Gary The Handyman

We used “Gary” for some work and I’m left incredibly frustrated with the poor quality work and his response. I would never recommend nor use them ever again. We paid nearly $2k for drywall work and a few other smaller tasks. Handyman was nice but didn’t wear a mask and left his work area extremely dirty, splashing paint on random walls/floors. The drywall work was not good as some cracks reappeared immediately (didn’t use tape, just quickly slapped mud on), and the paint was horribly matched- like not even close (which Gary shrugged off a picture of by claiming “we say we can’t match” in the fine print), and the cherry on top was tub caulking that literally peeled off upon the first shower days later. His website touts a two year warranty (but not on drywall or paint, so thanks), but if you aren’t happy with the quality of work performed by your handyman he subcontracts out to, he just responds with “XYZ is really good, I’ll send him back out to fix it to your satisfaction.” How about no! They messed it up the first time, why would I trust them again? We’re now having to repay for all that work to be redone correctly. Never trust a handyman who has to advertise on Google to get business and never trust someone who subcontracts out to the lowest bidder. Gary overcharges per job and they underperform. Do not trust the reviews.

Richard and David did an excellent job on each project. It was a pleasure to work with them. We will definitely use Gary’s services again.

I highly recommend Gary & Richard. There was a lot of work done, and it was done exceptionally! The entrance, exit, and restroom doors to my restaurant were in great need of repair. The doors are used heavily. Richard was very thorough and has an excellent eye for detail and takes enormous pride in his work. If you need a Handy Man Service, go with Gary's Handyman Service! Excellent job on swing assembly Excellent job on hanging peg board Installer informed me it was the wrong type of cat door too install, which I appreciated so that was not accomplished on the day the work was performed therefore is not assessed in the rating. My frustration was with the quality of the paint job to the new door. The person did an good job at smearing the paint - I can see that it was covered. However, I was assured that quality paint would be utilized. When the workman arrived and I mentioned that they were providing paint the response was "I think I have some in the truck". It was clear that paint had not been purchased for this specific job. The door shows gray metal (color of the new door) through the white paint. I've had several folks ask me if I was gonna paint that door. When I contacted Gary he told me it would be the same price to get this resolved (second coat of paint as the first coat.). I believe that $327 to paint double doors a second time because the first coat did not cover it is not a reasonable price. He did not bother to come take a look himself at the cost estimate or the finished product. Therefore I cancelled any remaining work and decided to seek an alternate provider to install the pet door and I probably will just paint the door myself. I included a picture of the paint job. Hopefully you can see the color variations.

I called Gary the Handyman to find the source of moisture ingress on our roof and to replace the rotting wood resulting from the moisture ingress. The estimator arrived at the appointed time. He did a very good job explaining his observations. He was very thorough and professional. I received the quotation the next day. The quotation was reasonable. The repair person arrived on the expected day. He did a very good job. He found that the damage was more extensive than first predicted. He communicated the changes to me. I authorized the additional repairs. The repairs were completed in a timely fashion. I highly recommend Gary the Handyman. I will definitely use them again.

Went very well. In fact when final invoice came it was less than original estimate.

The two men that came over were very professional and showed up on time. They got the work done in efficiently(I thought maybe they would be there all day). I was very pleased with the result and would call Gary again to do more work around the house.

I had a list of small jobs that had to be done by a specific date. When Gary came out and took my requirements, I was mildly surprised to see how very tech-enabled his operation is. Pictures and written notes went into his tablet. When his workers came out they knew what they were supposed to do. All repairs were completed by the specified date and the work quality was high. I would hire this company again.

I scheduled a free estimate with Gary and we went over my list of To Do's from our home inspection. After receiving the quote, I prioritized items and we scheduled the work. Jeremy called the day prior to give me an update on arrival and impacts of weather. It took 3 partial days to do the work, mainly due to rain preventing some outdoor repairs and painting to be accomplished effectively. Jeremy kept me posted and even identified an area that required our immediate attention. The workmanship was well done and timely given the weather. I will definitely give Gary a call this fall to tackle other items on my list.

Gary the Handyman really came through for us. We had a situation where our front storm door broke and was stuck in the frame with the deadbolt locked. The door itself was fine but the handle/lock needed replaced. The day of the repair went very smoothly and Gary's assistant had the door out, repaired, and put back in no time. The cost was very reasonable and was a big cost savings to me as the alternative would have been getting a brand new door installed.

We absolutely loved Gary’s team‘s’ service from start to finish. The website was straightforward to use and gave us quick (and very competitive) quotes. They were very flexible about changing the start date, and, they did a fantastic job. They were super lovely and very hardworking. They managed expectations well, and worked with our schedules. Highly recommend!!

Gary came over recorded all of the work items to be completed taking pictures on his tablet. He responded within a few days with a detailed price list. I requested some of the work to be done and it was scheduled promptly. Jeremy was assigned, and he did an excellent job very thorough in his work as well as accessing my roof to fix some hard to reach siding. They even fabricated a new piece of metal fascia to attach on the roof. I was impressed with Jeremy. Overall, very pleased and would hire again without hesitation

The handyman was on time and very professional. Work was done in a timely manner. Would use the company again for our next handyman project.

All repairs were completed to our satisfaction quickly. We were very impressed with the workmanship from our first series of repairs commissioned through Gary. Jeremy was his usual efficient and careful craftsman. We will certainly call Gary The Handyman again if we have need of repairs.

It was great. The repair was good, the flooring looks good, the price was reasonable. All debris was taken away and the (previously repaired) toilet was set back in place with a new seal.

Very satisfied. James and Walt did excellent work. My deck is like new and my windows are showroom. The long overdue powerwash saved me an assumed exterior paint job. Courteous and professional. They pay close attention to details not just completing the job. Would definitely rehire.

Both Gary and Jeremy were very professional, listened to my questions and made suggestions. The work was completed as well as possible as the damage was worse than originally suspected. Jeremy showed me photos of the damage and described my options. I was able to opt for a quick fix to get us through the winter and will be calling them back in the spring to replace the window.

Gary was prompt in his visit to gather specifics to provide a quotation for the projects and had the quote delivered quickly. He quickly responded to my questions about minor changes to the projects and was able to schedule our work within a few days of acceptance of his quotation. The worker who was assigned to our projects, Jeremy, was a pleasure to have on the job. He was professional, efficient, a great craftsman and meticulous at cleanup at the end of the day. Jeremy readily discussed the next steps in the project and solicited input from us although we always agreed with his suggestions. There was a small additional charge at the end of the project because one of the components was more involved than originally expected but that was not unexpected. The repairs made blended quite well with the surrounding structure and have enhanced the look of our home. We have already asked Gary for quotes for additional work on our home.

Everything went very smoothly. The handyman (Jeremy) was on time and very skilled. Even though the sink was very heavy, he got it in place and installed very quickly. It looks spectacular!

Fabulous! I contacted Gary and within 30 minutes he responded via text and phone and I had my job scheduled within my required time frame and it was completed within a week. The work was completed in a professional manner and we were thrilled with the price! I would definitely hire him again and would recommend him to others.

Very well. Ther was a holdup on window delivery as window supplier delivered wrong size. Gary notified me immediately about delay.
