Do not hire this contractor. I was all excited to hire a female owned company - and I paid for that loyalty.... She did not finish the job, but demanded to be paid. She refused to return if there were any issues with her work - which there were!!! I had to hire another contractor to complete the project and fix all her mistakes!!! I have documentation and pictures to verify my review. Unless you plan to pay substantially more than her quote - to pay for the 2nd contractor- I would find someone else. What a nightmare...

DO NOT HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR!! I was very excited to hire a female owned company - and I paid for that loyalty. She never completed the job, but demanded to be paid. I had to hire another contractor to complete the project, and fix what GNT did. Her detail work is terrible and sloppy. This project cost me so much more than it should have because I had to hire a second contractor.

I am delighted with all the projects we did with Girls ‘N Tools! We were selling an older home that needed painting in and out, joist repair, replaced outdoor lighting, regrouted tub etc. in the new home (condo) Girls ‘N Tools put in crown molding, painted the interior, replaced lights fixtures. They show up on time, do quality work, clean up, have great ideas and creative problem solving skills. Jessica Gervais is professional, smart, experienced and truly enjoys her work. She is the model ALL contractors should follow!

Jess and the electrician with whom she partners were amazing! They repaired some serious electrical issues in my antique (1790's) home. I went from having the whole house breaker flip whenever I ran the AC, or washed clothes, or ran the bath, or my Mac Pro computer, to everything running perfectly. They, and others, thought I'd need a power upgrade, and we were bracing ourselves to have this done. I paid the deposit. Upon further inspection they discovered the multiple issues could be fixed without the upgrade, so they did all the repairs and smaller upgrades and installations (to circumvent future issues which I wouldn't have foreseen but which other "handy" people have told me were really smart), and now I can run both window AC units while washing and drying clothes and pecking at my big computer, simultaneously! They were so honorable they pointed out this option and refunded all of my deposit that wasn't needed for the job--so the job went from $4,000 to $1,000!!!! How's that for great news?! Not only would I hire them again, but I've already passed on their info to several other people!

Jess came in to help me finish a number of projects around my house. She finished our bathtub/shower install and sealed the wall, she put in an access door for the tub and repaired a hole in our ceiling, she installed a glass block window in our basement, repaired concrete that had broken off our outside stairs, and she finished an unfinished wall in our bathroom. She helped with a few other smaller projects and did a great job with everything. She was courteous and prompt and affordable. I couldn't have asked for a better handy woman!

Excellent job. Prompt in providing estimate, prompt in starting and completing job (on time), easy to work with, explained what needed to be done and made sure I understood, showed flexibility and great problem-solving when unforeseeable problems/changes arose. Pricing was very reasonable. I would hire her again without question--in fact, I plan to when I have a few other projects to get done in the spring.

Very smooth. We were told we would have one or two nights where we would have to flush with a bucket. It was only one night after all. Very professional, neat, and on time. She doesn't cut corners and if something comes up that has to be repaired before the work continues, she shows what needs to be done before doing anything. Very satisfied!

From the beginning through the end, my experience with Jessie from Girls 'n' Tools couldn't have been better. She was very quick to respond when I submitted the initial request and follow up questions. She was upfront about how far out the job would be scheduled (about 1 month out) and then we agreed on a time for her to come to my house and take measurements.

She came out at the time she promised, quickly took measurements, and then had a quote/contract back to me within 48 hours as promised. At that time, she informed me that she had an opening in her schedule and could do the work in about one week. She had the materials delivered the day of the job around 8:30a and she arrived right after around 9a. By 1:30p, all the work was done and the work area was clean.

The job itself was straightforward in most parts but replacing the pocket door and installing trim in very narrow spaces added a challenge. The quality of the work was excellent, and was exactly as I expected.

 GIRLS "n" TOOLS

Awesome all the way A++, on all accounts.

Jess Gervais, Is very professional, knowledgeable and resourceful. When working with an older home like mine, Jess was a fountain of knowledge and experience during the whole home project. Her enthusiasm and efficiency is so evident that I realized that she was dedicated to my project from start to finish before moving on to another job. Jess showed great patience in taking the time to answer any and all questions and make changes that may have come up. In addition Jess was very approachable and extremely fair in negotiating changes that were made during the project.

Girls N Tools is not only a one woman show, Jess is the Whole show In every facet of the project.

Girls N Tools is definitely at the top of my list for the next home or "Honey Do " project.

I highly recommend that you do the same.

Peter Aubin

Danielson, CT.

The project on a whole went relatively smoothly for the most part . However, when it came to sheetrock and spackle time, that is when we starting to see a change quality. There is a soffit above our shower which had to be completely rebuilt and the front corner was far from a corner. it was very inferior, very rough looking. I could have done a better corner. When I asked her to fix it the next day, her once pleasant attitude suddenly changed. So in the coming few days as Jess continued to spackle the rest of the bathroom, I continued to noticed many areas that were rough and should be sanded and re-spackled. When I came home one day to complete paint covering all the bumps, ripples, imperfections in the spackle I was quiet surprised and troubled. When we asked Jess about this she said we should have said something before she painted, now she has to sand re-spackle, re-prime and re-paint.

We did say something!

after a couple months of looking at the less than perfect spackle and paint job, we contacted Jess again to please come fix this for us. Basically she tried to tell us that it isn't her work that is inferior and it has 2 months so her job here is done. She did not come back to correct to correct the imperfections in the inferior spackling job and we have to live with the very unsightly walls or hire someone else to correct it.

The other complaints are when the base molding was installed, the finish nails were too long and it scratched across the entire bottom of our pocket door. Also, the threshold that was installed came loose and didn't cover the end of the tile.

All in all, the small things make a large difference, we had plenty of work for Jess, but we would NOT contract her again !!!

We were given two options and chose the cheaper and less invasive one. Water service disruption was minimal with no impact. Service was performed over the course of a few hours, as provider had to make a few trips to supply stores to find the right hardware for our 35+year old plumbing fixtures. She was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable.

The only problem was that even though the faucet was not leaking any more when she had finished, over the course of the next two days the handle loosened and the leaking resumed. We called her and she came back the next day and tightened the faucet valves which stopped the leak. It has been over two weeks now with no more leaky faucet.

Went great. Jess was punctual, in-budget and really great to work with. I think she knew her stuff and just as importantly, if she didn't have an answer, she would get one. Jess did not give fake answers. The house looks great now and things are ship-shape.
Jess was fun, professional and knowledgeable. Some of the work involved a few curve balls provided by hidden damage in the floor. Girls 'n' Tools took it in stride and just handled what needed to be done.
Found Jess thanks to Angie's List. She repaired some things around our house and we're still working with her to get our roof replaced. Jess is friendly, professional, thorough and helpful. She explained everything to us in detail and broke down the prices for us. Great communication! Highly recommended!

Jessica is amazing. She is responsive to queries, asks good questions, and provides estimates quickly. She communicates well and shows up when she says she is going to. Her work is impeccable and she makes things look easy. I know it's not easy, because I tried to do it myself first. I will never make that mistake again.
