Most of the workers who preformed the job were nice, but that doesn't excuse the quality of the material or response of the company. The salesman, Neil Howard, took measurements and when the windows came in one was too small and My Husband had to build a frame for it to fit. They broke the old windows taking them out and got glass in the garden and backyard next to the house. They said it was all cleaned up but I still found lots. They also installed a window knowing that was a recall by the manufacturer and when I opened it it almost fell closed on my hands. When you have a problem, you have to call the company then they send someone out usually 3 weeks later and if they need a part it's another 3 weeks or more. If you call to check on the order you are told no one told them we need a part. They will order it right away, another 3-6 weeks. They always say that they have new personal but I recognize the the lady's voice (Lynn).  We have had them come back to fix problems because we aren't paying anyone else for their products and they are under warranty. They had to replace another window because they said the frame warped almost  2 years later. Craig was the guy who came out to check the problems and repair them most times. I have documented the entire experience and phone calls. <br /> **Two of my husbands good hammers went missing on the initial install. While assuming no blame, they offered to replace them, but they never did. <br />

.salesperson was David Kellar who was quite professional and easy to work with. he mismeasured one window but rectified it promptly. <br /> installer was Craig, who was not very good. told me he would be on the jobsite whenever his guys were there - but he wasn't. also took a long time to come back and recaulk the subpar work his guys did. <br /> as for the product - they are OK. just your basic vinyl windows. overall, i was pleased enough. would use them again.

The salesman was very nice, and he made sure that everything was done properly.  The installers had had a few problems, but he corrected everything.  I thought their price was excellent, and the quality of their work was very good.

I had an excellent experience with Gulf Coast from beginning to end.  The salesman was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions.  His manager, also, emailed me before and after pictures of jobs previously done, and answered further questions I had. They were very responsive to me anytime I called or emailed them.   I researched other companies and found that Gulf Coast had the best price.   The crew took out and replaced 14 windows in just four hours.  They were very pleasant and professional.  I highly recommend Gulf Coast Door & Windows.  You will get a great price coupled with very high quality...in both service and product!  I am very pleased!

They completed the work within the day and did an excellent job.  In fact, they had to return to touch up the caulking on only one window.  Furthermore, they caulked another window which they hadn't installed, and they left an extra tube of caulk for our personal use.

The pricing was very good. The service eventually did turn out good. The problem was that he gave me a time line of two weeks for those windows to come in. A month later, I did not hear back from that company. Once I got in touch with somebody, we had to change the type of windows and they had to lower the price. Communication was disrupted on their part, and they did not give me satisfying answers. We did get it straightened out. I am satisfied with the end service and the product they delivered. It was not what I initially ordered because they had a problem with the supplier. They did deliver the product at the end. I did not like the way they took out the windows because it brings in so much dust and debris into your home.

They were fabulous! They had good customer service. The salesman did a good job of presenting the option and it was not high pressure. The crew that actually came out to install the windows did a really good job. There were 2 of them and they took out 18 old windows and replaced them within 4 hours. They cleaned up after they were done, as well. They were very pleasant!

Everything was great, both service and product.  I would use this company in the future.

They were really good and the guy who came out was really knowledgeable. They delayed my windows for about two weeks and did not call me to let me know. I had to call them and ask. They have great prices, the windows look great and they all open; the insulation turned out really well. You have to stay on top of them because they are not going to call you to keep you updated. For the price, it is a good deal. I will use them again in the future.

We had all of the 26 windows replaced in our house. I chose Premier Windows/Gulf Coast Windows, Gulf Coast Home Renewal (many different names of company-all the same business we learned) after doing much research and seeing reviews on Angie's List. We spoke to Neil, Mandy and Brian about several issues we had prior to signing the contract (siding, trim, repairing edges, alarm system, blind and furniture removal, etc.) and were assured that all of our issues would be resolved to our satisfaction. We expressed our skepticism about service at our house due to poor contractor service we received in the past and were again reassured that everything would be to our satisfaction. We did get a slight red flag when we realized that Gulf Coast Windows in Kenner, LA is just an outpost of Premier Windows in Mobile, AL (which is where most of the problem lies as we soon found out). <br /> <br /> Neil was the salesman who was very personable and knowledgeable and addressed all of our detailed questions and concerns.  He promised that Brian (their best installer) would be the one to come out and install our windows. Everything was as promised when Brian came to install the windows and he did a wonderful job working 8:00-7:00 without a break. It was amazing that he could complete the job without rushing to meet the deadline. My husband and I were home through the entire process of installation.  Brian left when it began to get dark and said that he would be back the next morning to finish the cleanup and finishing touches. <br /> <br /> After Brian left my husband and I noticed a few issues that occurred during the installation process.  One of Brian's helpers used my ladder that was in the backyard and my broom for sweeping up the mess. One worker asked if he could use my vacuum cleaner because his Shop Vac wasn't working well which I didn't allow him to for fear of breakage. So the debris got swept up and not vacuumed- even on my carpet.  Needless to say, we did cleanup inside. Neil had also informed us that we did not need to remove our blind brackets from the windows but Brian told us otherwise so we rushed to get this done during the installation. <br /> <br /> The problems began the next morning.  My husband and I made arrangements to switch up staying home for Brian to come and finish the job.  Brian doesn't show up at 7:30 as promised so by 9:00 WE CALL the office to see what the problem is.  Mandy said there was a truck breakdown with Brian so she would be sending Craig out. No call from anyone on this. This is a recurring future theme. <br /> <br /> My husband met Craig and showed him the clean up work that needed to be done and all of the numerous chipped paint edges on the windows and a few gouges in the sheetrock as well as the misaligned vinyl pieces on the outside windows. My husband said that Craig was going to Home Depot to get some materials to do the job and would return to complete the tasks. I relieved my husband at this point and spoke to Craig about the issues that my husband had mentioned to him. Craig began to dodge my questions and answered me with vague answers like "you will be happy when we are finished". When I reminded him of what Neil and I discussed and what Neil promised would be done he said that Neil shouldn't have told us that because he doesn't know what the installers do. When I told him that we must have been misinformed by Neil and that we made our decisions on what he promised us, he didn't seem to care and got defensive. <br /> <br /> I waited for Craig to finish the work and when he came to me with the final paperwork and to get the final check, I asked him to go through all of the windows with me as Mandy had told me they would do when they were done. He seemed very frustrated and irritated that I was taking more of his time. When I pointed out the misaligned vinyl edges he said that this was the best he could do and that he could give me a price on replacing it with new pieces! I also pointed out the gouges in the sheetrock (filled with caulk and not sanded) and the numerous chipped paint edges on the windows.  He said that I would have to do some of these things and perhaps some of the spots were there before they came. I assured him they were not and told him that Neil had promised repair and repainting work and Craig said that they had already gone "above and beyond" what they normally do. When I began to question Craig on what Neil promised he got really rude with me and said "we can't paint your entire wall". I wasn't asking him to do that, only what was promised to us!  <br /> <br /> When we were getting to no resolution I called Mandy at the office. I tried to work out the issues with her but of course she is in Alabama and I am in Louisiana with Craig. I was beginning to feel uncomfortable with Craig because he just wanted to argue and not hear what the customer wanted. He spoke to the office and tried to negotiate a discount with me but I was very uncomfortable at this point and asked the crew to leave. I felt like any work Craig would do at that point would be rushed and sloppy. <br /> <br /> We worked out with Mandy that Neil would come back and look at the issues that were pending. He did show up with Brian and we showed him the vinyl, trash left around the house, chipped edges and sloppy caulking in places, loose shutter, broken garden bush, etc. Brian worked to fix the chipped edges, picked up the trash and fixed the loose shutter. The misaligned vinyl pieces were still excused off and caulking left as is. Neil did not apologize for Craig's behavior and we were not shown how to work the windows until I asked. We mentioned all of our concerns to Neil but were given excuses for why things were this way. After we paid, Neil left us with one sheet of paper that looked like a receipt and told us we could go online to register the windows.  I still have not received a warranty after I have asked many times. <br /> <br /> A few days after the installation, our alarm company came to reattach the security wires. All but three windows had wires to be reattached. I called the office to get this resolved and Mandy was no longer answering the phone and Neil was no longer employed there (shocking). I was now voicing my concerns with Lynn who is a relative of the owner I was told. To make a long story short- after NUMEROUS phone calls by me and unreturned phone calls by Lynn, they said that it was the alarm company's fault as to why the wires weren't pulled through the three windows and they were not going to reimburse us for the cost of getting new wires put in. When we asked why Brian didn't tell us about these wires during the installation process while we were home and had the alarm company on standby, we were given many different answers: Craig told us that they were not there (wrong because he didn't install them), Brian told us they were too short to pull through (nope we were home and were told nothing) and Brian said that all the wires were there when he left. So if this last statement was true then we asked Brian to come show us where they were. <br /> <br /> Brian came out and dodged the issue of not telling us on installation day about the three missing wires. He kept telling us that the alarm company can come out and easily drill a hole and pull the wire through the sheetrock. Why does this have to be done at our expense if all was done correctly and communicated with us in the first place? Why were 23 wires of 26 windows fine?  So the final answer was that they were not going to compensate us for their mistake or fix the problem as promised at the start- "to our satisfaction". <br /> <br /> Our biggest issue with this company is the miscommunication and lies the company tells you. I found them on Angie's list. We had a few minor problems and they quickly fixed them. The workers did not cover the furniture and i had to clean that up. The owner paid for someone to come out and clean our home. They cut some wires on accident that went to our security system and they took care of that.

Everything about the job was perfect. The quote was good.

OK overall. Price was good, David Kellar the salesman seemed honest and was easy to work with. Craig ran the install and he was...somewhat less responsive. He wasnt present for most of it; his crew was composed of almost entirely non-english-speaking guys. They did an alright job; caulking was somewhat subpar. They installed one window really poorly, but they did come back after some prompting and made it right. Quality of windows is acceptable for the price, but not exceptional.

Extra rating category that angies list doesn't provide:  Overall frustration with getting the job done correctly F The job started out great, or so it seemed.  They told me it would be really easy, be done in 3 days and they would send their best hardie board siding team.   Well, a crew of 2 guys arrived on time the first day.  They actually told me that day that they never did hardie board siding and this job was much more difficult than they expected.  We also emphasized that we wanted them to save as much as the old siding as possible as it is 100 year old cypress and very valuable.  This is where it went downhill.  The crew started out gently removing the siding, but after an hour or so obviously got tired of that way and started beating it out with a sledgehammer, destroying what was left of quality wood.  This is something that I had specified in the contract that I wanted saved.   They worked for maybe 5 hours that day and told me they would be back the next.  The next day I get home and all their tools are packed up and they had just left with the house wide open on the side and didn't tell anyone anything.  I called the company several times and they realized it was a problem, were clearly baffled and as upset as I was.  They promised they would send a new crew out that same day to remedy the situation. Now, they obviously use subcontractors and they can't really be totally faulted for their subcontractors. I thought the job would go smoothly from there and for the most part it did, until the end.  It ended up taking 8 days instead of the aforementioned 3, but luckily it never rained. They finished up the job and on the walk around I noticed that none of the seams of the hardie board were caulked.  The salesman stated that "that is a job for the painters", he said they caulk around the windows but its the painters job to caulk the seams.  It seems like for a $5,000.00 job, $10.00 of caulk would not be an issue. The next issue was that the windows were framed in and had exposed untreated lumber.  Now there is no doubt you can never have exposed untreated lumber in Louisiana and after some discussion it was replaced.  I don't know why they started with untreated, they are a window company and should know better. Overall, there was obviously little communication from the salesmen to the crew actually doing the job.  They had to wait on extra materials multiple times, they "didn't know they were supposed to save the old siding" and no one even knew when the first crew just packed up and left.  They ended up finishing everything right (except the caulking), but it turned out to be a lot of mental anguish and catching mistakes by me that I shouldn't have to do. Pros:  The price was good Cons: They use subcontractors for their siding, they cut corners that shouldn't be cut, It took them much longer than expected, I had to argue my points several times even after the large initial mistake when they assured me it would all be good, the salesman booked the crew for a job they didn't know how to do.

I was very pleased with my experience with this company. While they may not have been the least expensive of the quotes I received, I decided to go with their estimate because of the professional nature with which the salesperson conducted himself. It was obvious upon meeting him that he was extremely knowledgeable, having been in the business for 10+ years, and believed in his company and the product. The installation team arrived on time and the job was completed within 10 minutes of the installation manager's estimate. Despite the demolition involved, they left my home (inside and out) as clean as they could. I also looked into buying my own windows and paying someone to install them. I decided against that because the warranty offered with my installation covers both the windows AND any problems that might arise because of the installation. I would highly recommended Gulf Coast Windows.

The salesman Neil is great in the products and service that he sells. He promises to inspect the windows when they are completely installed to make sure that we were completely satisfied and that the job was done to perfection. Once we signed on the dotted line and paid him a check we never heard from him again. We had several different installers before the job was finished. They weren't prompt nor did they call to let you know they were going to be late or one time just didn't show up. They are extremely sloppy and messed up some of the trim on the outside of the house. The office staff is nice and tries to be helpful but they aren't the installers.

Excellent. The sales presentation was very professional, and all commitments were honored. The windows were as promised, and the quality is excellent. The Installation was on time, and very professional. They were knowledgeable, and efficient. They finished on time, and completed the job with an excellent clean up. If there is any complaint, it is with the communication for the installation. I had to call back a number of times to get the install date, and the promised time was about 4 hours late. I have not heard from the company since the installation. However, I will highly recommend Gulf Coast Windows to any one needing their services. All other companies (3) that I had contacted were terrible! Most lied about their competition, their products, and their prices. We are very happy that we chose Gulf Coast Windows and their Sales representative, Jessica Casey.
