We contacted Gustavo to do some deck work for us because he had previously done other minor repairs around our home without incident. In this case, the job took much longer and was much more work than we first expected. During the job, he pushed back the expected completion date several times. This especially became a problem when our renters had specifically planned to fly family into town to stay at the home based on the original deadline. As part of the work he asked my wife to provide direction on the color he should paint the deck. She was excited to finally change the color of the deck which she always felt was an eyesore because it was too red. She found the perfect color and sent Gustavo a message asking him to please NOT USE the old red paint, but to use a new version of the color which she provided instead. Naturally he used the old red color. The problems didn't end there. While Gustavo was removing rotten sections of the deck, it was expected that his team would dispose of the debris. He said he would include that in his revised price. Also during the course of painting the deck (the wrong color) Gustavo's team damaged our siding while power washing, and then failed to properly tape the area they sprayed which resulted in areas of red over spray on our green siding and white trim. Gustavo said not to worry because he would be back to fix those issues and remove the debris within the week and then he asked that we pay him first. Based on our previous experience with him, we foolishly paid him in full. Weeks went by and the problems and debris remained. My wife left four separate messages, he returned none. He did return my call, but not until after I left him a generic message asking him to call me about a new job. He explained that he has been out of town due to a family illness and would call me in “about a month”. I told him that waiting for a month while our renters with a small child have to deal with a pile of rotten lumber and rusty nails in their driveway is not an acceptable solution. He hung up on me. In short, what we thought was going to be a GREAT match as a HANDYMAN, has turned into a very expensive problem that we have to now solve again. So, based on our most recent experience, we would NOT recommend Gustavo and advise anyone using him to make sure the job is done in full to your satisfaction before you pay him!

Gustavo did an amazing job remodeling my kitchen. He was able to get my new cabinets installed as well as redo my tile flooring. Would definitely recommend his work. He was very professional and provided clean, neat work resulting in a beautiful finished kitchen. After shopping around his price was also unbeatable!
