They did okay work. It was a husband and wife team. They were just friendly, hard working people. They did a great job. It took them maybe an hour and a half or two. It was reasonable. They did leave the area clean.

This company has honesty and integrity--the most important qualities I could ask for in a contractor. They are fairly priced and they will do what they say! Could not recommend them more.

The good:
- The people were friendly for the most part
- They did good work in some ways
- Their subcontractors did good work
- They gave us a quartz counter top "for free" for our desk
- They did a couple extra things without charging us
- Everything looks good (if you don't look too closely)
The bad:
- I did not like the communication in the beginning, but I hoped, based on the reviews they got, that they would do a good job. I was disappointed with a lot of things - see below.
- I had to prepare my own detailed cost estimate (based on their difficult to understand e-mails) and get them to let me know if my estimate was correct or not. They would only give me a lump sum price and very little detail on what I was getting.
- They seemed to have never worked with the Cabinet Factory before. It was almost impossible to get any information about the cabinets we bought prior to signing a contract. Neither Get It Done (GID) or the Cabinet Factory wanted to talk to us about them. In the beginning I asked for no fiberboard and ended up with lots of fiberboard. Also, GID apparently does not know what fiberboard is - they were trying to tell me the kick-boards were not fiberboard (they are). The cabinets seem pretty low quality although at the time I was told by the Cabinet Factory that the cabinets I was getting were good quality and approaching the cost of the high end cabinets. One of the sliders in the pantry broke right away because there was too much weight. I never had this problem with my previous cabinets.
- They used wax crayon as paint in many locations on the cabinets. This is bad because it is not intended as paint, it is sticky, and wipes off easily.
- They told me it would be $100 more per fixture (about $1000) for LED under cabinet lighting. I still don't understand why they say it costs that much more. The lights they installed get very hot.
- There was very little attention to detail. They were going to stop the peninsula cabinets about 6 inches short of the end of the floor tile. It would have looked really silly - fortunately, I caught it in time and got them to adjust it.
- They put two joints in my crown molding about 12 inches apart and did a poor job with the joints. It looks very bad.
- The painting of the walls was bad. They missed lots of areas and they wanted me to mark all the areas they missed for them.
- They did not plan out the closet desk and shelves well at all. I told them I wanted a shelf for a TV, and they gave me shelves that weren't wide enough. Then they rigged it to work after lots of discussion.
I had some old grout that was pulling away from the shower wall in a couple places and needed to be replaced. The business owner looked at it and said epoxy grout is the way to go because it is very strong and long-lasting in a shower. He also said we did not need to pull anything up or replace tile floor. We did not use the shower for weeks and continued to run a dehumidifier for another few weeks before the work was done. The work was done and we continued to run the dehumidifier for another week before we used the shower. So fast forward about 8 months...the epoxy grout has disintegrated into crumbling powder the entire way around. We haven't been able to use the shower for weeks now and have had to use our guest room shower in the meantime. I called Get It Done Contracting over a week ago, explained problem and left my phone number. Never received a return call. Cost was about $275.
Response from Get It Done Contracting, Inc.
"From the initial appointment to assess the problem, the customer was told that we DO NOT recommend just trying to repair this issue by replacing the grout. We did not know what the underlying issue was, or if this would correct the problem. We as a rule, do not do "repairs" to damaged tile, missing grout etc. We prefer to do the job correctly, which requires more extensive work. This customer was adamant that she wanted just the grout replaced, so we recommended epoxy grout to try to avoid issues as much as possible in the future. We could have just dug out the grout and replaced it with the same product she had initially. We were trying to help her as much as we possibly could. We conveyed verbally as well as in our estimate and our contract, that there was no warrantee on this repair, and that we had no way of knowing if this would fix the problem. The customer was aware of this fact from the beginning. She chose to go the less expensive route as a first option to fix, I assumed. The work was specifically stated to NOT be under warranty, for all the reasons listed above. When it came time to do the work, the color was a bit hard to find. We checked 5 different distributors and eventually found the correct color. This is not something that we had to do, we could have had the customer do this legwork, but we were trying to be helpful. As she states, 8 months later she had an issue with the grout. We were not under any contractual obligation to repair this, at all. But, as epoxy grout does not normally behave like this, we felt it only right to attempt to re-do the grout. When she contacted us expecting this work to fixed, we did contact her back and scheduled a day and time to do the work. I found out that day from the customer that my tile guy called her in the morning to reschedule. She was very upset and gave the impression that this was not what she wanted and that she was very unhappy. I was not pleased either and immediately called my tile guy and was told that she was not unhappy at all with the schedule change. I do not know exactly how the conversation went, but I know my tile guy to be a professional and kind person, so I believe she did not express her feelings to him. He did go and correct the issue and apologized for any inconvenience. This customer clearly did not listen to our recommendations or read the contract she signed. Regardless, we went above and beyond to satisfy her and I don't believe there was anything we could have done to make her happy."

They were absolutely fantastic. The estimate process was very straight-forward, and the price was by far the lowest. It was a small job that they could fit in between bigger projects, but they were very accommodating of my scheduling needs. The job was done very fast and very well. I will definitely hire them again in the future.
Dave and his team of subcontractors were very professional and usually on time. I thought they did a good job. But I just had a problem with my wine cooler, which they had installed, less than 2 years ago. I tried calling owner(David) and he would not return my phone call. I thought they did a good job until I needed to have Wine cooler serviced. We could not get wine cooler out from under counter. They just put in hole, the flooring under was 3/8 in lower than the tile in front of it. I left message for owner David Smith to call me, I had a problem, he never called me back. I guess it was take the money and run. The only way to get wine cooler out was to cut up a good fairly new( 2 years old) wine cooler. I am very disappointed. I had to purchase a new wine cooler and have a contractor do it right, this time. making the flooring even before installation. Because due to the levelers in back we could not get out from under cabinets with out ruining the wine cooler. So in the long run, they cost me over $1,000 to fix what they could have doen when they did the job for less than $25.
I am very pleased with the finished bathroom. It is light, fresh, and great looking. Dave was courteous, friendly, professional, efficient , and patient with small changes. The area was kept clean and debris-free at all times. I felt comfortable with his having access to my house. Melisa was friendly and professional and did much to help me make good decisions and select the correct materials. I am pleased with everyone involved. The only downside was that it took along time to get a contract and begin the actual work

Get It Done Contracting greatly exceeded my expectations and the husband and wife co-owner team of Dave and Melisa treated our kitchen as if it was their own.

We sought estimates from four contractors in the fall of 2014 and selected Get It Done Contracting in January 2015 because they were less expensive than the others. We also felt comfortable working with Melisa. Melisa manages the initial estimate process and does the paperwork/ordering behind the scenes and Dave performs demo and manages the project on site. If you appreciate being treated like you are the only game in town, go with Get it Done.

For background, we spent about $35,000 on the project, which lasted about a month and included demo, painting, ceiling fan, pendant light, can lights, under cabinet lighting, painting (walls/ceiling), cabinets and cabinet/drawer pulls, granite countertops and a sink, 700 sq ft of tile (kitchen, laundry room, hall, foyer, bathroom), tile backsplash, toilet and stainless steel appliances. We let Dave and the gang rip out and install everything. The way Get it Done operates is that the customer purchases appliances, pulls, faucet, ceiling fan, tile back splash/grout and floor tile/grout separately. The reason for this is so you have control of the selection. The estimate takes this into account, so you aren't paying more than some of the competitors who include everything or nearly everything in their estimate. We had to go to the granite store and pick out the slabs we wanted, select the edge style for the granite, and pick out the sink style. We also went to the cabinet store to pick out the cabinet style and color.

What I like about Get it Done is that they don't subcontract to a bunch of random people. They have a tile guy, Keith, who is fantastic and does all the tiling himself. He spent about two and a half weeks in our house. By the time he left it felt like he was one of the family. I learned a lot about tiling by watching and talking with him. They have a painter, Jesse, and an electrician and plumber (can't recall their names). They were all knowledgeable, polite, courteous, and respected our home. We saw Dave and Keith more than the rest. The others were in and out pretty quickly. If I ever had an issue, Dave quickly rectified it. He always went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied.

If I had any advice, give yourself about 4-5 months of slop from the time you start researching contractors until the project is complete. We spent a couple of months selecting Get it Done, then it took about a month or so to get the cabinets in. While the cabinets are being ordered, you can purchase the appliances, tile and all the other things. The timing worked out well. Stay patient because it is a long and nerve-racking process, but it is well worth it when complete.

Ultimately, we were so happy with Get it Done that we are planning to have them give us an estimate on our master bathroom remodel. I would never recommend skipping the estimate process and throwing all your eggs in one contractor's basket, but you can't go wrong if you get just one estimate from Get it Done and then pull the trigger.

Note: I'm attaching before and after photos. We have since purchased a matching kitchen table and window treatments. Those were not in the "After" photos when I took them.

Our kitchen renovation project is now complete, and we could not be happier with the final results or Get It Done Contracting. We have never done a renovation project before, and Dave made us so comfortable from the very start, suggesting ideas, patiently answering all of our questions, and letting us know up front during the estimate that he could not predict how complicated the wall demolition would be until he could see inside the wall and kitchen soffit that was being removed. Both while we were still shopping around for a contractor and after we signed a contract with Get It Done, Melisa was always willing to take the time to answer our questions via email (in retrospect, I am a bit embarrassed at the number of emails I sent). Our project involved a substantial amount of demo, carpentry, and finishing work that Dave performed himself, as well as a substantial amount of electrical work. Dave was always happy to make small changes as the project progressed, and the final price based on ?change orders? to the original work scope was very reasonable. The electrical subcontractor was also great, and the City inspector breezed through the inspection as he was very familiar with the electrician and knew what high quality work he performed. After seeing our finished kitchen, and asking many questions of their own, our neighbors from across the street with a similar floor plan are considering a very similar project and they have contacted Get It Done for an estimate on their project. The fact that we recommended Dave to our neighbors and they have called Dave after seeing his work is the best evidence of our level of satisfaction.

We are very pleased with Get It Done Contracting, Inc. Dave and Melisa made great
effort to fit us in even though they had a booked schedule. The day after we
moved into our new home we discovered water damage in our master bathroom which
caused us to seek out a contractor for renovation. We presented Get it
Done Contracting with a drawing of the vision for the space and after a
substantial demolition, we now have exactly what we desired. The
subcontractors that Dave used for plumbing, electrical, and tile laying all did
a fantastic job. We feel that we received our money?s worth in the work
that was performed. I would recommend Dave to anyone that is interested
in making renovations to their home. Thank you Dave and Melissa for
helping us make our house a home.

GREAT! We had a little trouble communicating in the beginning; however, this was the exception. Once we started, Dave and his crew were always calling to let us know when they would be there.
Steve (the plumber) was really nice and did a fantastic job. Keith (the tile guy) was AWESOME! He was professional, talented and funny! Melisa made everything happen! If we had a question, she was the one to contact and she GOT IT DONE...or called Dave to do it.
For the most part, everyone was on time or called if they were running late. There were a few days that I had to leave while the guys were still working, and I didn't have any reservations about leaving them in the house alone. They said the job would take 3 weeks and it did.
We are very pleased with our new bathroom!

Everything went very well!

Dave and Melisa are great to work with. All of the communications were clear and concise.

Dave came out for the estimate, was clear about what the costs were and where there could be growth work as they get into the project.

We purchased the tile and grout before scheduling the work.

Keith, was the tech that did the tile work and he was very professional and kept us informed of the progress. Once he pulled-up the old floor, it was clear that the underlayment all had to be replaced with self-leveling compound. The addition cost was extremely reasonable.

We plan on contacting Get It Done Contracting for our next renovation project.

Get-It-Done provided a prompt estimate/design leading to their selection over several other contractors. Their estimate was not the cheapest(was close to lowest estimate) but my wife and I both agreed that Get-It -Done had the best idea of what we wanted, that their ideas were best suited to our vision. The contract clearly listed what they would accomplish and properly defined what we (owner) were responsible for (listed what products and actions were our responsibility). There were no cost surprises or unexpected plus ups. CI Cabinets, (reviewed separately) sealed the deal by asking my wife how she cooked and continued working with my wife to accommodate her mobility issues in kitchen/cabinet design. Work started on time, proceeded as promised with no delays until the job was done. Two problems, (tile layout for the fireplace, a phone line was not reconnected) were corrected with 24 hours) to our full satisfaction. Unique ideas included:

- a Shelf over the TV to host the sound bar. Looks great-near invisible- great sound

- mobile kitchen island that is level with the upper oven and rolls to serve as needed. Wife love it.

- lighting in the kitchen and a room now provide bright, clear vision for old eyes.

- Built-in cabinets in the living room match the kitchen that add to the open space look.

Get-It-Done was great. Courteous, professional, safe, clean, and finished on time. Rework was near none existent. Home build in 1987 is modernized to better than new condition and looks awesome. The recommendation to upgrade initial flooring to solid core bamboo and the kitchen design have resulted in positive comments from everyone who has seen them. The quality of the work was super and we feel blessed with the overall job. The value for the dollar was super considering the scope of work performed and the final costs were well within reach.

Our intent is to use Get-It-Done in the future and recommend Get-It-Done at every opportunity.

Overall, Get it done contracting did a terrific job on the remodel.
Background:The remodel was an almost complete gut of the master bathroom, to include removal of a wall, installation of a custom shower, two sink counter-top and in-floor heating. The bathroom originally had a bathtub and two sink counter, all original to the house and cheap quality. In addition, I required some drywall repair in the dining room ceiling to fix damage from a water leak.
I brought in several contractors (4 in total) to get estimates on the job. All of the estimates were very similar in terms of cost estimate. The decision to go with Get it Done. in addition to the positive reviews on this site, was based on the fact that the work estimate included getting all the proper permits and inspections required for the job. Although the plumbing and electrical rework was not major, I knew it would require proper permits. Surprisingly, other companies would not do that.
The work done on the bathroom was excellent. Dave and his subcontractors did outstanding work and were very responsive to my needs. I had family in town in the middle of the renovation, and they stopped work while they were here, and restarted after they left. The few minor issues which came up, which is inevitable in a renovation, were quickly taken care of. The quality of the work was outstanding. In particular, the tile guy did an amazing job. He was incredibly meticulous and had an amazing attention to the smallest detail. Also, the minor drywall repair to the ceiling in the dining room showed the same meticulousness. I cannot tell where the damage was, even though it is a textured ceiling.
The work done on the bathroom included removing the drywall, putting up DUROCK, using redgard waterproofing, installing a privacy wall and bench seat in the shower, putting DUROCK subfloor and self-leveling cement on the floor, in addition to the in-floor heating. They did drywall repair on the walls, as necessary, installed cabinets and granite countertops on the sink and installed a custom mirror.
In addition to the above, The owner's wife, Melissa, provides consulting services for picking out the tiles, accessories, paint colors, etc, if you require that. I did, and she provided excellent advice and guidance on the choices for those items in the bathroom.
Overall, the renovation went very well, and I am extremely happy with the results. The bathroom looks beautiful and more importantly, I am confident the work behind the exterior was very well done.

We began this job knowing the exact cabinets we wanted to use which were not part of this service. Unknowing to us the cabinets came unassembled which we thought GID would assemble and install. Additionally, the original quote seemed a bit high but, that was our ignorance and about the only negative things I have to say about GIT.

Dave and Melissa along with their subcontractors exceeded our every expectation. ALL GID and their contractors were VERY detail oriented, accommodated EVERY request, took the time to HONESTLY teach us about remodeling pitfalls to avoid and get the biggest bang for our buck. As stated earlier, I did not know the cabinets were not pre-assembled and rightfully so GID did not plan to assembling them but, Dave and Melissa are in this to feed a family AND PLEASE the customer. Dave assisted us putting them together and took care of ALL adjustments. I also mentioned a high price. When we went into this project we had no idea of the nuances that would come up and not part of the contract such as installing the Bathroom Heater fan (the run from the panel was in original contract), unleveled kitchen floor, brick style laydown of tile vice straight, rerouting electrical run for microwave and installed under counter lighting (which we did do a change order due to our after though).

When you look at things like, all of GID and subs cleanup after each work day, quickly developed trust in our home, making you feel like YOU are the most important person to them when they are on the job and WORK when they are on-site (minimal breaks) and just simply nice people sometimes you can't even buy that. We had a Halloween Soup Party and EVERY neighbor was jaw dropping impressed with the workmanship, attention to detail and quality of GID work. There is a reason they have to schedule out weeks in advance, anyone who used them previously know they are the best at what they do. This all coming from two retired Senior Chiefs in the US Navy. My wife and I love the kitchen and will definitely use Get It Done for all of our major remodeling.
