was unusual.

<p>Upon going to contract on Friday, the painters were deployed for an <strong>immediate start</strong>. As a landlord, having a quick turn around on an apartment is <strong>essential</strong> to keeping a property profitable and paying the bills on time. Work started the next day, Saturday, December 6th at 7 am and was <strong><em>COMPLETED</em></strong> Sunday, December 7th at 4:15 pm. The place looks great and the stress of having to ready the apartment by myself is gone!</p> <p>It was a pleasure doing business with Fresh Coat of CT River Valley. There were no hidden costs or attempts to claim "additions" to the job that would have pushed me over budget. The price we agreed to was the price I paid. This simple fact alone makes them a trustworthy and transparent business.</p> <p>I will absolutely use them again and they will be the first company I recommend to anyone looking for a painter.</p> <br />

The whole experience was great. The office got me in on the day I really needed even though they were busy, they worked with me. The painters showed up on time and ready to work. They were very nice and very pleasant to deal with. The quality of the work performed was fantastic. I would use them again and I definitely recommend them. <br />

I noticed that everybody seems to be in a hurry. They did it, and there are some spots, and you should really take care of the spots, because when there are two people, they are in a hurry. The guy did an okay job, but there were some spots, and he is coming back to do the spots. They did only one coat on the sealing, and probably they should have done two. I wouldn't given them 100%, I would give them 85%. The pricing was okay, there were several other people who were way over priced. He did a good job of what he painted. The ceiling was an issue, and we will have to get that squared away.

I purchaed the big deal thru AL and the provider countacted me within a few hours. They showed up the day of the job on time and looked professional. They were courteous, clean and did a great job painting both rooms. I will definitely use this painter again and even referred my neighbor to the company. <br />

The deal was purchased on the 23, and work completed on the 29th, I stopped by on several occasions during the 1.5 days of painting. I did not get a chance to stop by to check the final work, and would really like to do that as part of my service. Any touch ups or concerns will be promptly addressed. Please make sure that you are calling 860-724-2817 our 24 hour answering service and your call will be answered immediately. The two rooms were really what we consider 4, a master bedroom, master bath with vanity area and separate shower room, and a powder room downstairs. This company was professional, punctual, experienced, and had competitive pricing. I contacted 5 local companies who had an A rating through Angie's List and was able to email them right through this site so it made it very easy. Fresh Coat won the price bid and we were very pleased with their customer service. Our main contact was Barbara and she was knowledgeable and friendly. They set up a contract via email, and when I noticed that there were a couple of things missing from the contract that we had discussed, they rewrote it with no issues. The whole process took a little over a week due to weather delays. They arrived before 8 am daily and stayed late if they needed to. Barbara was on site most of the time and was very accessible when she was not there. They did a great job powerwashing, and like I said, they even washed up the driveway and walkway leading up to the house. They took one day to power wash, and two to three days to paint the house and trim. They needed another 2 to 3 days for the deck because they noticed two worn out boards and offered to replace the wood themselves. That was great for us because we have 2 small kids, so we don't have a lot of time to repair the house ourselves. They left their materials neatly in our backyard overnight so they could get a quick start daily. They were so friendly and remembered our names and said hello to us when we would come and go. They worked very hard and did a great job. Our house looks 100% better! Sebastian and Rafael were the main painters on our job and they were a pleasure to work with. This company treated us like we were their only clients and like they'd known us for years. They established a contract before any work was done, and divided the payments up into a pre-work deposit and after our final inspection. They honored the contract and when we hit a couple of snags (replacing the deck boards and our forgetting to include the shutters in the painting request), they amended it and worked with the price increase to help fit our budget. I would absolutely use this company again because they really take pride in their work and realize how important word-of-mouth recommendations are. They know how to treat their customers!!
