Beware Very deceptive advertisement. The ad said that "all lights must be located in one room on existing switch". My existing switch control a lamp on my bedside table. I want another switch and agreed to pay extra. I left for work and let my uncle watch them work. I come home and there was no 2nd switch. They used my existing switch to control the ceiling light. Meanwhile, the socket that control my bedside lamp stopped working when they unlink the switch. They said that that extra $75 was to run the wire to my existing switch. When I tried to tell them about the ad their answer was that the existing switch had to control the ceiling light. The ad only covered the 4 recess lights. If I did not pay for the extra $75, the recess light would would just sat on the ceiling and I would not be able to turn on or off. Why wasn't any of this explained to me prior to the installation? If I had recess lights in the room already, I wouldn't have to get 4 more recess lights. No one explained this to me until after the fact.

I needed 3 ceiling fans hung in existing places and all plugs, outlets and lights to work properly so I called and Gil's Electric to come to my new home. I took Saul around and showed him the light and switches that do not work. I had to go back to work and asked him to call me if he had any issues or questions. He offered to put my can-lights back in the kitchen which I took out myself for the painters - (They are very easy to put in) I said yes thank you so much thinking he was going to put them back. He left me a message and said everything was done and worked. At the same time he charged my credit card $2,500. I went by my home at noon to check everything out since they said they were finished and 6 ceiling can lights in my main living room still did not work. I called the office and the person who answered the phone was very rude to me and said I did not pay them to fix those lights! That was the main reason I asked them to come to the home to make sure all ceiling lights worked. I even showed Saul the exact lights and switch and told him it did not work. I work for a City and I know customer service and this company had the worst I have experienced. Instead of taking care of it, the woman at the office told me the soonest they can get back was in six days and I would have to pay again. I am so upset with this company. Do not trust or use this company. They will overcharge and if you can not stay and watch them you may be cheated. I am an honest and fair person and Gil's Electric (after paying $2,500, should have sent their crew back immediately since they charged my card and fixed the lights they were suppose to fix. After offering to snap the can lights back in the kitchen which you can reach easily - I saw on my bill that they charged me over $400.00 to put the lights back in. I would have done it myself! Guess what upset me the most was how I was treated on the phone by there office. The crew was very nice. The girl on the phone said they work for her and not to listen to the crew. I will YELP everywhere I can since I was treated so poorly. They should have just sent the crew back to fix the lights I wanted fixed at no charge after gouging and upselling me. I don't get upset easy but when someone takes advantage of me I get upset.

they made damage to the ceiling drywall, cracked it, poked holes in it, made larger holes than necessary for the lights and they just said that all they do is install the lights and don't do drywall work. how stupid and lazy - awful business mentality. craftsmen ship was horrible.

I communicated with them the entire time being on site with them. It was a continuous upselling process. They left so much damage cutting from the holes for the lights, never repaired the damage they caused including wood paneling in my attic and the worker had an attitude. They said they would come out to fix it, but never did.

The crew was on time. They upsold the LEAD with a hard sales pitch. I had them install my light switches and they never left the switches I paid for through the install. The LEAD lights started flickering in one of the rooms so I called and requested them to come out and fix it. A month later, they still haven't followed up. The lady who answers emails and phone calls (Tiffany?) is absolutely the worst person the company can have as their spokesperson. No follow up, rude. Just terrible. The crew is fast and they did a decent job on the install, except the couple of holes they left in my ceiling and the fact that they upsell you add if their life depended on it. And they wiggle their way out of giving you the advertised gift card promo they offer.

There was an unexpected charge for punching a hole in the drywall and installing a five foot copper wire from nearest light switch box to feed to each of the 4 lights. There was a second upcharge to convert from 6 inch to the modern 4 inch diameter LED lights (expected). Unfortunately one of the workers started his work early failing to understand that 4 inch was to be installed, he cut a hole for 6 inch. Now the drywall has to be patched to close the hole. They were punctual, fast & cleaned up. There is more work to do, ie convert existing 6 inch incandescent down lights on the lower two floors, those total to about 15. This work was done on the third level. I would re-hire if these things were addressed.

They were on time, worked very fast and the quality of the work was very good. I have two complaints: (1) The constant upselling. They tried to upsell me on all kinds of things -- thousands of dollars more in work than they were there to do. It was more than annoying; it was offensive. (2) They charged me far more than expected. There were hidden charges that I was not told about upfront and was only informed of after the work was done -- I would not have agreed to certain things had I known they came with these additional charges. I expected to pay just under $600 in total, including the Angie's List Deal I had bought. They ended up charging me $790 in total due to these unexpected and hidden charges.

They were rude and difficult to schedule with, and didn't show up as promised causing me to miss work and an afternoon waiting for a confirmed appointment that didn't happen... The latest they have available for the deal was 1-3pm. I arranged to be off work and called them the day of to confirm that I was on the schedule. They said yes, but it would be closer to 3. At 3 I hadn't heard anything and called again and they said it was unlikely they would come- but would let me know. At 430 I hadn't heard anything and I called again and they said they couldn't come. They never tried to call and update me as this was going along. No apologies for not making the appointment. No attempt to help make things right by scheduling a follow up appointment where I wouldn't miss work. AWFUL. Shame on Angie's list for having them as a provider.

They arrived right on time, there was 3 of them so they finished quick! And the work is excellent. The only thing i didnt like is the LED bulbs they provide were really expensive. And they said lifetime warranty, but i have no paperwork or info regarding the bulbs. So if one went out. I have the slightest idea who to call.
