My storage unit was packed tighter than expected. The team sorted items as they went. They created space without rushing. Even with obstacles, the move stayed calm. I felt confident watching them work.

Handling a full load was done smoothly and confidently. The team stayed focused and organized. Heavy furniture caused no problems. Fragile items were managed carefully. The process stayed stress free. Highly impressed overall.

Some furniture pieces needed light disassembly, which took extra time. The crew worked carefully and labelled parts clearly. Their attention to detail was comforting. Even slower moments felt purposeful. Nothing was overlooked. I truly appreciated their care.

I wish to file a complaint against an Angi referral. The company is Great Job Moving & Storage. GJ marketed themselves as a “long haul” moving company. However, when I visited their website, they operate in a 3 state area, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. When I told them I needed to move from La Plata, MD, to Texas, they said they could move me to Texas. This was the beginning of my nightmare! My POC with GJ was Heather, (703) 598-6825. I retained them to move one bedroom and 50 boxes, that I packed myself. I emailed Heather my inventory. Although, I packed 50 boxes, and did not require packing services, I received paperwork from Heather for 3-bedrooms. I explained to Heather that I did not have 3-bedrooms of household goods, and I would not need packing supplies, as I would use my own boxes, paper, and packing tape. In my opinion, GJ charged for some packing materials to justify costs, i.e., a roll of black plastic wrapping cellophane tape for $45 and probably storage. Heather provided no justification or written paperwork for the $1700 I paid in advance and there were no itemizations. When, I asked Heather about liability, she said GJ was only liable for minimum recovery damages. Heather was the only POC, I ever communicated with during this whole ordeal. She could not give me the total cost for the move which I asked for several times. There was no Bill of Laden. She required a $100 deposit which I paid. GJ picked up my household goods on September 18, 2025. Heather did not tell me my stuff would be stored until GJ could find another moving company going to Texas! On my pickup day, September 18, 2025, I asked how long it would take to arrive in Texas, not knowing the furniture would be stored, since this was not disclosed. Heather told me it would have to be taken back and weighed to determine the cost! She said it would be 14 days which I considered extremely long, since most carriers deliver within 7-10 days, or sooner. When I called Heather to express my frustration for the time to deliver to Texas someone in the office mentioned, that it could be sooner if GJ could get it on a truck going to Mississippi!! In my opinion, there was deceit and entrapment. Had GJ been forthcoming about all this, I would not have selected them and gone with another moving company! My household goods finally arrived on Monday, October 6, 2025! The moving company was Green Line Relocation. This was not the company who picked up my goods. This person, Ali, called me at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 5, 2025, and informed me he was dropping off my household goods the next day, Monday, October 6, 2025 between 8-10 AM. He said to have cash or a Money Order for $2903.40. He was rude! He wanted to know if I was going to pay and that he was not unloading his truck, until in paid cash or Postal Money Order! I considered this as “holding” my furniture “hostage” until I paid! I was offended and angered!! He was reluctant to assemble my Queen- size bed because he said he was just dropping off and he had another load to drop off! Ali told me he did not have time to assemble my bedroom, although I paid GJ to pick up and assemble! Ali eventually agreed to assemble my bed and dresser in haste and damaged my bed. In my opinion, he was disgruntled and angry during this whole ordeal with me. Ali, whom I believe, is Middle Eastern, refused to discard the packing materials and when I objected to him leaving the packing materials, i.e., boxes, plastics, trash, etc., he directed me to call somebody he knew because he was taking away the “trash”. I have paperwork, photos, and vides, of the damage that was done to my household goods. I plan to seek the maximum allowable under GJ’s contract, due to damaged boxes, mold and mildew, water damage, irreplaceable items, and broken delicate items in boxes, due to the mishandling of my household items.

Victor, Dani and Isaac did an amazing job moving our 5 bed room home. Everything was packaged, labeled and transported without incident. The men was quick and efficient and very friendly. They took all of the thinking and worry out of the move for my wife and I.

What an amazing movie experience. First, it was the cheapest option available and they weren’t pushy about me signing the day I got the quote (unlike other places). They were so accommodating, because my pickup/delivery dates kept changing. They answer pretty much 24/7. The actual moving experience was efficient and well done. The movers were professional and nice. I had two pickup locations at zero extra charge. This was worth every penny and more! They should be rated #1 in the USA, thank you!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! This company provided me a quote of $5.2k-$5.5k over the phone. Then had somebody come out to my home and provide a full quote after reviewing all the contents. After the move, (which was less than 2 miles away), they ended up charging me over $7.3k. Approx. $2k more than what their quotes were! They put in fuel surcharge (to go 2 miles) and charged me for 2 trucks (because they had to go back for a few remaining boxes). After bringing it to their attention multiple times and constantly having to call back because they would rarely return my calls, they begrudgingly agreed to pay back $550 to have me go away. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! THEY WILL BAIT AND SWITCH YOU ON THEIR ESTIMATES! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Enrique, Ivan and Jackson were exactly what we needed. They were courteous and efficient and got the job done with a minimum of direction. The packing job was first rate; everything arrived without a scratch. My stress level dropped to zero a half hour after they arrived and I saw how professional they were.

While living in Falls Church, VA, I hired G&J in (December 2020) to move my belongings into their storage in preparation for a future move out of state. On January 11, 2023, (most of) my belongings were delivered to my new location in Grand Rapids, MI. Instead of a crew of 2 or 3 movers, the LONE mover unloaded the moving truck. Not unexpectedly, this took hours longer than it should have. I noted each box/bin/item he brought into the home to cross-reference and track against the inventory sheet. G&J moved my belongings from their storage facility (Springfield, VA) to my home (Alto, MI) with delivery on January 11, 2023. When the lone mover had unloaded everything, he asked me to sign off (using his computer tablet) that all goods were delivered and in good condition. I had noted that several items were missing and several items showed damage – and advised the driver of such. He re-inspected the truck to ensure there were no more items in the truck; there were none. I explained to him that I could not sign his tablet, since the only option it provided was basically “all delivered – all good” and that I would not sign anything where I was unable to notate missing/damaged items. Together we contacted the G&J home office. The driver explained the situation to whomever had answered the phone, but no management staff was available, so no resolution was made. I was told to use the claims process for rectification. The claims company, CSI, advised me that I did not identify any missing/damaged items at the time of delivery – apparently citing some document. I can only presume that my signature was forged. I have since attempted to dispute the claim – CSI made a minor (and insufficient to me) modification and has closed their processes. CSI advised me to go thru arbitration with G&J. I have been calling G&J offices repeatedly – G&J staff have lied to me repeatedly regarding promised call-backs. Not sure how I am supposed to handle this – seems outrageous to have to consider hiring legal representation, since there apparently is supposed to be some arbitration process. I am reduced to filing a complaint with BBB and posting reviews where I can.

Fantastic job, exceeded my expectations. I needed a mover on Friday afternoon and use Angie’s list to ask for a quote from multiple firms. This was the only firm that called me and it was soon after my Angie’s list request. They scheduled a mover for 8:30 AM the next morning which was impressive turnaround time. They moved chairs in boxes, and when they got to the destinations, they patiently waited for me to unpack the boxes, and then they took the door off the room where the chairs needed to go and managed to fit them in with a very tight fit. They took all the trash when done. The price was clearly disclosed upfront and that’s exactly what I paid. I highly recommend them.

I found this company on Angi and very disappointed. While the reviews on Angi may look good; take a stroll over to Yelp for a more accurate assessment of this company's moving and billing practices. I provided pictures of each room and provided a list of each item to be moved. On the day of the move, the crew lead came and I walked her through every location in my townhome. It took them about 6 hours to move all the items out of my home. I was billed for a little over 10 hours. The move should never have taken 10 plus hours. They believe because they provide an estimate that they can take an extraordinarily amount of time and bill you and excessive amount over. I also bought the crew lunch (which cost me almost $70) and the crew actually billed me for the time they took to eat their lunch. They also damaged my hardwood floors, leather couch and my tv. Great Job Moving and Storage is an extremely dishonest company. I would not recommend them ever.

I could not recommend G&J more highly. Our team was professional, kind, and took great care of our stuff. We moved out of state and were able to have next day delivery. They communicated with us ahead of time to make sure we knew when they'd be at both houses. We made a couple changes to our inventory list and underestimated how many boxes we'd have. Both were handled with zero problems. We had six movers to move us out, and only two came to the new house, so obviously it took longer. Still done in a completely reasonable amount of time. They verified that everything was completed before they left either house. I would 100% use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a company that cares!

DO NOT USE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR ITEMS. I contracted with Great Job Moving and Storage to move several items from my parents house in Springfield, VA to my house in Sterling, VA, a distance of about 30 miles. Included in these items were my mom's piano and her grandfather clock. Knowing that both of these items required special handling, I researched various moving companies and decided on Great Job Moving and Storage in part because they stated (on their website and on the phone) that they had experience moving both of these items. The movers came at the appointed time and were very polite and conscientious about packing my items up. I was very impressed at this point about my choice of movers. When we got to my house they started unloading things and putting them where I asked. Still impressed. Grandfather clock came through perfectly. At the end, I noticed that the piano had not yet been unloaded. That's when the team leader came to me and said that there was a problem. Apparently, they had not properly secured the piano in the truck and during transit, it had fallen over onto whatever was in front of it, snapping off both legs. I was devastated. And p***** because they waited until the very last minute to tell me what had happened when they knew from the beginning that the piano had been broken. The Team Leader made a phone call to his boss and then assured me that they had a very good carpenter who could make new legs for the piano and that I would have it back in a couple of weeks. I paid them the full amount in good faith thinking that I would get my piano back shortly. BIG MISTAKE! It has been almost a year and still no piano. I am heartbroken. I have left several messages for the manager (Jayson Chapman) who has yet to return any of my calls. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE IF YOU VALUE YOUR GOODS!!

Mo and his team were AWESOME. They moved a very special piece of furniture for me and then a week later came back to pack my POD for storage. They were efficient, great communication, everything was packed/wrapped very carefully. Just a great team. I will be using them a 3rd time when it's time to move the POD to its final destination.

It was a horrible experience. The company did an online inventory assessment. We discussed every item that would be moved via this phone conversation, and I overestimated the number of boxes (45). I initially was not going to hire them because of several bad reviews and my previous moving experience, but the customer rep assured me, and I also read some great reviews, so I moved forward with the contract. However, I should have known this was going to be a terrible move when I received a call asking if we were willing to pay $50 more an hour for a fifth person who was initially going on another job, but the job was canceled. I emphatically stated, 'No' I will not pay $50 extra. When they arrived, the fifth person was there (they did not charge me). They arrived with 2 women and 3 men. We have multiple items that are extremely heavy (hence why we called movers). They started moving things into the truck, and I assumed it was based on the inventory list we supplied. One of the movers informed me that all our items would not fit and would need a second trip. This is after 5-6 hours of loading items. I asked the mover to show me the inventory list (I forgot to mention that my husband and I had moved most of the boxes, which left 17 boxes to move (we told GJ moving that there were 45-50) and several items (benches, chairs, patio equipment) and still they did not send a big enough truck to move our items. I immediately knew at that point that this was how they were going to scam me. We reluctantly agreed with no choice but to have them move the items in two trips. When they arrived, all 5 started re-assembling; I then asked if 2 of the movers could go back and get the rest of the items as we were being charged by the hour. At this point, we are 7 hours in of an 8-hour estimated job. Needless to say, it went beyond the 8 hours with not very professional movers. They stacked items incorrectly causing damage to my formal dining room set. Those know that formal dining rooms are rarely used, so they always look brand new. Not anymore - thanks to GJ moving. We were moving into a home where we made some changes. We put in new hardwood floors and had them painted - Yes, they damaged the floors (chipped the floor in one of the rooms) and damaged the walls in the Primary bedroom. Trying to contact the manager Jayson Chapman, was like trying to reach the pope at the Vatican. I NEVER personally spoke to him but was managed through the customer service rep, Anthony. I had to threaten to withhold the credit card payment to get someone to send a claims form for the damages. They did not even try to work out the situation with the extra hours due to their negligence and assessment of the needs for my move. I will NEVER recommend this company, and I hope this will be a warning. I didn't listen to the other bad reviews when I really should've - don't make my mistake.

The move never happened because I was misquoted. The quote doubled because someone didn't factor in drive time days before the scheduled move. I highly disappointed and now having to scramble to find last minute movers. The rep was pushy and guaranteed he'd do a good job. Mistake!!! Should have never believed a pushy representative. Will not try this company again!!!

I booked this company based on the positive reviews and availability on my move date (I moved the day before Thanksgiving). Initially the service seemed great but they assembled my child's bed incorrectly and left screws out - the guy doing the assembly wreaked of weed so I'm sure he was probably high, left heavy items in the old house, and stole half of my Christmas tree. I called the office to tell them about my complaints and was told I would receive a call back from the manager on Wednesday, it's now Friday and I've called multiple times but conveniently they aren't answering the phone. This company has expensive rates but it's not worth the money, don't let the positive reviews fool you, they don't hire quality talent and aren't responsive after your job is complete.

Do not hire Great Job Moving and Storage (GJ). My move with them was a nightmare. On moving day, they told me that the third man on the team would not be joining them, so they brought in a woman who was not a GJ employee. Luckily, they only charged me for 2 movers, instead of 3. However, I was wary of an unknown non-employee handling my belongings. The moving truck was not well stocked. I needed additional boxes and tape, but little to none was available. This was an avoidable error. I'll fast forward to the end result. I came to find out that a fairly expensive item was not delivered to my home. I included this on my claim, along with damage to furniture and my home. I noted this "real property damage" to the movers on move-in day. Still, GJ's insurance company denied my claim for restitution for the real property damage caused by their movers, as well as for the item that was never delivered to my new home. The reason for denying my claims is that I should have noticed the missing item on move-in day. This is an impossibility, as I had approximately 200 items (give or take), most of which were stacked 10 feet high in my garage. There is no way that I would have been able to know on the most hectic day of my decade which items were missing. GJ denied the real property damage, claiming that I did not notify them on move-in day. This is false. First, I notified them of the damage to walls/doors/furniture that I knew of that day. Additional damage was discovered after move-in day. GJ does not allow for disputes to real property damage or missing items. This is a pathetic policy. This is abominable customer service. Run, don't walk, away from Great Job Moving and Storage. I went for a lower-priced option and I regret that I did.
