Like most people, my wife and I work during the day. They will not work unless an adult is present, so the only time we could be there was "after hours". This increased the callout fee to $130. The technician called ahead of time and showed up at the beginning of the appointment range. After some brief trouble shooting he determined that it was a bad capacitor which he had in stock on the truck. Now, the bad news....$340 more. I questioned the price, but he said it was "high capacity" and confirmed the price. It was 95 degrees outside, 86 degrees in the house, getting late, and I had two unhappy little kids. I did not have much of a choice. He installed the part and I paid him. Final bill, $470. In total, he was there for 37 minutes. After I got the kids to bed, I opened up the unit and looked up the part he replaced, $20 on Amazon. I understand they have to make money, but 1600% markup is pretty steep! The next day I called to ask about the price, still thinking it had to be a mistake. On the first call, I left a message and asked for a call back. Later that day I still hadn't received a call back, so I called again. I found out the person I was originally transferred to has not worked there for two years. I was told the service manager would call me next week. He did call and confirmed that was the price. He said they do mark it up even higher since it was after hours. He did agree to at least give me the normal hour’s price, which would bring the bill down to $385. That was a month ago, and we still have not received a credit. I am blown away by this whole experience. There website has several links to Christian organizations and has a very nice honor code. I wish they lived up to those values. $340 for a $20 part that took less than 5 minutes to install is insane. I cannot imagine what they charge for a big item.

I manage three apartment communities in South Bend and after my maintenance tech. could not get my residents A/C working properly we called Great Lakes. They sent their tech out that evening after SEVERAL calls of me having to follow up with them. He did his thing outside with the condenser, didn't feel like going to the third floor to ensure it was working and told my maintenance tech to simply flip this switch and we are good to go. (We paid them on the spot with the company credit card.) Great Lakes leaves and this guys' AC NEVER was working!! My poor maintenance guy spent majority of his memorial day weekend on this and they refused to send anyone back out and I STILL haven't received my money back after multiple calls, the owner has been on vacation out of the country... needless to say, for the weekend we had to go out and pay for a window AC and Legacy came out the following Monday and took care of it. NEVERAGAIN...After another week, I plan on reaching out to the BBB if I don't receive our money back.

The company was very responsive via email to supply information on the various options for a new thermostat. I was most interested in a web-enabled model. Installation was smooth and easy, though the technician showed up at my house without the required hardware and had to wait for someone to deliver it to him. They also came one hour later than scheduled, causing me to miss more work than I should have. I called about 15 minutes after the appointment time and was told that they they always call the customer while on the way, but that was not told to me when I scheduled the appointment. I set a time, not a range. <br /> I have subsequently learned that if I had purchased this thermostat myself and then called the company only to install it, the price may have been as much as $200 difference. So their markup is absurdly high. Lesson learned. <br />

The representative who has been taking care of me here is James. He is on top of the line. The thoroughness and efficieny which James have performed not only with my heating but also my air conditioning are probably the reasons why I'm staying with them. I'm confident I know what he's gonna do. I know I don't have to watch over him because he will do a good job. He has been in the industry and he knows. I feel very confident. I would give him A all the way round.

Didn't show up at the designated time and I had to call. They sent over a technician in about an hour. They were willing to match the offer for my other furnace. Inspections were OK and they didn't try to sell me anything else.

They're prompt and courteous. He made two separate trips in the South Bend to get parts. They called us and gave us a 2-hour window when to expect them so we didn't have to stay around all day. They fixed the problem. He got the job done in the same day that he came out which for having to make two different trips for parts is impressive. The price seemed high but he spent so much time and effort that I really can't complain.

"(member name removed), Can you let me know what we did for you on January 1st of 2010. That was a Friday and I am not able to find any records in our computer that we were out there. This does bother me. Are you sure you are leaving a rating for the correct company? We manually track every invoice number and there are no missing invoices from 2010 (I also checked 2009 and none are missing). Would it maybe be listed in our computer under a different name or a different address? Your reply is appreciated so that I can dig deeper and see what we can do to improve. Thank you kindly."

Repairman came out to work on furnace which had completely quit working. Replaced the "Air Diaphram" on the furnace for $148.00 <br /> He then told me that the "Ignition control Board" was working intermittently and had no idea how long the furnace may continue to <br /> work. He then informed me that this control board was no longer be manufactured and that the replacement boards being made were inferior and that their company would not install the cheaper version due to multiple failures. The repairman then suggested he send a salesman out to give me an estimate on a new furnace. The furnace continued to work for approximately 6 hours and never started again. Service call, $89.00 + $148.00 for parts and STILL NO HEAT. <br />

"We garuantee all of our repairs parts and labor for 1 year. If you would like a refund on your air diaphram we can come remove it and refund the money. As the owner of the company my home and cell number is on all my business cards, therefore I am unwilling to put on a part that we have had problems with and is not a manufacturer oem. If I see a customer at the grocery store I don't want to hide from them. I know we are putting on parts that work. Your furnace model came out in 1982 and Lennox has decided to no longer make parts for it. I wish I could get you a part because that is a GREAT furnace! Lennox service guidelines for that furnace require the air diaphram (& the gas diaphram) to be cleaned and inspected every 12 months and replaced as need but not to exceed a life span of 4 years. I sincerly appreciate your feedback. Perhaps I need to look at offering these lesser parts we have had issues with and then creating a waiver to have signed if the customer chooses to go this route. On their initial 08-24-12 visit, I asked tech Brad to check my "A" coil, he said it would be best to check "A" coil in the fall when the furnace is normally in operation, so when tech Frank came on 11-28-12, I asked him twice to check the "A" coil, he said he would, but he never did, so needless to say my "A" coil still has not been checked. So I guess I'll have to ask for Brad for my spring check up to get that "A" coil checked.
