GREYSTONE INTERIORS

Electrical for Home Addition or Remodel - Install, Electrical for Home Addition, Electrical Wiring or Panel Upgrade,

About us

Greystone Interiors was established in 1986 after a long relationship with a national decorating franchise. We chose our name from a large victorian home we owned in Pickerington, Ohio. When built in 1904 the home was named Greystone and had both Greystone and Welcome Friends laid in tile risers that approached from the street. We have since left our city home, and after a stint in a strip mall, finally settled in our country cottage in 1995. We are located on Lancaster Avenue in Reynoldsburg, Ohio just north of the five way intersection of SR 256, LivingstonAvenue, Slate Ridge and Graham Road. Our hours are 10AM to 5PM Monday thru Friday and 10AM to 3PM Saturday. We are also available by appointment. We have a wonderful boutique offering unique furniture, accessories, wall art, and cabinet displays. We also offer all types of custom window treatments, wall coverings, custom rugs and many other products and services to help decorate or remodel your home to suit your needs and personality.

Greystone was one of the last of 10 contractors I met with to discuss my project. When they came in with innovative ideas on ways to cut costs, then produced a reasonable estimate I chose them and couldn't be happier. The job was completed on time and turned out better than I could have imagined. Very meticulous, skilled, great design ideas and a courteous crew. I'd recommend them highly to anyone who asked.

At the time, it seemed to go well and I gave Greystone Interiors a great review on Angie's List. However, it is now 3 years later and the work is shown to be shoddy. The grout on the floor of the remodeled bathroom is all coming out. We called Greystone and were told that there was only a one year warranty and to call a grout repairman. We called two different repair businesses and were told that they could not repair the grout because it had not been installed correctly. So, here we are 3 years later having to tear out all the flooring, purchase new tile, and to pay for reinstallation. I have changed my opinion of Greystone Interiors. While the new renovations look great immediately following the installation - the work does stand the test of time. I have been in homes that have tile work over 20 years old. For tile work to last less than 3 years is unacceptable.

Greystone Interiors provided outstanding service with awesome results for this remodel. From the initial contact, design guidance given, and planning, Pat Jewell, was there. The demolition of the existing bathroom was done quickly and with minimum interruption to our daily living. All the steps in the construction were planned and executed so there would be no waiting on materials, etc. Dale Jewell even designed special cabinets to house our electric toothbrushes. (An important feature to me.) Frequent visits by both Pat and Dale were made to ensure that the remodel stayed on track and we were happy with the progress being made. The whole project was beyond our expectations......Oh, and all debris was cleaned up and hauled away each day. Greystone has already started the second bathroom!!!

Greystone Interiors was a pleasure to work with from day one. Pat came out to meet us to give us an estimate. She was prompt and courteous. We decided to work with Greystone because of their responsiveness and the fact that they help you as much as you need in the design and decision making process. We had met with other contractors before that basically just tell you to go to the store and pick out what you want without any help or guidance.

We met with Pat at their showroom to select the cabinets and she met us at other stores before construction began to select the granite, backsplash, etc. She was very helpful by guiding without being pushy about her opinions.

When the work began, the other owner Dale was on-site everyday of the construction until the job was almost completed. All of the workers that came were courteous and trust-worthy and very respectful of our living space. We were amazed at how quickly the job was progressing along the way. We also were amazed at how well they cleaned up everyday after the day's work was completed.

At the end of the project, there were just a couple of small things that we asked to be touched up/repaired and they came promptly without question to complete the tasks.

We love how beautifully the kitchen turned out and we are super happy with the overall experience, which you don't often hear when people are doing a kitchen remodel.

We definitely would call on Greystone again for any future home remodeling needs and we definitely would recommend them to our friends and family.

Met with Pat Jewell in our home as she presented different designs and wood kinds available for use. Mike, the carpenter worked with diligence and preciseness. What an improvement to our closet! It now looks like "Home Beautiful" magazine! All workers were good, thoughtful and respectful of our home. The steps were covered with a plastic covering. All sawdust was disposed of. They carted away all of their trash and old shelving. We were very pleased with the time schedule with work completed within time estimate. We were pleased with the expert workers who were brought in.
The workers always spoke when entering our home and told us when they were leaving at the close of the day or for their lunch break. They didn't leave any trash in our home. If there was a question about anything, Dale Jewell always met with us to explain it.

Met with Pat Jewell in our home who presented suggestions for materials and complimentary colors. Work was done per schedule. Workers were respectful of our home. Did excellent job of tiling shower with decorative design that gives it an upscale improvement look.. Did work within cost estimate. Installed toilet topper. Replaced sinks and cabinet. Installed new flooring. Always told us when they would arrive and when finished each day cleaned up the space. Covered our steps with protective plastic. Kept our outside door shut.
We love working with Greystone Interiors. They remodeled our kitchen 7 years ago and when we purchased our new home in November 2013 we did not hesitate to contact Pat Jewel for an estimate. Pat was very prompt in coming over to assess the work and provide an estimate. One of the reasons I love working with Pat is that she has a great eye and provides ideas and guidance on what would look good. Her experience with other customers is invaluable. She knows what will not only look good but will also withstand family living. For this remodel Greystone Interiors again exceeded our expectations. Everything looks wonderful. They did the work quickly but did not overlook the details. They involved us in decisions when something came up unexpectedly. We have received many compliments from friends and family when showing off our new home. We have also asked for a proposal for Greystone to do additional work in our Florida room.
Overall, the company did not perform the job they promised and that we paid for them to do. For example, hot and cold water taps were reversed, a water filtration system was installed backwards and backed up our water system (we paid for the repair ourselves), the cabinet which Greystone made for the kitchen is too big for the space and as such they were not able to finish the crown molding above and below the cabinet (it remains unfinished), the closet doors in the bedrooms to not close unless the doors are slightly lifted as the door is pushed closed, the toilet is not properly fastened to the floor and wobbles, the toilet does not flush properly, a window was installed without a sill in the bathroom, a towel rack was installed at shoulder height rather than the height we agreed upon, the crew used the dumpster we paid for to throw out materials from another job and then they charged us for a second dumpster which would not have been necessary had they not filled it with trash from another job, the pipes from the bathroom faucet are leaking into our kitchen and we currently have a pail hanging from the ceiling to catch the water, and finally the drain from the bathtub just began leaking into our kitchen today. We have been in contact with Pat Jewell from Greystone regarding these problems. She sent a plumber out to investigate the leak from the bathroom into the kitchen on two occasions. The first time the plumber determined it was a roof leak and the second time (after we paid a roofer to come out on 3 occassions and he found nothing) the plumber correctly assessed that the leak was coming from the bathroom pipe. Since that time I've had only one email back from Pat saying that she is "investigating".
Response from GREYSTONE INTERIORS
"It has taken a lot of thought to respond to the dispute with this customer for several reasons. The first is that our contract clearly states all work is guaranteed for one year, as is typical for all remodelers and builders. We completed this job in April of 2011. On August 28, 2012 I received an email that they had discovered a leak coming through the kitchen ceiling (16 months after completion). We sent a plumber out at our expense even though the warranty had expired. He could not find any pipes leaking and told the homeowner it must be the roof. All of this was by email and is documented. At this point all the emails mentioned was the leak. Apparently they had a roofer out a few times and his opinion it was not the roof. Only July 10, 2013 I received another email again asking us to send a plumber. Our plumber went out yet again and used a remote camera to look inside the wall. He did in fact see a leak coming from the old pipe in the wall. He apparently told the homeowner the tile would need to be removed for it to be repaired. According to the plumber there is no reason to believe it is pipes we installed and in fact, it if was, it would not have taken over a year to appear. This home was built in the 1800s and has undergone many remodels and changes as it relates to pluming and it common knowledge that pipes that old can take on leaks at any time. This is especially true when the plumbing had been under used or not used at all for periods of time as I believe was true in this case. The second reason is every time we have sent a plumber or other tradesman to this house, they have been subjected to constant ridicule of our company the entire time they are there. The plumber was quite uncomfortable when there. (See email) Thirdly these customers continue to add to their list as time goes on. As I said this job was completed in April of 2011. Now they have decided to try to hurt our reputation on Angies List. Are they even allowed to dispute or review two years after the job is completed? In closing, the fourth and final reason for my inability to deal with this customer through Angies List is that our contracts carry an arbitration clause that disputes that arise will be settled by arbitration."

Pat arrived promptly at the time she said she would. We toured my home and she gave me feedback on each room as we went, asking great questions about how the rooms are used and what I would like them to be. She really looked at what I have, how I live, my choices in art. She also really listened to what I had to say. By the time we sat down at the table over coffee, she already had wall colors in mind. We discussed the color for each room and how the color scheme would fit with what I have and how I could re-purpose some things. She made some window treatment suggestions and suggested some paint brands, paint stores, painters, and an antique store I might enjoy.
I appreciated her honesty, her humor, her personality and especially her expertise. I absolutely recommend Pat without any hesitation!
Greystone came out redid my kitchen and also worked on the entire first floor of my home except the floor. They installed new cabinets, new lighting, they ripped out all the old soffits and installed a new ceiling, installed new granite countertops, and installed new flooring in dining room. They also removed all the wallpaper on the first floor, the staircase and downstairs hallway. They prepped and painted the walls. They did a wonderful job. The workers were wonderful could not have been more considerate. They were very careful about cleaning up during and after the work was completed. They were so thoughtful before they started tearing things out of my kitchen they brought me a microwave so that I could heat up food if I needed to. I was very impressed with them. Patricia Jewel was wonderful, she was always asking if everything is going well, and if there were any problems or issues. Very pleased with my overall experience. Very satisfied with price and quality.

I had originally called Greystone for a small project, and that small project ended up becoming an entire first floor remodel/redecorate. Pat, Dale, and the rest of their team made the entire project go quickly and efficiently. They went out of their way to ensure we were without a kitchen for as little time as possible. Our family was anticipating not having access to the first floor until Christmas time, however we were using the space well before Thanksgiving. Construction began in September. Some of the fine tune decorating extended past the holidays, but it was nothing critical and did not detract from the overall beauty of the project.
We were so impressed with Greystone that we hired them to remodel our parents bathroom to make it more handicapped accessible. That project turned out beautifully as well. We plan to have Greystone back in this spring and fall to continue our makeover on the house.

My husband and I knew absolutely nothing about remodeling a kitchen when we started gathering recommendations for contractors. Well, that's not true. We knew of their general reputation, which was that they were highly unreliable, and given to trying to extract more money from you than was agreed upon. Not a good preconception. Let me begin this review by saying that I know with certainty from my experience with Pat and Dale that they are completely ethical, responsible professionals.
Greystone was one of 3 contractors we interviewed for our remodel. They came in with the lowest bid. We were immediately impressed with Pat and Dale's professional and open demeanor. It was made clear that we could call with any questions both prior to the job start and throughout the building. Dale is the architect half of the team, with Pat providing interior decorator services. We were surprised that Dale showed up on the first day of the job, and found out quickly that he came on site every day. We were delighted to learn that he was also a co-owner of the company! How often do you have an owner overseeing the work you're paying for? He is also a perfectionist, which we didn't mind at all.
Dale and his employees showed up every day around 9:00AM and left at 5-6:00PM. If they didn't show up for work one day it was because they were waiting on items they hadn't yet received (cabinetry, pendants, flooring, etc.). We were always told if there would be a no work day (which happened rarely). The sub-contractors Dale and Pam hired were, to a man, responsible, hard-working men. And they all cleaned up after themselves, treating our home and garage as if it were their own. They finished our medium sized kitchen in a mind-boggling 4 weeks!
Both Pam and Dale had terrific ideas for our kitchen. Pam makes the sometimes arduous, often anxiety producing shopping of parcels for your kitchen (granite, cabinetry, sink, flooring, etc.) as pain free as possible. And for those customers who don't have a lot of confidence in esthetic matters, she is a terrific resource who can help you get the beautiful kitchen you want, but weren't able to visualize.
Both my husband and myself highly recommend without reservation Greystone Interiors. Peace of mind is worth a lot in my opinion. And that is what you'll enjoy if you hire these proficient, highest standard seeking professionals.

I called Greystone Remodeling when I was looking to remodel my kitchen. I selected them from Angie's List based on the comments of others. Pat Jewell came to the house and listened to what I wanted done and made some suggestions. She gave me a price which was more than I wanted to spend but I realized that I would need to spend that much to get a finished product. The other contractors gave me about the same price but the rapport with Pat convinced me to go with Greystone. I went to the office for selecting materials and colors. Pat has an incredible sense of color and helped me pick out a fantastic combination of colors. Dale shifted things around in the kitchen since the stove would not meet code where it was placed. They started sooner than I expected. There was a holiday during the construction time and the two week estimate extended a bit because of having to wait on the counters, etc. One of the things I greatly appreciated was the detail that was included in the estimate. The only thing they missed were two plugs for the kitchen. The estimate was right on target even though I felt like I was getting some extras along the way. I LOVE my new kitchen. Pat's guidance in selecting the colors was amazing. I cannot be more pleased! Pat contacted us to give us heads up on each step of the process and made sure we had an emergency sink when it turned out the counters would not be in until the next Monday. Their contractors were talented and fun to deal with. Pat and Dale were professional yet relaxed and understanding when the "remodeling blue" got to us. I cannot say enough positive about this whole experience. Thanks you Greystone.

WOW!!! I am really shocked by the last review. I TOTALLY DISAGREE!! I have been meaning to post to this site since the project was done, however; trying to get things together as we had both children graduating from college and getting our home ready for 51 guest and also taking my 94 year old mother-n-law back home and just returning on Sunday I was totally tied up. My husband and I had decided to refinish our hardwood floors as it had been 20 years since they had be done, I called Pat Jewell because I also wanted some interior design work done and I had told my husband since we were redoing our hardwood floors we should have the crown modeling and trim re-done to match all the other rooms as we have done multiple remodeling in the 20 years we have been in our home. Pat came to see me and I had never used them for remodeling before, however Dale had been the person in charge 12 years ago when we re-did our family room working for another company at the time. I have personally used Pat's expertise over the last 12 years for interior design purpose. Once Pat arrived my husband and I meet with her, totally forgetting they now remodeling as well, as Pat and my husband were talking about things my husband decided since we were doing the floors the vanity in our master bath needed to be replaced, I felt the thing that needed the most replacing was our shower as when we installed it 12 years ago and it was done improperly, the last time the bathrooms were done it was a TOTAL NIGHTMARE, our bathrooms were torn up from June to October. As both of children were graduating from college, I was very concerned, as we have used so many contractors over the years and none of them as ever meet the deadline for one reason or another. Not only did Greystone finish our work on-time, they were a week ahead of schedule. Every single person that worked in our home was very professional, accomodating to the extra's we threw in, at almost 2 times per week, they were always puncutai. When there was going to be a day that they could do nothing until a another piece was finished I was informed the day prior as well received a call reminding me that day. Dale and J.R. were always kind, professional and courteous. As far as Pat Jewell, she has always been very professional, always listening to my likes and dislikes, whether she agreed or not. She has always been most helpful. As I said earlier we had 51 guest here for our kids party and everyone was most impressed, 4 guest have requested their name to possibly work for them. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

I expected people from Greystone Interiors Company to be more upfront. I haven’t dealt with a lot of remodeling people before. However, I had a basic idea of what I wanted but they didn’t ask for my inputs. They put in a wrong window; they didn’t inform us before they installed it. I was expecting them to be more professional. It was poor communication from their side. One doesn’t go through remodeling every week so they should anticipate what information they should provide the owners with. I would not use them in the future.

Pat Jewell did an excellent job of guiding us through the entire design/construction process and the outcome is better than we could have ever imagined. Dale and his crews were able to start earlier than originally scheduled and finished early, even though the previous year's structural damage due to jacking (by others) to address a major settling issue was more extensive than previously thought. Steve (the tiler) is a gifted artist and his work is complemented by all our guests. Overall, the Greystone team was professional, focused, punctual and went the extra mile to help us through months of extensive and intrusive reconstruction work. We've already contacted them to see if they can help us with our next round of home repair work.
