Started 12/9/22 Finished 1/18/22. Never showed up when he said he would. Very undependable. Also asked for check for $7000. Upfront to order concrete. He hit the house, broke corners of patio step. The cement he poured is different colors. The finish has several types of finishes, some really rough. Some has extra cement on it and some have a big square of something in the cement. I've tried several times to contact him. Both calls and texts. I did all the prep work to get dirt away from the old drive and patio. We will be selling in spring that's why we replaced drive and patio. It will never sell with the damage.

Doug and Melissa Cagney would contact us by text saying they were on their way (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) to our house to get going on our project. They would show up at 6:00 p.m. and work for 2 to 3 hours and leave again. I paid half of the amount so they could cover materials for the job. Then I would not hear from them for 2 or 3 days and I called them and left a message, they texted shortly after my message saying they did not have cell service and that they were on their way and would either, not show up or come later at night. They did bring a skidster to get the dirt work done for the driveway (12 x 50 feet) and garage pad (30 x45 feet). A truck showed up one day to drop off base course approximately two weeks later. Thanks God we were home because he would have driven over our septic system. The base course was to be dropped off over the weekend when we were gone. I tried to call Doug to let him know about this situation but he did not answer his phone at which time I texted him about the base course. Doug and Melissa showed up a few days later to replace the string line because the truck driver drove over the top of the string line. They left shortly after they replaced the string line. They showed up later on another day to take care of the base course and place the driveway forms. They seemed busy outside and then the next thing Doug was gone and Melissa was busy doing something. Doug returned around 10:00 p.m. with a skidster to get the base course laid down. They left and we had not hear from them for quite sometime, I called and texted to contacted them. They were telling me that Doug was involved in an accident which broke some forms and then his truck was stolen so that they are going to be busy and should be back to work in a couple of days about one week later they showed up to get the forms up for the garage pad. Approximately one week later the concrete was arriving and Doug and Melissa were working the concrete on the driveway. It was setting up quicker then they could handle it so it was a bad pour and is rough and has ripples in it. Doug informed me that this was to big of a project for him and Melissa since she has not worked with concrete and that he should have stop pour with a bulk head and start again when he had more help. He stated he could fix it if I could give him an addition $600 to get the product to fix it with because he did not have the money to buy the product. He stated he would have a lot of help when they do the garage pad. Two days later he showed up with two extra people to pour the garage pad. The concrete was to arrive at 10:00 a.m. and they still had some forms to put up around the garage pad. The concrete trucks were arriving and they were not done with the forms yet so the truck had to wait. Approximately 10:30 a.m. the concrete was beginning to pour. 1/3 of the way through the job Doug's equipment broke down the equipment was to screed and level the concrete. Doug was very frustrated by then and asked me to go buy 2 x 4x 16 feet long screed board. My wife informed me that Doug and one of his helpers were digging out the concrete and that it was setting up to fast. Doug was very frustrated and drove off the site heading north in a very fast pace. When I came back I gave Doug the board which he required to finish the job. The concrete truck started to pour again. We have a mess the concrete looks hideous and has gouges in it. We now have to contact another contractor for estimates to repair the concrete. On top of all this the concrete company informed us they are going to place a lien on our house because Doug and Melissa did not pay for the concrete. which I had paid for so they could like I said above pay for materials to accomplish this whole project. This job started the first part of April and was finished the end May. Who takes this long to prep and pour concrete ?????.

I needed a slab poured in my backyard for a hot tub and enclosure, my space was small but I was able to get a 14'x14' slab with round corners, curved edges, and enough walking room around it. Doug worked very hard and his helpers (including his wife) went above and beyond my expectations. The work is 5-star excellent! I will definitely be hiring them again when I redo my patio space.

Fresh Concrete and Design did an excellent job with our huge back patio, 3 sets of stairs, and a very large retaining wall that now holds back 100+ tons of dirt that we were able to level our yard with. They worked with us well and we’re able to give us the incredible backyard we imagined! Not to mention what it did to our home value!!! 10/10 will would highly recommend and use them again.
