I live in Winfield, IL and had a mold issue after a check valve failure on my sump pump. My plumber referred me to Jim Blandi at Green Home Solutions. Jim returned my call quickly, asked thoughtful questions, and asked me to send photos of the affected area. After reviewing them and discussing the situation with me, he determined that I could safely handle the issue myself. He told me exactly what to buy at a local home improvement store and walked me through how to use the products, emphasizing proper protective equipment. He didn’t charge me for his time or guidance. It’s rare to find a company that is this honest and helpful. Jim could have easily sold me a service, but instead he empowered me to fix the problem myself. I’m incredibly grateful and highly recommend Green Home Solutions for their integrity and professionalism.

We bought a home that had substantial previous mold damage that was not properly remediated by the sellers and was never disclosed. When we first discovered the mold, we contact a mold remediator found by local advertisements. They first came out right away but then when we discovered the extent of the mold, they no longer were responsive. My realtor then recommended Jim and Green Home. Jim came right out, surveyed the house, and knew the course of action. Not only did him and his team remediate the mold, he gave specific instructions, and any contacts necessary, to fix our moisture issues and stop the mold from coming back. Very professional and thorough, I can not recommend them enough!

Used Jim's firm based on the recommendation of neighbors. He came and did a thorough inspection, educated me about mold and humidity issues. He also alerted me to a possible gas leak (which I couldn't smell), later confirmed by Nicor. That finding alone was worth his reasonable fee. I highly recommend Jim and his firm.
