The company is headed by Gerald "Jed" Schackner, who has been running the business since 2003. Jed is a Master Carpenter and Residential Contractor. The company specializes in home additions/renovations and both interior/exterior home improvements. Garages, outer buildings, porches, decks, basement remodel and custom built-ins are some of the offerings, meeting all home owners building needs. He specializes in historic/vintage restoration. And.....he is familiar with the craftsmanship and uniqueness of this area, thus he has built a solid base of referrals. He offers experience, fair and reasonable rates, technical detail, a neat and clean working area and pride in his work. The complete job was excellent! Jed and his crew worked well together and were on time. Plumber was professional, on time, did a good job and pleasant. His name was Nick Zaharie. The Century Electric Inc. did good work. New vinyl floor by Interior Designs was done very well and install in short amount of time.

The work was well done and all details were addressed. Honored the price even when additional structural issues were identified - high degree of integrity. The work looks great. We were very pleased and are scheduled for an interior renovation project with G A Schackner now. We had obtained three bids for the original work. G A Schackner price was competitive but the proposed scope was much more thorough and inclusive than the other contractors. After meeting with Jed, we were convinced they were the better value and they they proved that to be true. Jed's focus on the quality of the work, his care and attention to detail, etc., are refreshing. We have already recommended Jed (G A Schackner) to friends and would recommend them to you. <br /> <br />

He remodeled our laundry room. He did such a great job at a reasonable price that we continued to use him for various jobs since. He is a stickler for detail. In my opinion, that's what's most desirable trait in a contractor. He is also very personable, and doesn't get upset when you add stuff to a job. Other contractors I have used have gotten upset. I would highly recommend them for all building and remodeling needs.
