I had a fridge die on me and ordered a new one whose specs in reality did not match those in the advertisement.  The space that I had for my fridge was very small and only the shortest refrigerators fit there because of a cabinet just above the space.  This has been an ongoing problem so I decided to remove the cabinet to prevent this issue in the future.  After calling several handymen that I know (and being told they had no time for the job), I started at the top of the Angie's List providers and got incredibly lucky with Leon Watts and GHS on my first call.  Considering I had my new fridge sitting in the middle of my kitchen floor, this wasn't something that I wanted to live with for an extended period of time. <br /> First, Leon ANSWERED the phone which is incredible in these days of "leave a message and I'll return your call if and when I get around to it" service providers.  When I explained the issue, he asked if I was available (which I was) and was at my house 20 minutes later.  He reviewed what I needed to have done and asked if I wanted to just remove the cabinet or to shorten it, keeping the cabinet but giving me the space I needed for the refrigerator.  He quoted a very fair price so I chose to have the cabinet shortened instead of removed altogether.  He also suggested that we shorten it not just enough for the fridge I had purchased but so that any refrigerators of standard height (which he knew) would fit in the future.  We set a day and time that week for him to do the work on the cabinet.  (We also started talking about what else he could do around my house to make my life easier--those little annoyances that aren't urgent but need attention.) <br /> Leon arrived on time on the designated morning, set up his tools, used protective cover to close off other areas of the house from dust, and went to work.  He shortened the cabinet and cabinet doors, replaced the hinges, and remounted everything within a couple of hours and I was able to move the refrigerator into it's new spot.  He was on time, professional, and personable, in addition to doing great work in a timely fashion. <br /> Because I was so pleased with the product and service with the initial cabinet project, I decided to ask him to work on a railing for an internal staircase for me.  Leon bought the wood, shaped it to match an existing railing, painted it, selected hardware, and installed it.  This was not a time-sensitive project so these steps were taken over a number of weeks.  I am very pleased with the look and feel of the finished product and how much safer it is to use my staircase with the railing.  I have a laundry list of items like this that I will be working on with Leon in the coming months.  He is absolutely great!  Can't say enough nice things about him. <br /> My only regret in wiring this review is that he is so fabulous, I don't want to share him!  :) <br /> <br />

Leon agreed to come by after he had finished his jobs that day to take a look at what needed fixing. He did some adjustments to the doors then came back next day with an assistant to do the bigger jobs. He was prompt and is very polite, knowledgable and personable. He fixed our doors which have been a problem for a long time and cleaned up completely. Our home was built in 1926 and he knows a lot about older homes. He was the only contractor (and there have been many who have worked in our house) who explained to us that the front door and two other doorways are on a load bearing wall and that is why there is so much movement and cracking around them. He offered to give me the details of a company that levels houses to correct this and fix our sloping floors.I will be giving them a call because he seems like an honest man and I trust his recommendations. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again to do other work and bigger jobs. <br />

Leon arrived promptly to give us an estimate.  We hired him that same day to do the work needed on the cupboards that were installed in 1953.  The doors had been painted so many times they were difficult to close.  The hinges were ancient and needed replacement.  Leon removed all the cupboard doors and took them to his work space.  The doors were sanded, wood trim added (per our request to add some detail).  He installed new handles and more modern hinges.  Leon worked on his own schedule which was fine with us since we had so much other work to do on the unit.  When finished he re-installed the doors, tested them all.  We felt his work was excellent. <br />

<p>Leon is punctual, efficient, reliable, personable and very affordable.</p> <p>I have had many experiences with handymen and contractors - Leon is exceptional!  No b.s., very professional - you know that Leon will get the job done and do it right!</p> <p>There are many occasions when I do not have the time to get to specific jobs/projects/repairs around the house - Leon is now my go to guy!</p> <p>I would highly recommend him!</p>

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Leon. I originally reached out to adjust a built in cabinet in my family room. We took care of that project and I enjoyed working with Leon so much that we worked together on many projects in my home: building a mantel, installing and wiring lights and TV's, removing and installing appliances and more. With everything Leon did he was open to suggestion, gave great advice and even advised on some outside projects. He is supremely trustworthy, honest and kind. My home renovations would not have been nearly as smooth without him and I am glad our paths crossed.

The locksmith was timely, quick, didn't try to oversell and when there was a mild tremor a few days later, knocking some of the bolts out of alignment, he set them all straight for $55, which seemed reasonable. After all, it's not his fault there was an earth tremor.  <br />

This was my first foray onto Angie's List after getting burned by two contractors in a row. I got several quotes on this built-in closet and Leon gave the best bid by far. Most important to me was his superior knowledge of the style I was looking for. A built-in closet seems simple enough, but our home was built in 1925, and I wanted the closet to feel authentic. He knew exactly what that would be, and actually told me a history about home construction in Los Angeles. He was the only carpenter to know definitively the standard measurements for closet shelves in every dimension. <br /> Leon was the easiest, friendliest person I have found to work with. Period. He was communicative, prompt, the pinnacle of professional, and someone I would invite over to have lunch with. I absolutely trusted him in my home. <br /> The project was challenging. The house has settled a lot and there was no 90 degree angle in the room. Not easy to install a closet in! Work took longer than planned, and I had to leave for an event while my father stayed on to let Leon out when he was done. When I returned home, I had an email from Leon saying that he had finished, but asked that I inspect the closet before putting clothes in it to make sure it was up to my standard. <br /> I called to thank him, and being the perfectionist that I am, mentioned that one of the closet walls was angled unusually. Leon came the next day, no questions asked, and spent 4 hours fixing it. He also repainted the whole closet, and even gave a fresh coat to the trim that was there before to make sure it matched <br /> I am so grateful I found Leon. He's really incredible. <br />

Installed floor tile in my laundry room, repaired the rotted sub-floor around the toilet.

They telephone call was answered right away. We discussed the plan of action. He was just a little delayed, but he called to let me know and I appreciated that. When he came, he brought materials with him, assessed the situation, and immediatly started working on it. He fixed it in less than an hour, and also fixed a door again that he had done some work on last year. I thought that he was very competent and neat, I have never seen a worker be so clean. The cost was very reasonable. We called him this year because he did a great job.

The man who came out was good. He did a nice job and his pricing was fair. He was a good guy and the service he provided me was very good.

We called Leon Watts in because we are close to retirement and wanted to clean out and organize our garage.Then, we had some plumbing work and we needed Guardian Home Svs. to close the wall. <br /> Finally, our daughter brought us an antique that she wanted to display, and Leon helped design and make the unit happen.

One of the best persons I have ever used for any type of home service.  I will be calling him again for additional carpentry work.  I couldn't have asked for any better person.  Leon's carpentry skills and personality were exceptional

At every point along the way, Leon communicated with us, sent photos of what was found and discussed the overall plan with us. Our bee problem was in fact much worse than we thought it was and are so appreciative of Leon for dealing with it so efficiently. Leon met us at the house as we arrived back from our vacation to show us everything that had been done. The work was amazing, exterior sealing of vents, etc was imperceptible but perfectly done, and there was no trace of repair, replastering, repainting. The problem was just gone! Not a bee since! Given his professionalism and exceptional communication we felt confident in leaving him with full access to our home. Our trust was rewarded with excellent work and we are already planning other projects with Leon.

They showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. They were able to fix everything that I needed them to. I would use them again in the future.

Mr Watts of GHS was present and available at all times. The workmen were competent, very professional and neat.There was minimal disruption to the household occupants.We were always advised regarding the schedule of work in advance.The work was completed on schedule without any additional costs.

One of the latest projects, was a building we acquired that had a complete wall 10 x 175 feet, that had never been finished. Leon discovered the wall during an initial inspection of the property. Leon proceeded to get bids and negotiate with adjacent property owners to get access to the area where work was needed. Mr. Watts was on-site everyday work was performed, he made sure everything was done and the site was left clean at the end of each day. The city was satisfied with the work done and so were we.
