Garage Doctor

Selected via Angi, Garage Doctor reviewed the request at arrived on 10/6/24 and installed a new garage door with parts. Verbally indicated the garage door warranty coverage and his installation coverage & sent me an Angi screenshot of the warranties on 10/6/24 ; 10 yrs on all parts/ 5 yrs on his labor. Text pic of bent garage door panel to Garage Doctor on 12/12/24 and was told by Garage Doctor that the panel damage was not covered. Additionally text communication from Garage Doctor said that the warranty covers springs, hinges, cables, end bearings and rollers and that the manufacturer (Mud-America Door (from 123) does not provide warrant info for him; he made his own warranty. December 21, 2024, the garage door newly installed 10/6/24 stopped working. I released the door with the emergency cord and upon further inspection, from inside the garage, the rail to the right was not aligned, was off track, not secure (loose screws/bolts) and stopped the motor from raising the door up and down. The door hit the out of line rail and would not operate. At the same time, standing in the garage, the metal wire on the left side of the garage door was unraveled from the pulley at the top of the garage door. I sent pics of the unaligned rail and unraveled wire to Garage Doctor, who arrived at the residence 12/22/24 for repair. At that time I indicated to Garage Doctor that the bent panel was caused by the unaligned rail. Garage Doctor said they would replace the panel. Garage Doctor aid Christmas was coming as well as New Year and they needed to look at their finances. I reached out to Garage Doctor via text 1/15/25 asking for a date and time he would be replacing the panel as discussed 12/22/23/24. Garage Doctor replies that times been hard, he late on bills but just got a big job and if it goes thru he'll have some money. I text Garage Doctor back saying that I need a date and time for the panel replacement as discussed; business is business. I recently no reply so we called Garage Doctor and inquired for a date and time for the panel replacement per the 12/22/24 agreement. Garage Doctor said we should be blessed that he's paying for another panel (agreement confirmation on the panel) & that my son should be more respectful to someone that's offering a free panel (agreement confirmation again). I text Garage Doctor a quasi demand letter for a date and time for the panel replacement indicating a written response to the date and time request by COB, Friday, January 18, 2025. At this juncture, I request a full refund of $936.00 from Garage Doctor as I am no longer comfortable interacting with the company. Personal interactions have no bearing on business transactions and garage Doctor injected personal ("need to respect") communications in this business agreement. I ask that Garage Doctor Not return to my home and issue the requested refund post haste so I may purchase a other garage door from a more reputable company that backs up their 5 year installation warranty, as the shoody installation caused the panel damage. Additionally, I live in an HOA community and am subject to inspections and need my garage door in working order. Interactions with Garage Doctor are unprofessional and peppered with excuses not to honor their installation warranty. In addition to my request for a full refund, I request Garage Doctor be removed from Angi as a pro because Garage Doctor can't be a pro if they fail to honor their installation work and unfortunately, my next filed complaint with be with the TX Attorney General, then Small Claims Court for additionally damages. Excellent! Carlos was very quick and accommodating, and did good work for a fair price. He responded to my inquiry, hung my garage door back onto the tracks, serviced and reset everything as good as new in under 12 hours from the time the garage had broken. Awesome service, would recommend.

Carlos was the quickest to respond out of any Angi listed businesses and as best and quickly as possible repaired and replaced worn garage door parts while also giving helpful indicators and was professional to not damage vehicles parked in the garage while working with his assistant to keep track of operations and turns. Carlos understood the needs to not quickly drive off before full smooth garage door checks were done and ensure repair and replacement was done with care.
