Showed up the next day a half hour early with a text to tell me. He had 30-40 years of experience and fixed the issue for half of what another company quoted.

great work, reasonably priced, work done in a timely manner Service man, Randy was able to tell me right away what was wrong with the faucet. We needed a faucet that is not typical and he needed a special tool to do the work. Goering Plumbing was able to locate the part and we were back to using the faucet in 3 hours!!!!

I purchased 3 solar panels to heat my swimming pool, mounted them to the roof, and then found that the difficulties of working with all the different roof pitch angles was tough to get right, so I contacted professional plumbers to do it, figuring they would get it done properly and much quicker than I could do. 2 guys showed up at the house, verified that I had most of the materials needed (pipes, fittings, etc) and went to work. About 5 hours later they had completed cutting the pipes to fit, cut a hole in the deck, secured all the pipes to the roof and house wall, and run the pipes underneath the deck to the pool area. I had them terminate the pipes into an automatic bypass valve, where my swimming pool guy took it from there. Been a couple months and everything working like a charm, no leaks in the roof or any of the fittings, they have everything fit tight to the roof/walls so no concerns about wind trying to blow it around, etc. The solar panels actually are working better than expected and has had to turn off frequently due to the pool achieving the target temperature of 85 degrees.

Response from Goering Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Remodeling
"Thank you for the review. This wasn't a normal job for us. We've never ran pipe for solar panels before. I did take longer than I anticipated and I didn't included installing the bi-pass valve which took some time. I'm glad everything is working well."

Initially it went OK, we agreed upon a price and signed a contract.
He send three workers over, although they were rude at times they completed the rough in plumbing of the house.
The contract called for adding a basement bathroom and specifically stated " break floor as needed and replace floor as needed".
During the process of installing the new plumbing in the floor they dug up a considerable amount of dirt, They left the excess dirt in the basement for almost two weeks and only showed up when I told Kevin I would remove the dirt myself and would subtract the cost from the final bill.
He sent people over to remove the dirt and replace the floor as needed. He also sent me an additional bill for $1,214.24 stating that he poured 60 more bags of concrete than he originally estimated.
The next day I called and after an exchange of emails I thought we were back on track. It is now three weeks later and he is refusing to respond to either phone calls or e-mails.
If someone has any questions or doubts this story I have all the written documention.
The bottom line is that he does not communicate well enough or often enough.

Response from Goering Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Remodeling
"(removed member name), I completely disagree with your review. I did say to replace floor as needed for a normal basement bath install. I've never in the 20+ years have seen a 1" concrete floor come out in sheets. I told you it would be extra to remove and replace the additional floor. We hauled out over 60- 5 gallon buckets of dirt and poured 74 1/2 60 lbs bags of concrete. I have an additional 50 man hours in this. When you remodel / flip an old house additional charges are inevitable. I do apologize if my guys did get a little grumpy but I feel their frustration. I made several phone calls asking for fixtures and faucets which were to be on the job prior to starting. You brought out cheap faucets that didn't meet code. It slowed us down considerably. This is exactly why I normally don't let home owners provide their own fixtures. It was very apparent that you had no idea what fixtures you needed and when you needed them. We keep our workmanship at a very high level. You made this very hard to do. Finally, after trying to compromise with you on price for the extras I still haven't seen a payment."

Kevin Goering was very personable and professional. He did a great job of explaining the process and I and two of my neighbors chose his company to do the work. (Let me also state that he is about the only company that I found that offered a timely and reasonable bid.) Now that said, the work took about 2 days. By the time they were finished I had no yard left in that area with 2 large, extremely large, mounds of dirt left where they had back filled the holes they had dug to push through the PVC line. This was expected to a certain degree. It was just much larger than expected. I will say that the work done to run the sump line was excellent, but the digging and backfilling of the holes was lacking. It has been 8 months and I still have one mound that still needs flattening. I have tried everything but driving the car over it to get it down.
2 WEEK JOB TOOK JUST SHY OF 3 MONTHS!!!
This was a bathroom and kitchen remodel for my elderly mother.
This job was suppose to start September 8th and take 2- 2 1/2 weeks. All material was picked out, with the supplier, about 1 month prior to the starting date.
The customer was required to pay 1/2 of the cost, up front.
Goering was 2 weeks late starting due to multiple excuses (family issues, material not in yet, workers needed at other jobs, etc.)
The bathroom was suppose to take 1 - 1 1/2 weeks. It ended up taking 4 weeks to get the bathroom completed.
The kitchen was suppose to take another week. It still is not completed. Waiting on countertop material.
This is now into the 3rd month!
The owner does NOT communicate with the customer. Does not always answer phone call or respond in a timely manner, is not good at calling back or keeping the customer informed on what is going on! Days / weeks go by with any communication from Goering.
Also, no consideration is shown for the customers time. Not knowing if they are going to show up each day or not, the customer has to be up early, and ready, in case they do show up.
We have no complaints about the quailty of work, or the workmen that performed the work. These were both high quality. Our complaint is with the owner and his lack of respect and communication with the customer.

"First off I'd like to express my disappointment in this review. It's coming from a 2nd hand person who wasn't involved in 99% of the conversations. I give the same customer service regardless of age and this customer isn't any different. Yes the material was picked out roughly 1 month before starting. Unfortunately this was a special order shower, counter top in kitchen, and flooring. She picked out a Onyx shower which are made to order. They usually take 2-3 weeks. This one took almost 9. She also picked out a shower door glass from Basco that was discontinued. It took almost a week for a new glass to be selected. The actually time on the bath was less than 2 weeks except the shower door which we provided a bar and curtain for a week until the door came in. The kitchen flooring came in damaged from Home Depot. She was home when the crew unboxed it and showed her the damaged corners. We immediately re-ordered the flooring and it came in roughly a week later. The huge hang up was the new counter tops. She ordered a color I've never seen or the 3 other companies that install for us have ever seen. It's a new color that wasn't in stock in Wilson Art - or anywhere in the country. I communicated that it will be several weeks and she wanted to wait. When it arrived 1 piece had a blemish on it. We had to re-order the desk portion which took 3 weeks. Unfortunately this job didn't go as planned but completely beyond our control. Everything that was special ordered was hand picked by the owner. I have absolutely no control on factory production, shipping, or quality control. I try to communicate as best as possible but that goes both ways. This owner gave us a key during most of the construction. She was told several times when things were scheduled and I would call on certain days to update her either way. There were a few times I ran a little late but I always answered my phone and updated her when I had info. My cell is on 24 hrs. a day and I had several conversations with her on weekends and after hours. They didn't mention that I threw in an upgrade at no cost for her trouble. We provided a glass tile backsplash at no charge. It would have been a $350.00 + tax upcharge. I had it overnighted since it was a last minute decision and wanted to show that we felt bad for her inconvenience. I don't usually comment on age factors. All I'll say is that elderly isn't a fair representation on this case. Not that is matters because we try to give the best customer service to EVERYONE regardless of age. This review was written by the daughter. When you play golf league 2 times a week and is in better shape then I'm in at 36 it speaks for itself. I find it offensive that anyone would imply that I would treat any customer different because of their age. It's very unfortunate that material took longer than expected and some of it came in damaged. We tried to accommodate her as best as possible. When you select special / made to order fixtures, tops, and flooring sometimes it take longer than we're told. We didn't try to collect any additional money until the entire job was complete. This experience will directly change how I do special orders in the future. Kevin L. Goering"

I gave Kevin Goering and associates all excellent rating. They were prompt, professional, and most importantly understanding of having a person ( MY Husband) with dementia. Treated him with respect and me as well. Picked up after work everyday, and made this a pleasant experience for us. The reason for delay in my response is that we made a sudden move to "safer home" for our Dementia needs. Would have hired him again had we stayed there. Highly Recommend. Glen & Cheryl

My disposer went bad and when I replaced it the existing plumbing would not line up and was kind of patch work anyway. Time to get it fixed.
So I called Goering Plumbing because of the Angie reviews and John N, the service tech, came out the next day (on time). John did a fine job of straightening up the issues and also took the time to discuss a few other matters with me which were a big help.
One month later and still no leaks.
Plus John was clean... :) No three day old, stinky clothes and crusty boots like the techs of a certain plumbing/sewer cleaning service that I have had the not-so-pleasurable experience of using in the past.
I was also able to use the $40 trip charge coupon that Goering Plumbing has posted here on Angie - cool.
And speaking of money, just want to let you know that Goering's hourly rate is $90 with the first hour being fully charged. I do not know if they breakdown the rate into, say, 15 minute intervals for subsequent hours.
All in all, a very good service call.
They did a nice job replacing my leaking water heater, but really dropped the ball on my pro-rated warranty. My old water heater was only 3 years old (also installed by Goering Plumbing) and I was told to expect a 50% credit. I have called repeatedly over the last 6 months to no avail and they will not return my calls. The one time I got a live person, he said he thought my check just came in and he would drop it in the mail tomorrow. I am still pursuing this issue but it is clear they do not want to communicate with me on this.

We really appreciated them! They were kind, well-mannered guys who showed up when they said they would, did the work they said they would, for the price they told us. They came in at budget, were nice to work with, and we are very pleased with the quality of their work. We had the city inspector come, and their work passed with flying colors. We felt that they went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service, and we were completely comfortable with having them in our home. We'd definitely recommend them!

The plumber provided an estimate to do work related to having new countertops installed. While at our house we mentioned a problem of a wet basement ceiling which we though was rain water seeping in. He soon found that an improperly installed kitchen drainage pipe had slipped and major water was pouring into the wall every time the sink was used. His diagnosis was well timed as he had to cut the old kitchen counter in order to remove the lazy susan and get to the outside wall where the faulty pipe was located. Shortly afterward the granite countertops we had ordered were installed. All is well. We have since used this business for other work.

They took a couple of weeks to do it, but they did a good job at that. Then I have hired them if I needed regular plumbing, when I needed all the toilets raised and needed the bathroom redone. They remodeled the kitchen. I liked their work and I like their workmen. They were good to have around and they were creative. They have some older people who have been working with them for years so I like that. I like them a lot. I had to buy a new refrigerator. They sent a guy to install it. Later they came to repair it and did not charge me anything. They clean up everything after they are done.

They had sent me a written estimate within several days. They were prompt in setting up the time to come and do it. It was a big deal. It caused me a lot of stress. It was ugly. They came out promptly and discussed the problem with me and told me what they would do. They taught me how they would hang plastic sheet to keep the cement dust from going all through the house. They were very nice, but I thought it was sort of an unconventional plan to fix the problem. I have used them in the past also to replace ceramic tiles in the bathroom. They have been in business for many, many years. They are quite good. I have always been quite content with their service.
