"[Member Name Removed] contacted Georgia Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning on Saturday 07/08 and we answered his call. During the initial conversation, we advised that our weekend emergency service call fee is $98.00 and that our standard weekday service call fee is $69.00. Mr. [Member Name Removed]chose to receive the emergency service rather than waiting until Monday morning. We dispatched a service technician who arrived within 1-hour of the initial phone call requesting service. The technician promptly diagnosed the issue as a failed thermostat. Mr. [Member Name Removed]was provided with pricing options for a standard thermostat and for a wifi enabled thermostat. Mr. [Member Name Removed]chose to have the standard thermostat installed and the technician left to pickup the replacement thermostat. Our technician then arrived within :45 minutes to install the replacement thermostat. Mr. [Member Name Removed]then confirmed the system operation and that the cooling system was operational. The invoice provided to Mr. [Member Name Removed]included the emergency service call fee of $98.00, the thermostat replacement of $70.00, and the installation and configuration of the thermostat at $50.00 - the total invoice equaling $218.00. Mr. [Member Name Removed], as of Saturday afternoon during the initial call, has not once recontacted our office directly. Mr. [Member Name Removed]chose to send text messages to the service technician demanding that the thermostat be returned so that he could purchase a different thermostat. Our technician explained that we cannot return a used and working thermostat for the sole purpose of purchasing a new thermostat on Amazon. The technician also refused to return to install any thermostat provided by Mr. [Member Name Removed]because our company did not acquire the item from our industry suppliers. Mr. [Member Name Removed]then sent additional text messages to the technician stating that he is a thief and a lier; all of which was by Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s own choosing. Nonetheless, Mr. [Member Name Removed]still has not contacted our office directly and continues to contact the technician. The same technician who has taken it upon himself to still speak to Mr. [Member Name Removed]and arrange for a different technician to meet with him on Wednesday 07/12 @ 10:00am free of charge to confirm the thermostat operation. We, as a company, completed the service call request on a Saturday all within 2.5-hours of the initial phone call. We provided up-front and detailed options with complete pricing, and we completed the repair the same day and for the exact agreed upon price. The total price Mr. [Member Name Removed]paid to have emergency weekend service and to have the cooling system restored was only $218.00. It was not until two full days after the service was completed that Mr. [Member Name Removed]contacted our technician and demanded that we return the purchased thermostat so that he could buy his own on Amazon. We do apologize to Mr. [Member Name Removed]that we cannot return a working thermostat given the fact that the exact thermostat is what Mr. [Member Name Removed]requested in the first place. Our suppliers will not accept a returned item that is in working condition; we can only return damaged and non-functioning items."
