This young man has experience beyond his years. He took my old shabby bathroom and gave me a beautiful and professionally done new one. He takes a lot of pride in what he does and will settle for nothing but the best job he can do. He has a natural gift for tile work. I love my new bathroom! <br /> <br />

Anthony Gandolfo gave a very reasonable quote for our bathroom remodel. He laid out plans clearly and gave us day-to-day updates throughout the process. The job took a little longer than expected--3.5 weeks as opposed to 2.5 weeks, however there were unexpected delays. <br /> Anthony does beautiful tile work!! Please be sure that he is the one on the team that does this part of the job, as he is meticulous. He doesn't mind you pointing out any little detail that might need more attention. The only major problem during the job was a leak that was discovered in a heating line after the ceiling had already been sheet rocked. Anthony addressed the issue quickly and his plumber was came to the house later that day to eventually fix the issue. <br /> Both bathrooms turned out great! There was an unresolved plumbing issue in the main bathroom (the shower runs ever so slightly while running a bath), however overall we are very satisfied with how it turned out. My family would definitely consider hiring Gandolfo Contracting again in the future. <br />

He asked me to take pictures of the sink bases so he could purchase the correct fitting for the sinks, which i thought was very thoughtful. I texted pictures and emailed him. When he arrived he said he had closed the angies list email and wouldn't be dealing with angies list anymore so he didn't receive anything. He had purchased some fittings, but they were incorrect and incomplete. <br /> One vanity mirror was fine. The other was cut out completely crooked to the light, and he said "yeah, cant really fix it now." Which is an absurd answer. The installation of the vanity was incomplete and had to be completely redone. He attached the cold to the hot and the hot to the cold so the valves were opposite. <br /> the shelving was hung too low to the floor which was just explained to me as something I would have to live with. <br /> I went to two plumbing supply store to pick up everything needed for the kitchen sink and vanity sink but neither was installed correctly. <br /> The kitchen sink was again installed backwards and he hooked up the dishwasher to the cold line instead of the hot, which he was completely aware of but said his time was up and he was not going to fix it. <br /> Then when he was leaving he wanted me to pay for all the plumbing supplies he had purchased. I would have been fine with paying for the two pieces he used but he wanted me to pay for eveything and then return it on my own time. At this point I was so frustrated that almost nothing that needed to get done was done correctly, I refused. <br /> <br /> Poor communication, poor results. He said he wasn't interested in doing anything with angies list anymore and it was apparent that he had no intention in doing things correctly. <br /> <br />

We were pleased from start to finish with the installation of the crown moulding in our guest bedroom. We were satisfied with the quality of the work and how beautiful the moulding looked. Anthony Gandolfo and his coworker Bob treated us in a friendly, courteous yet professional manner. They were knowledgeable about all aspects of the installation and addressed all our questions and concerns. They matched up the design on the crown moulding in every corner of the room and even shaved the moulding in one area to compensate for a low spot in the ceiling to perfection. We were confident choosing this company to do the job since they were on Angie's List. We highly recommend Gandolfo Contracting of Long Island, NY (516)882-7912 to others. What I wanted to be done: I wanted the company to make two boxes for the radiators, put wainscoting on an island ( i have the panels all that needed done was cutting and gluing), and change 2 doors. What was done: They changed one door for an hour. They moved on to the next door and suggested re-framing. They re framed the door area cut the door and didn't put the hinges on. They also did a banister for my stair case for the stairway which took 45 mins. I have lived in this home for 15 years and I have had experiences with contractors before What I paid for and what I received was drastically different. I have realistic expectations on how long things should take. I know the difference between being precise and wasting time. If this company would have done the job at in reasonable time at a reasonable pace I would have hired them again. But as of now what I received for the price I paid was not worth the time or money. When I spoke to the owner Anthony he said they would come back but I would have to pay an additional charge which is unacceptable. I have used many of Angie's List deals and never had an issue before but this time was a complete wash.

"[member name removed] had purchased one of the online deals that we offer on Angies List called "2 General Contractors for a Day". This deal which includes two Laborers to complete a laundry list of items within an 8 hour day, in which all materials are to be provided for by the customer. After waiting almost 1 hour for Barbara to show up at the job site and open the door for my men, Bobby and Rich spent almost 30 minutes removing what seemed to be over 100 cans of cat food that were blocking the entrance. After commencing work they realized that Barbara was completely unprepared and indecisive about the work she wished to be completed. The 1 day deal that we offer as a promotion on Angeis List Requires the customer to provide all materials and have them ready for us when we arrive. Don't get me wrong, I always explain to the customer when scheduling a job that they might be unaware of exactly which products to purchase and I always offer my services for a free consultation. In this case Barbara was certain she had purchased everything correctly and did not need any of my proffesional advice. Bobby had to make several trips to Home Depot with Barbara to purchase what was necessary, which is never a problem for us but obviously cuts into time where we could be getting real work done. Barbara obviously had not a clue of the amount of work she demanded from her 1 day deal. A custom wooden radiator cover requires skilled carpentry, is usually done in a wood shop, and in most cases costs more than the actual 1 day deal that Barbara had purchased. Bobby and Rich did the best they could to finish everything on her list without rushing the progress. My men had told me that before they had a chance to nearly finish the first project Barbara was pulling them away to make them start another one. This type of behavior and interference from a customer is only counter-productive, but none the less Bobby and Rich did as they were told and Bobby happens to be such a nice guy he actually worked through lunch into a full 8 hour day. I always tell my workers and make sure that a job is never rushed and done right the first time. Gandolfo Contracting is committed to making all of our customers happy every step of the way, but as I'm sure you all know there are just some people that will never be satisfied. After speaking with Barbara over the phone after my men left, I offered to come and do a walk through and help clear up the situation, But unfortunately after she hung up on me I never heard from her again."

These guys are terrific!! Anthony appraised me of the cost of materials and set to work immediately, reframing and replacing 2 windows that were lost during Hurricane Sandy. They replaced siding and repaired shelves. The place never looked so could. They were efficient, fair, trustworthy and caring. I will use them again - I can finally say I have a contractor! I recommend them to any and all. The price estimate reflect Big Deal price and the cost of materials.

It is beautiful and a quality job. Not only are the bricks laid wonderfully, but they are set in cement and not just in sand. This will help to avoid settling and sinking. We would recommend Anthony and his company without reservation. They are GREAT!

They picked up the new windows and all materials needed for us, arrived on time, were friendly and professional and did a great job installing the windows. As the old windows they were removing were in very poor shape and were rotted in areas, it wasn't as simple as some installations may be, but they were able to replace the windows efficiently with great results. We plan on using them again for additional work and would definitely recommend them to others.

<p>We cannot say enough about Anthony and his company. He was professional, polite, and did a beautiful job. He did the "leg work" for us and emailed us a picture of the doors with the specs and found them a local supplier. This was so much better than being sent to Home Depot! All we had to do was go sign for the doors and pay for them - Anthony did the rest. Not only did Anthony and Jules to a beautiful job, they cleaned up everything and hauled it away. </p> <p>Just as an aside, the night before we had a storm, and a tremendous branch fell onto to the garage. I asked Anthony and Jules if they could help me get it off of the garage. They did it themselves, and repair a gutter that had been damaged by the branch. To me, this really says something special - they are good people.</p> <p>When we need any sort of home improvement in the future, Gandolfo Contracting will be my first call!</p>

"This particular job that we completed was a deal that we offer on Angies List for 2 GENERAL CONTRACTORS FOR A DAY. The deal offers our services for 1 day not including the cost of any material or rubbish removal. All Material is to be provided by the customer and have ready on the job site at the start date. However we understand that some customers in dealing with certain jobs may not understand exactly what kind of material to buy. [member name removed] was a very nice lady and we offered to pick up all the material and deliver to the job site. On this particular job a third man was sent out to pick up material during the day so that the 2 mechanics on site would not have to leave the job, even though the deal only includes 2 General Contractors for the day. We completed everything that was on [member name removed] list as well as these extras mentioned at no additional charge. Thank you [member name removed] and it was a pleasure."

PERFECTLY! What an easy experience Gandolfo Contracting made this. I am so thrilled EVERY time I walk I to my kitchen. I purchased this service as a BIG DEAL on Angie's list and it was done within a few days. It could not have been easier. Using Angie's list to send messages back and forth was perfect for me! I did speak with Anthony the owner and he was polite and easy to speak to. I picked out what tiles I wanted and sent him the SKU and he picked it all up on the way to my house. They worked with me on my times as only afternoon is available for me to have work done. They arrive on time started right away was finished in a couple of hours and even went beyond and did a few extra touches for me that I had asked about. I will use them again in fact spoke to them before they left about other work I wish to have done. They were easy to deal with and very neat all was clean when they left. I am very happy I did this and happier that I chose Gandolfo construction. It is easy to see why they have an "A" rating!
