After receiving a ridiculous quote from a big box retail store, I decided to try my luck with Granite Works, and I'm glad I did.
The whole process was wonderful-all their staff were courteous and very helpful, and they answered all my questions completely. Their prices are very reasonable, they have a wide variety of options to choose from, they have good deals and specials, and they don't treat you differently if your project is a small one. They were very honest about all the charges, both actual and potential, and they always made sure I was comfortable with everything.
They explained their process to me and followed it to the letter. Their staff were always punctual, both for the templating, and for the installation. The installation went perfectly, and they gave me clear and specific instructions on how best to care for my new countertops.
I am very pleased with the quality of their service, and I still love my beautiful new countertops, sink and faucet. I highly recommend Granite Works.

Everything went very smoothly.

Each person involved with the process knew what he was doing: the salesman, the man who measured and made the template, the fabricator and the installer. They were all very professional, attentive to detail and punctual. The entire process was very streamlined and easy. It looks beautiful.

They also did my daughter's kitchen counters and sink a few years ago and her project came out beautiful as well.

I received A+ service from Granite Works. I met Bruno Valente, one of the co-owners, on my first visit. He was very friendly and helpful, not pushy like some sales people. The slab I liked the best was marked sold. In a follow up discussion with Bruno, my brother found out that the sister to that slab was available. Bruno gave it a rating of 11 on a scale of 1 to 10, and he was right. Bruno held the slab for a few days until I could get there. Purchased it that day, and he held it for 5 months at no charge. Many companies my brother called on my behalf would not hold a slab longer than 30 days.
When my brother was visiting from out of town, they were kind enough to bring it out of storage so that he could see it. That day, we met Art Rivera who spent considerable time with me us and provided invaluable advice about a new counter I was adding. He also provided other design suggestions on the backsplash and paint color, which I followed with great results. That was an extra bonus I didn't expect. So, if Art gives you advice, you should definitely take it.
The templater, Glauber (hope this is the correct spelling), was extremely detail oriented and communicated well with my carpenter and his assistant. He made a suggestion for the end cap of the new counter and the handrail behind it that made it a true work of
art. Gus Valente (co-owner), with assistance from Eduardo (stone cutter), did a great job of deciding what parts of the stone would go where in my kitchen and fireplace. They have an amazing eye. I was so impressed by their finding parts of the slab in totally different areas that would best connect at the seams. The installers were terrific and that process went very smoothly. I have 2 seams that are barely noticeable. Their work in the kitchen and my fireplace surround was impeccable.
Granite Works exceeded my expectations, and I'm very picky. My counters are a work of art.

We had a good experience with GraniteWorks. We were budget-conscious and looking for good service/warranty. We ended up spending a little more than we thought, because the measure tech suggested a larger overhand than we planned and others quoted.
The selection of stone was good.
The price was standard.
The staff was very friendly and professional, both during the sales and the measure/install.
The warranty from Granite Works is not very good for time duration. (Counter Intelligence is better, but their customer service was not very good.)
GraniteWorks was responsive to phone and email.
The Installers did a great job and were very courteous. The install went according to plan and looks good.
The seams are not very visible unless you try looking for them. I had suggestions/preferences, spoke up, and they were addressed.
They followed up to make sure I was happy.
Overall, let these guys give you an estimate. They are good.
After receiving quotes from several granite vendors we chose Granite Works. Their pricing was on par with the other vendors; however, their selection was better and we had confidence in our salesman Bruno. We were able to select our granite from the slabs in their yard. The appointments for measuring and installation were timely. The installer, Marco, did an outstanding job -- he and his helper were in and out in about three hours. The installation included removing the old countertop, installing the under mount sink and new faucet.. It's been a year since the installation and we could not be happier with our purchase.
Overall, our countertops look great. We love the color and Granite Works was very responsive, nice, didn't pressure us, and provided good advice. We were able to schedule them with no problem also.
A few minor things would make it nice if Angie's List provided the ability to rate them an A- instead of an unqualified A: they were supposed to do all of the sealing before they arrived as we have family members with allergies to chemical smells, but that didn't get communicated from the person who measured the granite to the installers, so the granite was not sealed the final time (not a big deal as it was already sealed once or twice before arrival). While installing, the island countertop looked a little off, so I measured and it was, so they fixed it, but if I hadn't pointed it out, they would have missed it (they should have measured themselves). Also, the piece was delivered with a scratch the length of the edge on the breakfast bar side of the stone. Once we noticed it they came back promptly, ground it out, and repolished. You can't tell it was there anymore.
All of this said, in the end we got exactly what we wanted for a great price. Our countertops look great. We would go back for a future job.
First late me state up front that everyone at Granite Works Countertops was friendly and pleasant to work with. This includes both the folks in the office and the workers in the field.
In 2007-2008 I had my kitchen expanded and remodeled by Allan Homes Unlimited. In on December 15, 2013 the kitchen sink collapsed. (I should write up Allan Homes Unlimited regarding this issue)
I called my favorite plumbers first thing on Monday. They indicated that they would need countertop experts to remount the sink first. So I used Angie's list and found Granite Works Countertops.
I called their office to describe the issue and schedule a time for the repair. Unfortunately due to the holiday rush of people wanting their countertop work done prior to Christmas the earliest date they could come was December 23rd. Due to the holidays my work time was also constrained so they offered to call me at work when leaving their prior work site so I could leave and meet them at my home. This was a wonderful accommodation as I was able to fulfill my work requirements AND get my sink fixed.
The only negative issue was that this was a two person job and they only sent one person. He was great, but he could have used another set of arms. I helped as best I could but my back is not in the best of shape.
This next section includes some issues but I do not see them as against Granite Works Countertops as there was no other way to perform the work.
Due to the sink configuration they were unable to use the preferred technique of bolting the sink to the countertop. Instead he constructed side braces to the cabinetry and held the sink up with a spare piece of wood while the glue dried. Sadly this results in screw's coming through the sides on the inside of the cabinetry, but there was no other option. I was advised that the wood holding up the sink while the glue cured, could be removed, but would be better if left in place.
Also, should the sink fail again, I should have plumbers come to remove all the plumbing work so that their is room to install the sink with a better mechanism (undercounter bolts).
The work is complete (and the plumber has since repaired the drain damage) and I am mostly satisfied with the results. Ideally the job would have been done differently, but that was not an option at the time.
I would be happy to use Granite Works Countertops again..
It turned out really good. We gave them odd dimensions and they cut it perfectly. They also attached an under mount sink. They had a good selection, very easy to deal with, and very helpful.

A two man team arrived and removed my old countertops. They tried to keep dust to a minimum when drilling out the holes for the faucet and instant hot. They installed a new faucet, garbage disposal and moved my instant hot unit. Countertops are beautiful. I wish I had done it years ago to replace my laminate countertops. The job took about four hours and I am very pleased.
We had a great experience with Granite Works. We contracted our countertop work on July 28th. We feel very fortunate to have met Art. He is very professional and not a high pressure sales person. He was more of a designer and he took us out to the slab yard helping us find slabs that matched our kitchen design and equally important budget.. We were able to use their sample cabinet materials and coordinate them with the slabs, colors, movement and patterns. He advised us on the best cuts, edgings, care, etc. Once we selected the granite within a few minutes, Art presented us with an estimate on the spot. We placed a 50% deposit and the next day the office assistance called us to schedule our on site template. The template process was easy and thorough. It is very helpful if you take your kitchen photos with you and your detailed measurements. That way your estimate is accurate and Art can help you with balancing movement, appropriate area for seams, if any. Granite works provided the granite, onsite measurements, sink options, bull nose edging and included all cut outs, plus an Angie's List discount. Our price was $2500 less than a company in the Mt. Airy. Within a week we had a template completed, in two weeks the fabrication of 2 slabs, and the installation of occurred on August 9th. In 1 day! We elected to forego their 4" backsplash option and we designed and installed our own. Art's design consultation was very helpful. After we finished 1/2 the backsplash we sent Art a thank you email with a photo. He was so surprised and we were surprised and happy 1) he remembered us, and 2) he liked our natural stone tile work. We recommend Granite Works for quality, professionalism and price. Good luck and thanks Angie's List. Art and Granite Works Rocks!!

They were fantastic! Customer service was excellent. They are very careful in the home as far as moving around the house. They measured things out perfectly so when they got here the counters just fit right in. They have a large selection of colors and textures of granite to choose from. They laid all the pricing out clearly at the beginning so there were no surprises.

The work they did was beautiful. After it was connected up, it works great. They finished in 30 minutes at the most. I would not hire them again because they are long distance from my home.
