$500 to refinish table. when it was returned it looked great but there was one mark that I requested to be fixed. they applied some gunk but mark it still there and soft to the touch. I've texted, left messages and they will not come back to fix it

They were good. Very nice. Very good service, also had a bed that was broken and they fixed it, it was excellent after they fixed that. I had an old chest they did and they did a nice job on that. I had an old table and they did an excellent job on that.

I was very pleased with Darrel and Annette at Furniture Physicians. They were great to work with and patient with me while I settled on a color for the finish of my table. The finished piece exceeded my expectations.

The furniture physicians did a great job refinishing a dining room set that belonged to my grandparents. They kept in touch with us every step of the way, letting us know how things looked and letting us approve the work at each step. Darrel is clearly very knowledgeable about wood, how it ages and cabinetry. The pieces he worked on for us were handmade in the 1950s, from walnut. He restored them to a former grandeur! We can't wait to have a dinner party and show them off.
Great job on a priceless family heirloom made from an unusual wood. Met Darrel at Scott's Antique Market and described to him the piece we wanted refinished. He followed up the next week and came with his wife Annette to look at the item and give me a quote. The pickup of the items was scheduled for a couple of days later and when the work was completed my husband went to their workshop to pick it up (it would have been nice if they delivered the piece back to us, but I'm sure that would have increased the price). The chest looks great and all signs of previous neglect are gone! They even repaired a crack and I can't even find where it was repaired - it blends in so seamlessly. I would definitely recommend Furniture Physicians to anyone needing refinishing or repair and would not hesitate to use them again myself.
decided to use them based on Angie's List Ratingthe scheduling went fine, they were on timeWe explained that we wanted the white leather cleanedThey told us it could not be cleaned, but they could restore the leather and itwould look great! They did not look great, and I had to go back and actually get them clean using a leather cleaner I bought at a grocery store. It was a lot of work, which I expected them to do. They obviously did not want to spend the time or make the effort to accomplish what we asked.
I was pleased with the repair. Looks great however it still cannot be sat in. I knew this when I approved the repair. Since the chair is a family heirloom, it was worth it to me.

I took our 4 kitchen chairs to Furniture Physicians on 2/3/12 to have all the joints repaired. The owner gave an estimate of $65.00 per chair and said that once the repair was complete that the joints would be guaranteed. He also told me that the chairs were made of Pecan wood which I hadn't known previously. They also quoted that it would take a week to a week and a half for the repair. Since I have a larger SUV I transported the chairs to and from the location. But they do have a pick-up and delivery service that would be needed if the furniture was larger. I got a call on 2/10/11 letting me know my chairs are done. Since the location is only open until 4 p.m. weekdays I opted to pick up my chairs Saturday morning.I'm really please with the work. All my chairs are very solid and the joints are no longer constantly coming apart. I may even take my dining room table to them at a later time for some refinishing and staining. I would recommend Furniture Physicians to anyone who needs their furniture repaired.

The quality of the work is excellent...if they could match with the communication and commitment on delivery they would be great. The follow up is all on the customer....commitments for delivery dates needs a lot of improvement.

It went well. They picked up the furniture and took it back to their facility to refinish. It took a couple weeks to complete and they called for me to pick up the furniture. One piece looked brand new and they gave me staining tips for the additional piece that we only hired them to strip.

Initially, the experience seemed promising until they really got into the work. I kept having to tell the technicians, who happened to be the business owner and his wife, repeatedly to go back over things because the job was insufficient. I was still seeing dents and scratches.

After they left, the damage that they were supposed to repair was still evident, and they did not repair a stripped knob on one of the chest. I called them back and got endless phone tag. They would call me at home when I would instruct them to call me at work. The number I was given to call them back on was a cell phone, and often times I would call back right away, and it would be turned off or no one would answer.

Ultimately, I got the furniture manufacturer to send me a new knob for free. I called the owner's wife and informed her of this. She called back, said that was great, as far as the scratches and dents left that no repair job is going to make them totally invisible, and that unless I had anything else our business was done.

Given that, I proceeded to polish the furniture and found that the finishing spray they sprayed all over my furniture left streaks and circular spots on some of my furniture. So, I called them back three times times over a three week period before I got them to respond. They agreed to show up 6 P.M. on July 13, 2010 to go over the furniture a second time. Oddly, despite the information being in their files and having visited me once before they called that afternoon asking for my apartment number and left a voice message. I returned the call around 3:40 PM and gave them the apartment number. They never showed up and never called. I called at 6:40 PM asking where they were and got voice mail. I called the following morning, told them I would have appreciated a phone call if they couldn't show up, and asked them if they plan on coming back out to finish the work because if not I was going to pursue other means to rectify the situation. I got voice mail.

Nine days later, they called and wanted to plan a visit early the following week. Once again, they called my home during business hours. They never addressed their no-show from a week and a half earlier. At that point, I had already gotten word of another furniture repair service that was reputable and scheduled an inspection with them. The assessment was the work that was done was shoddy and had to be done over again. One of the chips was actually filled with wax! The assessor rubbed it, and it flaked off. It also didn't blend in with the rest of the furniture. I returned Furniture Physician's call and, once again, got voice mail. I left a message indicating that I was tired of games & phone tag, that I had another inspector look at the furniture, and they determined, as I expected, that the work they did was inferior. I said that our business was done and that I would be seeking legal action to recoup my losses. Furniture Physicians returned my call at home during working hours and left a very snide and unprofessional message on my machine. (i.e. They asked "Is the company that said the work was inferior the same one that was initially going to charge me three times more?")

I attempted suing them in Franklin County, OH court to recoup my losses.

UPDATE 9/8/10: I had my day in court today, but because of a mistake the court made, the case had to be rescheduled. Annette and one other girl from Furniture Physicians actually started debating the case with the court clerk like she was the judge, and they outright lied to her saying that they called me back right away after they failed to show up for the follow-up appointment. Fortunately for me, I have a detailed call listing for all of my phone numbers to disprove them.

UPDATE 10/19/10: Went to court, and the judge (Dennis Kimball - Franklin County, OH Municipal Court) was instantly and unnecessarily rude to me. He was much more polite to Furniture Physicians although they lied again saying they stayed until 7 PM working on my furniture. Once again, my phone records can prove they left around lunchtime. The only evidence they submitted was a printout of their website where they made grandiose claims regarding their workmanship. The judge indicated his decision by mail at a later date.

FINAL VERDICT: The judge's attitude seemed to indicate that he was looking for a reason to find against me. In fact, it seemed like he made his decision once he laid eyes on me. He asked if I had an industry expert to testify. This is small claims court. Why would I have to do that? Despite presenting over a dozen pictures (four of them attached due to space limitations) taken after Furniture Physicians performed their work, detailed records from my phone company showing every call made, and proving to the court that Furniture Physicians lied twice, I lost my case.

I filed an objection requesting another hearing so I could present expert witness testimony. I also asked for the case to be heard by another judge since based on the evidence I presented and that the burden of proof was "preponderance of the evidence", it was clear to me that I met the burden of proof and felt the judge might be biased. Maybe he knew the defendant. Maybe this was something political where the county realized they get more in taxes from the defendant than from me. Maybe he just didn't like my smell. I don't know.

The response that came back from the court asked me to provide a transcript of the court hearing or supply a "statement of fact". Well, the transcript is actually theirs, and they wanted me to pay $220 for it, and no one could tell me what a "statement of fact" was. I had to consult with an attorney.

Clearly, they were trying to make it as difficult as possible for me to win my case. The cost of securing an industry witness and paying for a transcript certainly defeats the purpose of using small claims court to eliminate the exhorbant costs of suing someone. My request for another hearing was not even addressed. It was clear to me for some reason or another they didn't want me to win my case. Needless to say, I lost the objection as well.

The same judge ruled on the objection. In his write-up, he didn't take anything that I stated in my objection filing or my "statement of fact" into account, and some of the things he stated I testified to were not correct. He said that I could not recall dates. That wasn't true; I had dates in my records from my phone bill to which I could tie back everything that happened. He also said that I told Furniture Physicians not to call me at work. That wasn't true either; how could he know that anyway, and if I did say that then why did they call me at work on July 13, 2010?

The Franklin County, OH judicial system does not protect or look out for the interest of it's citizens, and based on another prior experience this isn't the first time they have failed me. Just because I lost my case does not vindicate these people. Take a look at the pictures. Pictures don't lie.

Unfortunately, due to space limitations I can't attach all of the evidence here, but I am willing to provide this if you are thinking about doing business with these people. My email address is privateone@att.net Ask me for more information, and I will give it to you. Once you take a look at it, you be the judge and tell me if the court's decision was legitimate. Also, check out the pictures I attached to my review of Coup Restorations, the company that ultimately repaired my furniture.

In closing, I strongly advise you to think long and hard before dealing with these people because the court system in Franklin County, OH will not help you.

UPDATE 1/30/12: Another move, more damage, and another furniture repair. I could not rehire the folks that corrected Furniture Physician's mistakes due to the out-of-market price differen

I contacted Furniture Physicians and asked if they could repair an antique, family heirloom, rocking chair. Communication with the company is usually not direct. I had to leave messages and wait for their return calls. I dropped the rocker off on August 21 at their Johnstown Rd. location. I waited 3 weeks for them to call with an estimate on fixing a broken spindel. It took at least 2 calls. I accepted their quote of $85 and their advice that even when repaired they could not recommend that any one sit in the chair. I waited to hear from them that the chair was ready to be picked up but heard nothing. Finally on Sept. 21, I called again and asked if the chair was ready. I was told they had called me to say it was done but I never received a call or message on my voice mail. We made arrangements for pick up of the chair at their St. Rt. 605 location. I am very pleased with the repair however I found it difficult to communicate with this company.

They called me right back. The first time I called was just for some questions, like what there prices were and how they did it. I then set up a time to bring the doors into them. They had the doors done within a week. They will be doing the rest of our doors.
