Green Concepts LLC

We contracted with Green Concepts LLC for a panel replacement and upgrade. They also included a installation of a generator plug as a Winter special at no extra cost. Their work bid was very competitive, complete and honest. There was no attempt to sell something extra, nor were there any hidden / extra charges as was the case with some of the other bids. Monica did the scheduling and handled all the billing, permits and inspection scheduling. This was done in a professional, complete and timely manner. Monica was very easy to deal with via e-mail or phone. The work was scheduled within a reasonable and accommodating time. Work was completed as scheduled and passed inspection with a recommendation of “very well done”. Derek was very professional, through and complete. He took the time to answer questions, make recommendation and give advice. Watching Derek work it was obvious he was not only a Master Electrician but a Master Craftsman as well. His first priority was customer satisfaction and pride in his work rather than high turnover and profit. This is a local firm committed to the improvement of the community and the “Green” concept. I would highly recommend this firm and will use them in the future.

A little late arriving, otherwise all went well.

Fantastic. The problem was a wire that had become disconnected behind one of the outlets, and the tech did a great job of diagnosing the problem, sleuthing around to find the culprit, and then fixing it. He also did a great job of explaining what the fix was.

When Green Concepts provided the quote to do the work, they listed the fee for the permit as follows: and quot;City Permit Fee... $59.50.and quot; Based upon this firm quote, I agreed to have the work done for the total quoted price. When I received the final invoice, Green Concepts had added $89.79 more to the invoice. They explained that they made a mistake and quoted a permit fee from WA State Labor and Industry and even sent this wrong L and I permit to be posted at the job site. When I called the City of Mercer Island the next day to arrange for the City to inspect the work, they said, and quot;No permit had been filed.and quot; I called Green Concepts and they admitted they made a mistake and filled for the permit with the wrong agency and that they would file for the permit with the City of MI. This was done and when I received the invoice for the work, $87.79 was added to the invoice to cover the extra amount Mercer charges over L and I. I wrote a message to Green Concepts and called them to explain that I should not be required to pay for their mistake in creating the quote. I explained that, had their quote been accurate from the onset, that I would have hired another company that would have done the work for less than their final figure. I explained I should not be responsible for their mistake and should not have to pay the extra $87.79. I paid the total amount due, excluding the extra $87.79 added. I explained that I considered the balance due to now be $00.00. The company's representative would not accept this and is asking for the $87.79. I do not plan to pay it. I am requesting a new invoice showing a zero balance due. <br /> <br /> UPDATE REGARDING THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE: <br /> <br /> The damage to the trim and walls and conduit placement has nothing to do with this complaint. <br /> <br /> This complaint concerns getting changed $87.79 over what the quote showed. Green Concepts admits giving me a quote that contained an error: “Regarding the original bid, … we (Green Concepts) did include the wrong (low) city permit cost.” I hired them based upon their low quote. Customers need to be able to count on the accuracy of a quote. Customers should not have to pay for mistakes made in a quote. Their charge for an extra $87.79 is not appropriate and I will not pay it. <br /> <br /> The damage to trim wood and the fact that I have to repaint two walls, as Green Concepts mentioned, is accurate. I am absorbing the cost to repaint the walls. Green Concepts paid to replace and stain the damaged trim. But once again, these additional problems are not part of this complaint.

<p>Project goal: Replace all old knob and tube wires/aluminum wires</p> <p>Challenge: house was partial updated by prior owner, with several hidden junction boxes (aka cluster f*$k mess)</p> <p>Derek was excellent at tracking down the mess left by the prior owner and fixing the wiring at a reasonable price. Derek came by on a Saturday to fix one problem but as with any home project, we found other items that needed to be corrected. Turn into a slightly bigger project, but Derek fit the work into his schedule, completed the work over two weekends.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>I plan to use Derek for all my future electrical needs.</p> <br />

Derek was partnered with my HVAC company for a new A/C installation. I could not have been happier with the recommendation and the work performed. <br /> I had some concerns about placement, aesthetics, and future needs / options; he answered all my questions with options, advice, and recommendations. He came out to pre-inspect and review the job, discussed the best way to handle the work, described everything in detail, and came underbid for the final pricing. Handled are permitting and instructed me on the process and inspection. <br /> The conduit installation was straight, clean, and perfect. The outside outlets are well done; everything sealed and aesthetically precise. He's a perfectionist; even adapting to make the aesthetics better as he got into the job. <br /> Derek and Monica's communication is fantastic, they document everything, and are quick to respond. <br /> Finding an electrician contact is difficult; but I'm confident with Derek and Monica for my future needs. Highly recommended. <br /> <br />

I was really impressed with the overall experience of this company. I had several electricians no show or cancel and two that never actually gave me an estimate after coming to my house. I used thumbtack to get a estimate and they responded to me quickly and was able to come and give me a free estimate the next day. As promised I had the quote an hour later and was able to schedule the work for the following Saturday. He came on time worked very h****** our old house and did everything with precision and professionalism. He was kind, considerate and the quote was actually a bit less when he finished. He pointed out and explained everything and gave us options for things that he had to do a bit differently since our house is much older. I had an emailed receipt before he even pulled out of the driveway. I would definitely use them again in the future and would recommend him to anyone, he is reasonable, prompt and really knows what he is doing! <br />

Derek did a great job and did it in a timely manner. We needed a panel in our garage for my husband's wood working tools and Derek did exactly what we asked. We plan to have him come out again soon to add and move some outdoor lighting. <br />

We initially called Green Concepts out for an estimate for a new electrical panel on a thursday morning, by our surprise Derek was able to make it out to our house that evening. Derek was very informative and gave us every option that would best suit our needs since we would be doing a kitchen remodel in the near future. The price he quoted us was very reasonable. Derek also scheduled to do the work on a Saturday at no extra cost to accomidate our busy work schedule. When Saturday came he showed up on time *15 minutes early* and completed the job in the quoted time that he said. Overall our experience with Green Concepts was outstanding. We will absolutely use Green Concepts again for any future electrical project. <br />
