Working with Gen Services was great! My husband and I wanted to stop using floor lamps in our kids rooms and called probably 5 other companies. We received quotes between $500-$2500. Gen services was the most reasonable by far. They used the the existing light switch and cut a hole (there was attic access)

Work completed except we cannot locate or reset the GFI. I’ve been trying to resolve this for most of a year. Sean the owner came out once and reset the gfi but didn’t tell us how to do it ourselves. The post light has not worked for months. We are pretty handy so this should be easy. Despite numerous calls and one or two appointments Sean has not come to our house to fix this issue. He doesn’t show up when he says he will and he doesn’t call back. I tried to get Angie’s List involved but they said we had to write a review first. Sean I hope this review gets your attention and you SHOW us how to reset the gfi ASAP

"[Member Name Removed], The coupon was to book the call. You had Gen diagnose your electrical problem.Gen diagnose, replaced a GFCI, and you had 1 hour of labor 1:02 pm - 2:26 pm. Which does not include us going to supply house. Was you excepting for us to do all that above for the coupon of $49 ? The total with the service call fee $279.74. The total with the coupon was $181.74 You save over 35% by getting that coupon."

they didn't fix the issue. They came out 3 different times and could not decide what the issue was. They told me i NEEDED to change on the receptacles in my house and that could help. I feel they did a horrible job and will never use them again.

GEN Services came in, figured out the issues, fixed them quickly, communicated when items might cost more money and were friendly and courteous while doing it. One item was a bit tougher to tackle and they came back another day the next week to finish up the job. Overall, they did great work and communicated well. I'll use them again for any future electrical work that I need done.

The electrician who came out and did the work was very professional and completed the work quickly and told me that one thing on the Home Inspectors list did not need to be done. I was very satisfied with the work. The part that had me feeling uncomfortable was that after purchasing a deal on Angie's List and thinking that these small jobs could be completed in the hours covered by the deal, the owner came out and quoted a price much higher for the work. I had already purchased the deal and I really needed the work completed to move forward with the sale of my condo. Again, I am very satisfied with the work quality and the electrician who completed it, I do feel that I may have been taken advantage of on price.

The Coupon states labor only for 4 hours in which you had a total of 10 hours labor + material. Gen is sorry that we cannot satisfy ever customer with pricing. Everything went well. He did arrive an hour later than originally scheduled but notified me of their late arrival. The electrician completed the work in less time than the 2 hours we paid for. He did a great job.

They came out promptly to look at it and replaced the fixture. However, now neither the fixture not the outlet work. I have called and emailed at least 4 times and have not had any response. I've been told they'd call me back twice but no one has returned my call. Now I need to hire another electrician to come out and really fix it (I hope).

They showed up. I told them what I wanted, they spent the time turning on and off switches. When an hour passed by and nothing was done, I told them the most important thing for me is to put a power unit next to the Wifi and computer so we do not have wires all along the room. Kevin came back with an estimate of $700 and said they will take the money that I paid you off and this I can pay $600 only. Meanwhile, they messed up my circuit and did nothing, absolutely nothing, else to justify their presence.

"Thank you for the review, Your self purchased 2 hours of electrical labor,in which does not include a new installation of a floor receptacle circuit. Your existing electric was already a problem with the receptacle being on a 3 way switch to begin with. Gen gave you the right path to follow. With a new installation of a electrical circuits there are provisions that need to be addressed. Permit, material and Inspection are included in the estimate. I am sorry that you wanted work done but not willing to provide all the necessary parts in place for Gen to do this work properly. Then you asked for a refund from my electrician because you did not want to go any further.Gen is not responsible for you choosing the wrong coupon but we are always willing to help understanding issue for a better resolution."

The replacement of the ceiling fan went well. This was an Angie's List deal - 2 hour electrical service for $109. The ceiling fan took approx. 1 hour so I asked them to replace an outlet. They did not carry the outlet and didn't think they could get to the hardware store (1.5miles away) and back and replace the outlet in the 1 remaining hour so I did not have them do it. If they had gone over the hour it would have cost me an additional $50+ for extra time beyond the hour.

The young men who did the work were efficient and polite. I paid extra for the rental of the long ladder and the extra time needed for the job.
