They were pretty good. I had a whole of house in Arizona for four and a half years. The stuff wasn’t packed in storage and they earned their money. They got to my house in Washington at 3:30 in the afternoon and it took them till 8:30 at night. It was three guys but the driver sits in the truck. He only helps a little bit because he is the supervisor I guess. I said something to the two guys and they didn’t speak too much English. I thought it was a lot of money but I think they deserved it since it was so much work. I thought that they were pretty good. They packed my stuff really well and they did a good job.

They were the cheapest of the companies I found. It began well; I had good communications. We boxed up everything except for larger furniture ( beds, bookcase, tables, etc). The truck came and labeled everything with a number and made a list of all the items. Very generic list with few details ( I had labeled all the boxed with an address sticker and so I would know what was in them for myself). The guys on the Hawaii end packed everything up all nice and left the house. I knew that my stuff would sit in Hawaii for a few weeks while it was packed into moving containers and then set up with a ship. I was told I would get a call when my stuff would sail from Hawaii to California. It never happened. I emailed then about 6 weeks into the affair to get an update ( no online tracking) and was told that the ship had arrived into LA on July 23 rd. I did receive an email about the final balance due on delivery. So far, everything was going fine with the exception of lack of communication on their part.

On August 8th, I got en email giving my details that I could expect delivery around August 20-27 although this was not a guarantee. I asked about changing the delivery address. I had moved in the 2 months since I left Hawaii. They agreed to change the delivery address for no fee. That was nice of them. I also found out at this point that my items were being delivered by an 18 wheel semi and that there would be a $300 charge if the truck could not get into your neighborhood. They would rent a smaller truck and unload from the semi to your home. My contract mentioned the $300 charge if the vehicle couldn't get into your neighborhood. It never said it was an semi truck. How many semis have you seen in a residential neighborhood? I was upset at this point since it was taking so long to get my items. I emailed the person back about any other fees I would need to pay. I was assuming the semi truck could not get into my neighborhood and I would need cash to pay the driver. The contract said $300 for the first 500 cubic feet then $0.50 per cubic foot after. I paid for 500 cubic feet of goods, but I didn't know if I had more than that. I asked for a final volume of good to have the cash available ( I don't have cash lying around). This is when I stopped hearing from Guardian. No more emails, no returned calls. I planned for the worse when the good arrived.

I was told that I would receive a call the day before my goods arrived. I got a call at 9:30 pm on August 25th. It was the driver saying he was in neighborhood and would be there tomorrow morning. Nice forward notice; luckily I didn't have to go to work. I called the deliver guy the next morning and he said he would be over in a few hours. They did manage to get the semi truck into this neighborhood so I didn't need the $300 fee ( it just seemed sneaky after the fact). They unloaded everything and checked all the items off the packing list. I had 129 parcels. It is easy to miss a few. I found I was missing 1 box, the shelf and legs from a book case. Not the end of the world. I know that since I had a spreadsheet with what I had packed and what was in the box. I called Guardian later that day to ask about the missing items. They forwarded me to a voicemail and I am waiting for a call back. As of today August 27, 2014 I am working on getting my lost items. To be fair, it has only been 24 hrs since delivery at the time of writing this.

I only had a few breakages ( not unexpected of drinking glasses). The items were in good shape. They did a nice job on wrapping the beds, tv, and large furniture. The delivery/packing people were very nice and did their jobs fine. The people responsible for all the in between business were the ones that lack professionalism. Promises were made and broken continually. Communication is really bad in the lack thereof. I would not do business with them again

Moving is expensive and stressful enough, save yourself the added expense and headache of utilizing this moving service. If you do decide to utilize them, here is some of what you can expect:
1) Unanswered phone calls, voicemails, and emails: You will receive excellent communication when they are trying to lock down your business, then once you have committed to their service, a complete lack of communication will follow.
2) Unexpected charges: That credit card number you gave them to place a deposit, or start payment - expect to see some additional charges that you did not authorize.
3) Being yelled at: If you have never experienced being yelled at by a customer representative, this might be your chance to have a company that claims to be serving you demonstrate anger management issues over the phone.
4) Yet more unexpected charges: Dishonest measurements of the dimensions of your household goods arrived at by and quot;eyeballingand quot; the items as they have been and quot;doing this for yearsand quot;, then the additional charges that come along with these very accurate measurements.
For the sake of brevity, I will stop here, but would be happy to share more with whomever is interested.
*I apologize for the third-person, sarcastic tone, which I realize is not standard fare for Angie's List reviews. In reality the lack of professionalism demonstrated by this company was so beyond anything I had experienced, rather than vent my frustration, the lighthearted tone somehow takes the edge off of how painful this experience has been.
Sales person Chris Brown promised company could move all our stuff for $7900.00 and deliver on agreed date of Aug. 16th when we would be in Hawaii. They showed up to pick up our items at the house and their foreman who spoke English went around putting orange dots on things that had to go. Unfortunately, there were 5 of them and 2 of us, 4 of them spoke no English. We could not keep track of what was being marked or moved, but most, if not all boxes were marked to stay or go to Hawaii, and some marked fragile. They were told this. They took some of the boxes that were supposed to stay and left boxes that were supposed to go. They also left a terrible mess all over the house. I later found 17 empty rolls of packing tape everywhere. When they finished with them they left them wherever they dropped them, even though I had supplied a garbage for them to dispose of things. They showed up late with a second truck that was 3 hours late. We never got to load some of the items my husband wanted to bring because it was so late and we are both disabled and were exhausted when they set off from our storage area, where I also had some furniture to be sent. Unfortunately, we found that they had packed and sent some valuable china that was not supposed to go and I had TOLD them this. Also, in the contract, every bed that was taken apart was supposed to be put back together, not only were they not, the furniture was in the opposite rooms. They had packed the bedrooms with so many boxes they claimed they could not make the beds! Later when we got to Hawaii our friends had to come and re-move all the furniture, they put one bed together so we could sleep. Items were broken or smashed. Expensive crystal glasses and vases were broken. So is my desk and an expensive piece of glass in my sofa table is badly chipped. Since furniture did not arrive when promised we had to come back to Chicago and my contractor had to supervise the unpacking and set-up of furniture. He said they were just throwing things anywhere and not in the rooms marked on the boxes. When we got there later on it was a nightmare. We were there for 2 weeks and still can't find things. They claimed they moved 150 boxes but if there were we can't find them. We think we were definitely overcharged for this horrible service, and the missed delivery date. They were supposed to deliver on 3 occasions but kept claiming the trucks were breaking down or they didn't have any drivers and they had no way to deliver. So when I finally got my bill, they were trying to make me pay for storage because they were holding my stuff while their trucks were broken down. They never even told me the furniture was there! I told them I knew about the trouble they had with the trucks and they were trying to charge this fraudulent fee of around $900.00 or something. Also they showed up without warning one day when they knew they had to contact my contractor who literally lived 2 blocks up to meet them and said no one was there and went back to Kona. They made me pay that before they would release my furniture. I was outraged. My contract went from $7900.00 to the 9452.31 plus the $500 re-delivery fee.
I have pictures of all the mess they made and the way they delivered. They smashed and dented and scratched furniture, broke some very expensive vases and lamps shades were squashed and unusable .
the $500 they charged was not for what they claim. They showed up at the house at 4;30 in the afternoon told my friends there it would take 8 hours to unpack and it was too late so they left. The check issue was a moot point it was nothing to send a new one as I had already given them 1/2 for a deposit. Then for 3 days my contractor would show up at the house waiting for these guys who had an excuse every day about something. For 2 days they didn't have enough trucks to deliver, then 1 day they called and said the driver was sick and couldn't make it. They held my furniture hostage for 3 days til I paid that storage fee that I was not responsible for. They took stuff that was supposed to stay here in Chicago and left stuff that was supposed to go. We've had to bring our things up there when we go, and the stuff from Chicago had to come back. It's been a nightmare!

"Our sales representatives provide the best quote possible based on information provided by the customer. In this particular case, we had been provided by [member name removed] a list of 105 items to be moved before the pick up date. The actual number of items we moved came out to be 291 items though, which caused the charges and service to increase. When the delivery time arrive, we did have some concerns with the maintenance of our trucks but we would never charge a customer extra for our vehicle issues. The Waiting Fee of $500 that was charged to [member name removed] was due to a delay on proper payment for delivery. When our crew arrived on October 7th to make delivery, the cashier’s check was made payable to another company of which we could not accept. [member name removed] then made the final payment via credit card and our crew returned the next day on October 8th to make the delivery. The $500 Waiting Fee was to hold the items overnight since we had expected to make delivery on the 7th but were not able to. As listed per the quote and contract, we have up to 45 business days effective from the first date of availability to perform delivery. The first date of availability listed was August 15th and delivery was made on October 8th. We do not guarantee specific delivery dates and [member name removed] delivery was performed within the contractual agreement. During the day, the third party member that [member name removed] assigned to represent her had instructed our crew on the placement of items. Our crew member did not arbitrarily put items where ever they decided nor would they recklessly throw items about. Upon request we will reassemble furniture and place to the desired location within the house. The representative present during the move did instruct the delivery crew to perform these tasks, to which we will not force it to happen then. However, the rep present during the delivery asked our crew to move other items not related to the move, to which they happily agreed to assist."

It went horribly; a Chris Brown (shyster to the 3rd degree) called me only to get money or info, but when everything got started he never returned my emails nor my phone calls. He gave us a quote of $8977for a 20 ft truck. They showed up with a 24 foot truck throwing us off altogether. They ended up filling THAT truck and calling for another one which took over 3 hours to get there. BY the time everything was done it was getting dark and we were exhausted, and stuff was just loaded willy-nilly. The quote then jumped to over $19,000 for the move. we were fit to be tied! This was of course AFTER they picked up the furniture.
The furniture was picked up around July 28th. They asked when we would be there. We told them we?d be there mid August or whenever they could get the furniture there we?d be there to let them in. They took that as having meant when we?d be available and added 30 to 45 days to it. The stuff should have been there Aug 10th to the 16th as they promised, I kept trying to reach someone to find out where our stuff was and no one EVER returned my emails and calls.
Finally late in Aug. they claimed that our stuff was there but most of their trucks were broken down and they only had 2 men to deliver to the entire island and ours would be there when they could get it there. In the meantime, my husband and I had flown out there expecting to meet our furniture arrival, but we again got the message the trucks were still broke down.
We had to change our ticket dates to extend our stay at $200 each. When we could no longer stay, I signed over consecutorship to my contractor, and he and his foreman both called and got the same story. It cost me dearly to get this done and when it was finally ready to be delivered I got a call from their dispatch saying that they wanted me to pay not only for the storage while THEIR TRUCKS had been broken down but also for the re-delivery and they wanted cash THAT day. Who can send cash in minutes that fast to Anyone!!?? They arrived late the day before to unload a large delivery that would even in their own words "would have lasted most of the night" then claimed that the certified check I had given my contractor to give them was to the wrong company. That was the company THEY had told me to make it out for. So now they took it back to Kona and said they?d deliver the next day. So when the stuff did arrive they called and threatened that if I didn?t pay the balance PLUS A $500 fee for re-delivery with a credit card immediately, they would take it all back and charge me for all the storage fees mentioned above and more. Needless to say we are not there to see if there was any damage to our furniture nor possessions and cannot afford to go again for awhile.
This was sheer piracy at it?s best. I will also dispute this with my credit card company if you can?t help me.
Thank you,
Chris Camposano
My neighbors asked me for these guys as reference because they were planing to move one month after us.
I didn't want to give the reference because I didn't finalized the experience but they insisted.
Well my neighbors who are not Angies List users had a nightmare this company which lost five boxes and their move took more than one month. The move was from Phoenix to NY city.
It was embarrassing for me to recommend this company that had very good grades in Angie's List
Actually I'm leaving Angie's list because I don't trust in the recommendations.
This review concerns a move from Hawaii to Iowa, organized by Guardian Logistics, a freight forwarding Co. located in Los Angeles, CA.
ph 800-545-8654

Guardian Logistics sub-contracted the pick-up and transport of my belongings from HI to the Guardian storage areas in LA, and from the Guardian facilities in LA to IA. My problems seem to have been localized with Guardians part in this move, not the sub-contracted movers.

Here is a list of my complaints:

1. Items sat in warehouse for 1 month and 3 weeks before a mover was found to deliver my items to IA.

2. An unacceptable number of my recently deceased wives heirloom dishware were broken.

3. An expensive mountain bicycle was lost.

4. Tools were missing, along with several boxes with contained various memorabilia from travels abroad.

I shopped around -- and went with Guardian as they seemed the most consistent in what they were telling me and were rated quite high on Angies List and I checked with www.movinginsurance.com to see who had the least amount of claims. There are some folks in this industry who are true scam artists. Beware. These folks are not -- although they are no without problems.
I booked my reservation -- and then purchased moving insurance (I highly recommend -- otherwise the movers disclaim all responsibility).
I was flying into OK -- and had to have the furniture picked up within the window I was there. There were challenges with other customers shifting schedules but Guardian made it happen. Ronnie was truck driver who picked up my stuff. He was very friendly and accommodating. Packed our stuff and loaded it. I felt so good about the experience and he had worked so hard to get the stuff packed properly that I tipped him $160.
I had to have the furniture delivered on a weekend -- and fortunately I put that condition in the contract as Guardian did not want to hold up that end of the agreement. Over the summer, three times I was called asking to deliver mid-week. Finally the last time, Raul, manager from San Leandro, spitefully issues me a retroactive invoice for the three months saying that the items were put in storage because I would not take delivery during the week and even though this was part of the contract. I immeidately escalated it -- and was assigned to Sara Lloyd as the person who is supposed to work through the issues. Raul tells her that he had offered me to deliver several times on the weekends and that I refused to accept delievery. Fortunately, I had e-mails where I had followed up with Tom (the sales guy who sold me the contract) again and again asking for delivery -- suggesting at one time that I would have to file a claim for total loss with the insurance company if he didn't respond. He never responded for three months.
Sara did resolve the issue -- and my goods were delivered this last weekend (2 weeks before my insurance was to expire). Yes -- there was damage -- not extensive.
At all times, when interacting with the folks at Guardian, they were polite -- very polite actually. My experience would have been very positive with them if they hadn't tried to stick me with a storage invoice when I was at all times ready to receive the items -- when they were the ones who couldn't/refused to deliver my stuff all summer long on the weekend as I had contracted.
Word to the wise -- get everything in the contract that you want and deal with them guys via e-mail so you have proof of what you agreed to. If you do, you should have a good experience with them.
One additional tip -- beware of all these little acronyms they note next to the items on the paperwork when they pick up the items -- these acronyms actually describe the condition of the property they pick up and with you signing the sheet, you agree to those conditions. This is an out for insurance purposes. Make sure you agree with the conditions they mark down.
One additional tip -- I was in no rush to get the items out to Nor Cal -- but I did note as the required by delivery date as the last day my moving insurance was valid. If I had not, it could well have been delivered after that date.

Guardian Cargo Logistics were very good. This was our 8th move and we have a lot of stuff so their price was good. We like them and we were very surprised because they did it all in one day. My husband and I have been married 21 years and we have 21 years of stuff so they came out, packed up the stuff, loaded it and brought it here. They didn't unpack it because we wanted to unpack it ourselves. They were very good.

My move included furniture and boxes from a one bedroom apartment. It was a local move (about 5 miles). They were able to accommodate me with only a weeks notice. Carlos and his crew arrived as scheduled. They dismantled and wrapped the furniture that needed protection. The move went quickly and without incident. All my belongings arrived damage-free. The move happened all within the estimated cost (plus some packing supplies; some packing supplies were provided free of charge) and time frame.
Overall it went very well. We really liked, Avi, who came to look at our house and price the job. We had interviewed 4 other movers from Angie’s list. One, did the pricing over the phone, which didn’t make sense. We had a huge house - 5 beds/5 baths....moving furniture from a 4,300 sq. ft. house to a 2,800 sq.ft. house, so it took all day. Guardian packed the house on the 10th, put the things on an 18-wheeler and put it all in a storage place overnight. They moved us the following day. This was the only way to do such a huge move, bc they worked ’til after it was dark, both days. While we were given 50 boxes before we moved, what was not explained to us was that the movers were going to pack up our kitchen. I had already done that, so they just pitched in and helped us box and wrap whatever needed to be done. Every one of the men had a great attitude and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The crew the following day was a little different; some of the same men came back and others were added. Another nice group of men. Everyone pitched in and they were all very polite and helpful. They made the move more enjoyable than it was. Moving isn’t for the weak of heart! We would certainly recommend this company and their employees to anyone.
Our move was local, within California but I understand that Hercules performs long distance moves too (from one state to another). The price was fair, even on the lower end. My husband and I were hesitant at first but after this experience that truly acceded our expectations, we would not consider any one but them for our future relocations. Fairly priced, professional, honest and efficient! you can't beat that!!!
I usually do not write reviews, however this time I had to. I heard so many horror stories and was extremely stressed when choosing a moving company for my daughter. I chose Guardian after speaking to Ronnie. He was knowledgeable, positive and always returned my calls. Other than the crew arriving a little late, the move went smooth. The crew was nice and they finished packing my daughters items in about 4 hours. I advised Ronnie that she will be arriving to Hawaii On November 5th and therefore needs her items around that date - the items were delivered to her new home two days ago and she says that so far they are all in good condition. Thank you Ronnie and Guardian.

Guardian Cargo was great from start to finish. Everyone was professional and helpful. The movers showed up early and moved everything quickly. Every item of furniture was wrapped in padded blankets and plastic, totally protected. Fragile pieces such as a large mirror were put into a carton. All the items were listed and numbered on an inventory list which made it very easy to know where each item went when unloading happens. The movers arrived at our apartment in Phoenix on a hot afternoon. The foreman had a smile on his face and was so helpful figuring out how to get large pieces of furniture out a small bedroom...and he made it work. Best of all was the price. I was shocked how inexpensive the move was. Once everything was put on the truck, the next day, I called dispatch, they were very nice and attentive and they were able to give me an status in regards to my shipment, to my furtune my items were dispatched right away so they are on the way to be placed on the first available container. After a couple of days I received a call saying that my items were dispatched again from Long Beach,CA port. I didn't have to wait that long, just a few days until I received the next call saying that my items were ready and waiting to be delivered at my new residence in Maui. The delivery guys were spectacular, they truly have the aloha spirit, they were very careful placing my furniture inside my house, and they even helped me to arrange some of the furniture. I am completely satisfied with the service performed by Guardian. To be my first move ever, this was excellent! Thanks Guardian again.
Great way to begin life in your new home!!. I am so glad that I chose this company. I was amazed by how downright fun my moving day was thanks to the crew from Guardian. These guys are truly the best! They gave me an arrival window of 8-10 am, which, as we all know, for a lot of companies means anywhere between 9:50 and 10:20. To my absolute delight and relief, they pulled up at 8:15 and cheerfully plunged into a what was to be a long day of hard work of them. Watching them work was nothing less than a joy. The foreman, helped my moving-day anxiety by making jokes, all the while working steadily without wasing a moment's time. The entire crew were diligent, efficient, organized, and extremely professional.
As a team, they had it down to both a science and an art. Leor led his crew with a respect towards them that was evident and they responded by following most of his directions before they were even fully expressed. It was truly a pleasure to watch these GENTLEMEN work as they packed and loaded my family's belongings. They indulged my desire to protect my hardwood floors by holding each and every piece of furniture sideways. I stuck 4 to 6 little floor-protecting stickers on them. I believe it took a lot of grace and professionalism on their part not to roll their eyes, sigh impatiently, or otherwise express their impatience, but their professionalism never waivered. I noticed later that a few pieces of furniture I had somehow missed also had the stickers on them, which tells me that the men placed them there on their own. I found that to be the most impressive gesture of all. I wish I could remember the names of all the crew members as I would have loved to give them credit by name. Each and every one of them deserves it, and the company should be very proud of the fine workers they employ. They finally left my new home at 10:00 pm that night, and were as friendly and polite and upbeat as they had been at 8:15 that morning.
I had low expectations for my moving day because I am generally hard to please in most respects, and I couldn't imagine that a moving company would be anything but an aggravation. This crew was a phenomenally wonderful surprise. Yes, they definitely make a huge profit on their packing materials, but they are up front about those prices, and you can easily avoid that expense by doing it yourself, and their labor cost is more than reasonable. They were my least expensive bid out of 5 companies, even with the extra that I paid at the end for packaging supplies.
Speaking about the customer service team, they were phenomenal! They were always calling me to keep me updated in regards to the status of my items. They all have an awesome, positive attitude, which most of the time in moving companies is truly something that customer service representatives don't have, they always answer you as if they hate their jobs badly. But with Guardian, it was totally not the case.

I would use these guys again in a heartbeat and would not hesitate to recommend Guardian to anyone. And did I mention that NOTHING, not paintings, nor china, nor glassware, nor furniture, not even my kids' arts-and-crafts projects were damaged during the move! and it was a move from Arizona to Hawaii!! I was expecting at least an scratch but no, everything came perfecto! What more could one say! This company gets 11 out of 10 stars in my book!
One of my friends referred us to Guardian to use their services, and oh!, I couldn't be any happier , the movers were kind and respectful , worked very hard all the way thru, they packed all of our belonings carefully and professionally. The cost of the move was pretty reasonable. Guardian Cargo did not include any hidden fees and the rate did not change towards the end of the move, so that's very professional of them. It was a great experience overall; I would reccomend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and trusted mover, and most likely I will use them in the future when I move again. Thanks for a fantastic outcome.
The crew showed up on time and started getting to work right away. And if I had any questions they were ready to help me. They handled my things professionally and made sure to not break anything, which made me feel like my stuff was in good hands. They knew how to dissasemble everything, it was great! The crew did a great job packing everything into the trucks, and I really love the work that they did for me. Overall, everything went really great.
Overall the experience was good. I got a quote online, and someone did a follow up call with me a few days later. They helped me work out a moving plan and a price, we set a pick up date; and they came during the window they gave me. The movers were all really nice and helpful, and my things arrived in Honolulu in good condition. Overall, I'm glad I decided to go with Guardian.
