This was the second time I have used this company and the Gutter Helmet product.  They were punctual and professional on both occasions.  The product is excellent and has never given me any problems.  The installation was quickly done and everything was cleaned up when they were finished.  I highly recommend them.

Called to arrange gutter cleaning.  Receptionist stated that we would receive notice of their arrival a day in advance.  In addition, when asked the receptionist said that it was $75 an hour and that it would take approximately an hour given the size of our house.  We knew it was late in the season but assumed the job would be done in appropriate weather and might take a little time.  We were willing to wait. <br />     Arriving home one day from work on a very snowy day I saw footsteps and leaves scattered all around the house.  I learned from my husband that they had called him to say they were on their way earlier in the day.  I had intended on being home when they arrived as it seems convenient to charge hourly for a service that no one is around to actually observe.  We then received a bill about a month later that noted that due to build up of ice in the gutter the worker was unable to complete the job in one corner of the house.  In addition the job took 2 1/4 hours, considerably over the approximate hour we had been told and long considering when the job hadn't even been completed.  I questioned whether the extra time was due to the level of snow and ice in the gutters. <br />     We called to question a.) why the job was done when clearly there would be ice and snow, b.) why we didn't receive the days notice as we had been told and c.) question the length of time that it had taken.  After a number of phone calls over a couple of months ranging from "The usual receptionist is out so I can't help you" to "I'll have the manager call you" we were told by a receptionist that $75 had been taken off the bill and a new bill had been sent.  <br />     Upon receiving that bill via email we realized that no money had been taken off and the $75 she had spoken of was the deposit we had to put down just for the them to even come out.  It wasn't money taken off, it was money we'd already paid!  I emailed back and again brought up our concerns.   I received a response from the president of the company asking us "what did we expect" and stating that they would NEVER say how long a job was (though they did!) and that they say they will call the day before OR day of (which they never said).  Maybe that is standard procedure but unfortunately the receptionist we spoke to did not relay the correct information.        <br />     He also made some odd mention that usually 2 guys, not 1, come out and it takes two of them them 1 hour therefore it is actually two hours of work.  So I'm still not sure whether they charge $75 per hour or $75 per hour per man.  However, if it is PER MAN they're not clear in their description to customers and if it's not per man and they typically use 2 men per job then we were charged double by only having one employee work on our house. <br />    Unfortunately, this company is unable to accept when their employees give customers incorrect information and have confusing charging policies (One man?  Two men?  Per hour?  Per man?).  The owner attempted to rectify the situation by offering us money off IF we bought product from them and had them do more work on our house.  That clearly isn't happening, and we chose to just pay the bill and move on knowing that we will not be using this company again. <br />

Arrived on- time .They told me that they charge 30 minutes for travel time. I objected. They assessed the gutters and told me I had the "wrong kind" of gutters to give me the new ones promised in the ad.  Gutter People gave me an estimate for hundreds of dollars for new gutters.  I told them that I did not want their services. At that point, they backed off and offered to re-hang a small section of the gutter and seal the leaking seams.  They did the repair. <br />

The coupon I purchased for $100 was for $200 off the service.  The estimate was quite a bit higher than I assumed to have a few leaks in my Yankee gutters sealed but since I had already spent $100 on a coupon to get $200 off I felt "pot committed".  Plus I liked Steve.  He was down to earth, easy to talk to and I walked away feeling pretty good.  In fact, I had him take a look at one of my client's roofs a few blocks over for an estimate (I am a Realtor and I'm always looking for people that I can trust to refer business to).The two employees that were sent to do the work were in no way professional.  Steve had explained that he charges $75 per hour per crew member and my job would require 2 guys (hence the hefty price tag).  The fact was that one of the workers literally slept in the truck while the other guy went up and did the work.  The only time "the sleeper" got out of the truck was help the "main guy" move the ladder.  He would then go back to the truck, put his hoodie up and play with his phone (when he was awake).||After the work was completed I continue to have leaking in the same areas as before.  The sealing was not done correctly.  The only follow up I received from Steve or The Gutter People was their bill.||Furthermore, I never heard back from Steve with an estimate for the work on my clients gutters and chimneys.||Conclusion:  While The Gutter People may do quality work on some properties, they did not do so on mine.  Lack of professionalism, low quality of work and no follow up coupled with a steep price tag means that I will not be using nor recommending them in the future.||If I am contacted and they decide to send someone else out to correct the issue, this posting will be updated accordingly.
Response from GUTTER PEOPLE OF WNY INC
"(removed member address). This is Kevin the owner, we have no Steve that works here. At the time of the inspection I explained to (removed member name) that he had an aluminum liner in his Yankee gutter and his roof was bad. A yankee gutter is designed to have its liner tucked under the roofing. He complained about leaking under the gutter boards, I explained all that could be done is to attempt to seal any seams or splits in the aluminum liner and seal the roofing to liner if we can. I told him he needs a roof. That means he may be getting water leaks before the roof even hits the liner. (removed member name) wanted to seal the liner to try and buy time. That is exactly what is written on the contract. He was quoted a full price to perform the work. He was not quoted an hourly rate. Following the contract is exactly what was done. Justin, the foreman, told (removed member name)his roof was shot and he has curling cracks and nail pops all over it. It disappoints me that (removed member name) didn’t contact me with his complaints first, especially since he never provided a coupon at the time of my inspection. Yet I accepted it when it came time to ask for the balance. I did not quote his neighbor a price because I was never given the neighbors contact info. Since (removed member name) does not own that house it is not my place to give him a price to him. Rich, the worker he complained about, was sick. He helped as much as he could. It did not change the price of our contract either way. I hope this clears up a few things. Call or write with any questions. Respectfully, Kevin Nowak Sr. President"

Over the summer I requested an estimate for gutter installation through tgpwny.com. The person sent out to do this estimate spent about 15 minutes measuring and checking out the property. He wrote up a quick estimate void of any measurements and proceeded to tell me the estimate would be "the today only" price. As any consumer would do I mentioned I would like to get a few more opinions before I made a decision. He again said the price would probably go up if I didn't sign right then and there. He wasn't rude, just very salesman like. I decided to go with this company after all and called to schedule an appointment. I left a message with the number I was given and received a call back a few days later. I was prompted to give a deposit over the phone. I was a bit hesitant but did so anyway and was told I would receive a call in the next few days to schedule a day for the work to be done. A week passed and I received no call, I tried calling back and got a machine left a message and waited, a few days after that I got a call early in the morning from the a crew foreman saying he would be at the property within the hour to do the work. That's all, one hour notice with no appt. I advised the installer I was told I would be able to schedule a specific date and time and that his call took me by surprise. I called the office and was told they dont make appointments and generally just call a day ahead of time. As a homeowner I would prefer to be on site while work is being done but was told this is generally not an option. The method of installation explained to me by the estimator needed to be changed throughout the installation. The installers were only able to utilize one drain pipe and needed to route downspouts straight to my front yard which I didn't want and was told wasn't going to happen. The only prompt communication from the company was attempt to collect final payment, a call which came before I could even get to the property to see the work. I called back and requested an invoice. The about 2 weeks later got another call looking for payment and finally received the invoice today. I would say I wouldn't use TGPWNY again as Im not a fan of businesses where the different branches have no idea what the others can do or are doing <br />

They came and measured one day and assured me they would be back to install the gutter. Sure enough they came back in about two weeks and did the install. The only complaint I have is that they did not schedule the install in advance. They called and said they were on the way and fortunately I was home. Would have been better if I had had advance warning. Small issue and the gutter was installed and looks great. <br />

I called for an estimate and they responded in a timely manner, with good suggestions for the job and a great estimate.  The job was done witin 4 days of the estimate.  The job by the associates was done effieciently and professionally.  Since I already had brown gutters/downspouts the color matched perfectly, it looks like one contiuous gutter.  Very good job. <br />

I called "The Gutter People" for an estimate on some gutter work. Kevin Jr. called us back within minutes of my initial call for a person to come over to give us an estimate on some gutter work.  He was a wonderful young man who was very prompt  and very professional (arrived the next day at the appointed time).   He expertly surveyed the problems and gave us two estimates, one for replacement of the leaky gutters, and one for removing and re-ptiching the old gutters and re-installing them.  Also gave us an estimate on the replacement of the damaged molding on the frame outside the garage door. <br /> <br /> The estimates were very reasonable, much lower than we had expected.  We wanted the work done quickly because our awning was scheduled to be installed and the gutter work needed to be finished beforehand.  Kevin sent his crew out the very next day to accommodate our needs, and the job was done beautifully, and  professionally.  The fellows in the crew were very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. <br /> <br /> We would certainly call The Gutter People again and will certainly refer them to our friends and family.  They are excellent!

The guy who came from Gutter People of WNY Inc. was called Chris and he was too expensive and I talked him down so he brought the price down. They were really quick and I didn't notice they were here. They were good.

Kevin Sr. came out to do the initial estimate and was professional and courteous. He quick wrote an estimate and I hired them on the spot. The price was good and with a couple of discounts, it was within the price I was estimating. They came while I was at work the next week on wednesday and had the work done before I got home. There was a slight dent in one of the gutters from a bend during installation, and when I called to ask if it could be taken care of, they came out within 2 days and completely replaced it for no extra cost. That in itself would make me hire them again. They even took the time to leave a note on my door so I knew the work was complete! I would have not known they were there because they left my property spotless. <br />
