.Very bad experience overall.  The Roof still leaks when we have heavy rain.They returned twice to patch roof, still leaks. <br /> I do not think the sewage was installed properly as have sewage smell coming from shower drain. Contractor asked for 1/2 pay in advance- stated he needed to pay subcontractors, yet they told us he did not pay them and then they threatened to sue us for non-payment! I was not happy with this project and would not recommend them again.The subcontractors were not top notch professionals and did shoddy work, especially plumbing, roofing and electrical.The tile work was excellent. <br />

.I contacted the company and waited 3 or 4 days for a call back and had to call back a second time to talk to someone. This was early Aug. of 2011. I had to call again for a follow up on the appt. to even look at the problem. The owner was 2 hrs late for the appt. He could not crawl on the roof because of leg problems but did not bring anyone with him that could get on the roof at that time to give us an idea of the problem. I waited 2 wks for a proposal to be sent by email of the problems and the cost. It was sent to the wrong email. We had a second look at the problem to go over the proposal and he was 1 hr. late for that appt. First of Sept. called the owner to see if work had been done and left a message. By Sept. 23rd still no word if work was done. Since this was our vacation home we had not been there to witness the work. Sept . 28th the company called me to see if we were going to pay our bill and I had to tell them I had not received a bill or even knew if the work was completed or not. They again had sent the invoice to the wrong email address. They called again on Oct. 3rd to make sure they would receive their payment. They were eager to call to see about payment but not to return my calls concerning the work itself. So now it is July of 2012 and we were at our beach house and saw where the roof was leaking again. I have called 4 times and left messages and no one has returned my call. My husband had to get on the roof and try to repair the leak himself. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

They did a really good job. They were prompt. They were efficient.

His estimate was not the cheapest and he was not the most expensive.  I chose his bid because I felt he would do the job correctly.   Grant is very specific and detailed with his work.  I liked that.  He did a great job staying in contact with me every step of the project.  The guys who did the work were also very professional and I felt they did a quality job.  I would recommend Grantwood to other people who need construction work done.

Luckily, I fired him before he cost me thousands of dollars. He wanted to charge me $60,000 + for a remodel that cost me half when it was complete. If a contractor is going to know the plans, be around to assist subs, and keep you from acting as foreman to the job, his fee may be worth it. However, Grant Wood doesn't work that way. He was hunting while my project was underway and sent his wife ( who has no clue) to my home when the workers had questions. It took nearly a month for him to come up with a bid. He promised everyother day it would be finished!!! The bottomline was he wanted to do a costplus scenario where he wouldn't have to monitor or stay on budget. COST PLUS is a scam!!!

This was a very pleasant experience. Very good attention to detail. Good communication. Few problems, and those were resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. We felt as if it was important to Mr. Wood that we were happy with his work. I have and continue to recomend this company.

He showed up on time, brought me to the store to select my tile and plumbing fixtures, the job was finished 2 weeks ahead of the projected completion date. Several years ago Mr. Wood helped me build a new home in Pensacola and from the moment I signed the contract I felt as if he truly had my best interest at heart. He continues to be the one and only contractor I call for jobs both little and big.

I will continue from above. Mr. Wood had an expert team of people for the tree situation. The driveway also had to be pitched to keep the rain from puddling in front of the porch. The men who spread and finished the concrete were excellent. There are no more puddles! In spite of some weather delays, the work was finished in a timely fashion. They also cleaned up the debris completely. I couldn't have asked for a nicer, more professional group of people to work with. I look forward to having Mr. Wood doing some interior remodeling in the future,

Attention to detail was very good and work performed was high quality. All issues were addressed as they came up. This builder is honest and backs up his product. I would recommend Grant Wood to anyone contemplating a home renovation or new construction.
