The guys were great! I usually do things like this on my own bc I’m so OCD but had no time to complete it. They stuck to their timeline and was in and out before I knew it! Very good workmanship! Definitely using GC Outdoor again in the future!

Excellent. Fastest customer service I ever experienced. Scott the owner especially focused on details and correcting any problems. Scott's knowledge of services provided by his company, ability to analyze a problem, and develop solid and effective solutions were critical to my decision-making. And it made the decision-making process easy and seamless.

The job entailed:
(1) removing old, beat up Bermuda grass;
(2) leveling out the back yard (removing an ineffective swale which rendered the yard difficult to walk in);
(3) removing prior stone walled garden areas - without damaging the plants;
(4) laying out the wall - this took us a while, with Scott patiently repositioning stones an inch or two to create a wall line that is aesthetically pleasing;
(5) installing a drain system behind the wall, and packing it with clean, black dirt ($600 worth of it!);
(6) capping off the wall with decorative stones, which were glued down for stability - creating extra seating in the garden;
(7) laying sod - gorgeous, thick, premium fescue cut to precise bed lines;
(8) repositioning existing sprinkler heads to provide coverage to the garden above the wall;
(9) trenching bed lines in the large front yard (which has healthy, but invasive, Bermuda grass) and refreshing the pine straw mulch at the bed lines throughout the yard;
(10) cleaning up the job site.
In just under a week, Ground Cover transformed a sad-looking yard into a place we enjoy inviting friends. I love looking out the kitchen window to see the graceful curves of the wall, and I look forward to filling the new easy-access garden with plants.
Summary: The first thing I appreciate about Scott is that he takes the time to consult with the homeowner on the best plan for the job: when to schedule it, what materials to use, how to arrange for deliveries at just the right time, etc. The second thing I appreciate about Scott is that he follows through on his plan, consults when there are new decisions to be made, takes great care not to damage existing structures (like our underground sprinkler system) and brings talented, hard workers to do the job. We've hired Ground Cover before, so we were confident hiring them for this much larger job.

Scott brought a crew of three to the house at 8:30 Sunday morning, as promised, and they worked steadily until 6:30 PM with just a couple of breaks. First they transplanted over a dozen shrubs and grasses on a hillside; then they eliminated all of the weeds in various beds; then they used a weed-eater and round-up on the hillside unplanted area; then they edged all of the beds; then they cleaned up all of the debris; then they expertly spread the pine straw to dress up the gardens and discourage future weeds. It looks gorgeous - not just one or two beds, but the entire yard, front, back and sides. No wonder it took all day; it would have taken me every weekend for a month to accomplish so much. I smiled all day.
Scott checked in several times by phone and in person to make sure everything was going well. I've hired garden help before, but I've never had a team work so well: careful not to pull out good plants, but quick to eliminate the weeds and stubborn Bermuda grass encroaching on the flowers; cheerfully doing every task requested; able to give good advice when asked; working steadily as long as it took to get it right. Scott fit me into his busy schedule this week because I will have company next weekend, and as a new customer, that level of consideration was terrific. Of course, I got Ground Cover's card from my long-time trusted nursery, Triple Creek (on Banks Mill Rd. in Douglas County), so I knew he would do a good job.
