It went wonderfully. On my initial call to Gary, owner of the company, we set an appointment time and day for him to give us an estimate on the pool bath door change-out. Gary arrived on time and gave us a fair price estimate for the labor costs. We hired him because we could see immediately he really knows what he's doing On the day of installation, Gary picked up the new door from the big box store, installed it, and it looks great. He's knowledgeable, professional, courteous and we'll call him again when we do additional improvements.

I called Grand Improvements they came to next day gave me a fair price and fixed everything the big famous company damaged and wouldn't do. He installed a new kitchen faucet hooked everything up even fixed the problem with the dishwasher that Home Depot installers didn't do right! Very professional and knowledgeable at a fair price. If you want something done right the first time this is the company to call!

Gary did a great job,arrived on time, very professional,the doors look great.I would recommend and hire him again when I need help on a project.

I couldn't be happier with the work done.   This is the second project I've used Grand improvements for.  Gary previously remodeled my master bathroom about 6 months ago.  For this project, starting with an unfinished basement, Gary put in a full bath,and finished a portion of the basement to the point where it matched the rest of the house.  Gary put in a plank tile floor, crown molding, a riser for a theatre setup as well as many other details.  Gary is very professional, gets the work done, and always comes up with ideas to make the project come out the best it possibly can.  He pays attention to details and makes sure everything is finished with the highest level of craftsmanship.  He and his assistant do the work primarily, but he has good contacts that he brings in for certain phases of the job such as electric and paint.  I've taken care of all the projects I plan to do at my house, but if I had anything else that I needed taken care of I certainly would hire Gary again.  <br />

Gary Berman is a rare breed in the general contracting world. He is skilled, knowledgeable, responsive and, above all, a man of his word. This was a massive project (over $300K in total), finding Gary was extremely fortunate as I had to be away on business most of time and could only leave general instructions of things were to be done. Gary carried out all my requests and more without ever b******* about money. His work ethic is complemented by his attention to detail and his sense of workmanship. From the first contact, Gary was responsive and showed up when he said he was going to. Gary kept in contact when the start of the job was delayed for a week due to the previous job adding on some additional items. I actually appreciated him finishing the job he was on before starting mine. <br /> When Gary started the job, he was here from start to finish and put in full days. There was no hopping around from job to job which had happened to me in the past and many others I know as well. This is very important as the job itself moves in the timeframe planned and you are given 100% attention and detail.  <br /> Gary goes above and beyond and his main concern is quality work. This was a large project, that went Great! Gary and his workers did a awsome job! His help and knowledge planning our home was <br />  wonderful! <br />

This is the second time that Gary had performed work for us.  He arrived on time and began to work immediate. The job was completed in one day.  He called back the next day to see if there were any problems, There were none.  Once again Gary came through for us.  We would definately use him again and recommend him to our neighbors.

When my wife and I found Gary, Of Grand Improvements on Angies List, We Hit A Home Run.  Gary is a General Contractor who performed all work within the designated Time Frame and at the Agreed Price.  We had  a Major Kitchen Overhaul including significant plumbing renewal. This was by no means a small job.  In The end the total cost was $37,000, but we purchased All New Appliances, UpGraded Electrical Box from old 100 AMPS, Painting two rooms plus, and relocated all electrical outlets, in addition to the work that Gary did. As mentioned, acting on Gary's recommendation all work was performed without a flaw.   From the first time we spoke with Gary to the last (today) we found him to be honest and helpful  He returned our calls promptly and answered any concerns that we had. I have read that someone stated that Gary was late or never returned their calls.  This was not the case with us.  We were  so happy with his Work, that we Contracted him to perform another project.  <br /> <br /> <br />

He did other little things. He was timely and neat. The price was reasonable. He was quick. He was meticulous with his work. He had a very fair price and I would absolutely recommend his service. I can't say enough good things about the service. I would use him again in a heart beat.

Gary performed the work on time and did a great job.  He was also flexible to changes during the project that improved the overall outcome of the project.  He also recommended other good subcontractors that I ended up using for other projects around my house. I would definitely use him again, and I highly recommend him to others. <br />

It is a small company, it provides pretty personalized service and I like that about it.  Gary Berman the owner came out and did the work and gave me the estimate and told me what he was going to do.  They were very professional, they were prompt they did what I needed and I am truly satisfied with them.  About ten years ago they re-did the whole top of my house

I had my bath completely remodeled. its a small bath but i wanted some reinforcements here and there.Gary and his crew were very professional and the work was solid and beautiful. I would definitely recommended them. The price was a little high by comparison . But I was very happy with the results. <br />

Gary did a great job with attention to detail.  He had to work around some problems with the existing walls/ceiling and did a good job of explaining everything.  We will definitely be using Gary again.

Gary and his crew arrived promptly on the designated day to begin the job.  Both he and his men were very friendly and courteous.  Each day they covered our carpeting, furniture, etc. to protect our home from construction debris.  Besides being extremely careful bringing tools and supplies in and out of our home, he cleaned up every day after work.  He also disposed of all waste and carted it away daily, which included our old tub, etc.  Gary and his crew worked non-stop each day and never ask for anything.  Throughout the job, he consulted with us to be sure we were satisfied and offered ideas to improve the remodeling project.  The project involved a lot of intricate tile work and despite having a man out sick one day, Gary remained for the most part, on schedule.  His finale price was slightly above his original estimate, but that was due to our requesting a couple of extra features that were time consuming.  We were so satisfied with Gary's work that we are considering him for another major renovation.

Grand Improvement and Construction did major, major renovation to my Stony Brook house, essentially the whole house was renovated: a new kitchen, two and a half new bathrooms, a laundry room, two rooms combined into a master bedroom, new staircase, central AC installed, finishing an unfinished room etc. etc.  My wife and I talked about renovating the house for a long time but never did it. Sadly my wife died suddenly, and I was left to have the renovations done myself.  I used her life insurance to pay for the work. My brother helped with the plans and I hired a person to help me with all the decisions as to fixtures, appliances etc.  Gary was recommended by someone I knew from work and the recommendation was confirmed by his stellar Angie's list recommendations.   Gary did much of the work himself with a skilled assistant and several general workers.  Gary did all the construction and the plumbing and all the tile work.  He also served as the general contractor to manage the hiring of the AC installers, the painter, the electrical work, the staircase and railing construction and installation the wood floors etc.  These people appear to have worked with Gary for many years.  He was always at the house to supervise their work.  I am completely satisfied with the renovations.  Gary is extremely knowledgeable and innovative with all aspects of home renovations and has very high standards for quality work.   There were many times, that Gary’s standards were much higher than my own.  It would have been very easy for a person to have taken advantage of my somewhat limited knowledge about home renovations.  The final costs were very close to the original written estimates, we decided on several upgrades as the job progressed. Gary treated the work as if he was renovating his own home.  He and his coworkers were also completely honest with respect to all my possessions.  I can recommend Grand Improvement and Construction without reservation.  The cost was for the entire job ~80K went to GI&C

Great Overall experience. Was very patient when I had a lot of questions.was on time everyday.excellent work from start to finish.would definitely choose them again.the pricing was fair and he tried to save me money when he could.

Don't go to mold remediation companies first... without talking to Gary!  They are all in collusion with each other and will eat up half of your insurance claim!  Gary can do the same work.... heck... even a trained Gorilla could do the same work!  Talk over your dreams and hopes with Gary: he has lots of experience and great ideas.  The finished product can only be described as "MINT!"

Excellent from start to finish.

Gary arrived on the scheduled day and immediately got to work.  He was here everyday for the entire day until the project was finished.   He was neat, efficient, and respectful of what needed to be completed for every day.  The area was kept neat, noise level was as low as could be for a project such as this, and I never had a concern the entire time He was here.   The project took about a week from start to finish including the painting!  I was very happy and so was my son! <br />

we called several companies to give quotes and Gary's was the best - throughout the process, he was accurate with estimates and meticulous in keeping records of expenditures and also of giving us credits when due - Gary was prompt and showed up when he said at the time he said - he was extremely reliable and we left him alone in the house through much of the process - he came up with several novel ideas and helped us to arrive at solutions in addition to simply doing the work - his workmanship is expert and covers an incredible array of trades - it is because Gary and his crew can do much of the work themselves that he is able to keep subcontracting to a minimum and thus offer excellent prices - a great example is plumbing: Gary does his own plumbing thereby avoiding a very costly subcontracting element of the job - Gary and his crew were polite and helpful - taking breaks to show us progress at different stages - we communicated on a daily basis and there were NO surpirises (other than the good ones of receiving excellent work at an excellent price) - although we choose not to disclose it, we spent a considerable amount of money with Gary and GHIC all without regret - he has already followed up with us to see if there are any issues - he has come back to finalize punch list itmes (yes, after being paid) - we would recommend Gary without hesitation -  hope that all of your contracting experiences will be as good as the one you will have with him. <br /> <br />

Gary, owner, was very pleasant right from the start. He gave us an estimate which was competitive and probably a little under than most contractors. He explained what he could do with our one and only bathroom giving us suggestions that saved us money and how to use the space more efficiently. He gave us a written quote and everything he told us he would do was done with professionalism. We only have one bathroom so every day when he was done with work he put back the toilet so we could at least have that. <br /> I would hire him again without giving it a second thought. The bathroom looks amazing!
