Groovy Hues Painting of Cedar Park

10/10 - Thanks to Mike and his team (Jason, Sara, & Warren) for the beautiful paint job on my 1990’s home. The team completed a full interior paint job on approximately 1200sf within less than three days. I highly recommend Groovy Hues for their professionalism, responsiveness, and the quality work they did in transforming my old house into a new beautiful home. 💯 Quality work! Happy Customer!

We hired Groovy Hues in fall 2023 to paint our home and cabinets. Now that it’s been about 2.5 years, I feel confident giving a more complete and fair review. To start with the positives—Trey and the team were very patient and flexible during the planning phase. I was pretty indecisive with paint colors, and Trey was gracious about it. They also allowed us to use multiple different colors throughout the house without adding extra charges, which I appreciated. Overall, the walls turned out fine. There were some minor missed spots and occasional sloppiness (paint where it shouldn’t have been), but nothing major compared to the bigger issues. Unfortunately, the process itself was long and frustrating. We had to call them back multiple times for corrections, and many of those fixes created new problems. At different points, they got paint on our freshly painted cabinets while fixing walls, scratched wood furniture when moving items, failed to reinstall light switch covers, and even reinstalled one incorrectly so the light no longer worked. There were also numerous areas that required repeated follow-ups. At one point, the issues were so extensive that my husband had to go room by room marking problem areas with blue tape—and there were a lot. The biggest issue for us has been the cabinets. During prep, Miranda had mentioned sanding the cabinets, but the foreman, Herman, chose not to sand and instead used a bonding agent. That decision clearly affected the durability. Within months, the paint started chipping and wearing off, and over time it has only gotten worse. Now, 2.5 years later, the original espresso color is showing through in multiple areas. We had them come back several times early on, but the fixes never held, and we eventually stopped calling because it felt like temporary patches rather than a real solution. What’s especially frustrating is that this is not just a past issue—it’s current. As of now in 2026, while preparing to move, we reached out again for touch-ups. We emailed, called, and contacted Herman directly. The office took our information and said they would follow up—but we never heard back at all. Being completely ignored at this stage speaks volumes about how much their words is worth. For context, we documented many of these issues at the time with photos and videos, including examples of the workmanship and repeated problem areas. At this point, enough time has passed to say this wasn’t just a rough project—it’s a long-term quality and service issue. While the price was reasonable and the wall paint was acceptable overall, the cabinet work and lack of follow-through were major disappointments. I would not use this company again.

The guys Were very meticulous. They went above and beyond expectations. I did a little work with them and they worked open arms!!! They seemed to be tickled to have me working with them!!!

Mike did a great job with painting the whole house plus a few extra items. Price was extremely competitive and communication was great.

I am more than happy with the results. They got here early and worked diligently. They finished by mid-afternoon and the results are truly beautiful!! The paint is smooth and uniform. They even painted the house number which had nearly warn away! I highly recommend Groovy Hues!

Working with this company was a great experience. They were able to work with my schedule and completed job ahead of time. The outcome is amazing and I will definitely work with this company again. Highly recommend to anyone.
