H-Towne Remodelers is a full service remodeling company in Houston, TX. We specialize in all types of remodeling, with expertise in room additions, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, and custom patios and porches. No project is too big or too small! If you're looking for superb Houston remodelers, we've got you covered! We provide free estimates and design work for our customers. Our prices are competitive and we will bend over backwards to make the project a reality for you. As a general contractor, although most of our people are sub-contractors they are real tradesman that have worked with us for many years. Unlike other contracting companies we do not bid out your job to the lowest bidder, we continue to use our same people job after job. This translates into a worry free project for you and us. The owner, J.R Smith is the recipient of two NARI Contractor Of The Year awards while he was contracted out to a well known remodeling company in Houston. These projects competed against many other beautiful projects in the area. Unlike some of the other contractors out there who refuse to break out the job costs on a project, H-Towne Remodelers does not use "smoke and mirrors" with our estimates. We detail the job in full and attach a price to each item. This transparency wins us many bids because we truly put the cards on the table. H-Towne Remodelers has no desire to be the largest remodeling company around. We believe in quality not quantity. Although our business is growing nicely, we are proud to grow the right way, happily putting our name on every job. Many "production" remodelers pride themselves on how many jobs they can blow through, we like to enjoy the process of transforming our clients home with attention to detail. Having said that, we have very little dead time on our jobs, we stay on top of them daily. We normally accomplish around one thousand dollars of production daily on jobs under $30,000. That amount normally increases to closer to $1500.00 per day of production on bigger jobs. During the job we are always reachable, our sales staff have smart phones so they can be reached anytime either through phone calls, emails or text messages. JR and his team are the most professional, dependable, and hardworking individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I reached out to them after a laundry room remodel went horribly wrong at the hands of two previous contractors. Within 24 hours, JR and his crew were at my home, assessed the damage, gave me their honest and expert opinion, and got to work the very next day.
Trust me when I say—they had their work cut out for them. After just three full days, the transformation is nothing short of amazing. I’m genuinely in awe of the results. To say they exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. I might actually enjoy doing laundry now—ha! Highly, highly recommend!

All of the special teams were respectful, detail oriented, and they cleaned up daily. We needed to do some add ons once getting into the project, they were quick to respond and fair in their pricing. I can not even begin to express how amazing this company is. They have come out to work on our patio twice. The 1st time blew our expectations away and we got so many compliments on our finished patio. We asked them to come back out and finish a small section next to the patio and they knocked it out. We have recommended them to multiple friends and will use them in the future for more home projects. Great people and proud to support a company that promotes and helps American Veterans. Highly recommend for any home renovations.

We found J.R. from a friend. We were happy with the experience from start to finish. J.R. And his company were professional and responsive and included eve try thing we asked for. We added on a cabinet to our existing cabinets and they match exactly like we asked for. During demolition they covered the area so the rest of our house didn’t get covered in dust. Overall we were very happy with the experience en are already planning on using them for our next project.

Having heard about H Towne and Around from a couple of Facebook groups, we reached out to JR initially to renovate our garage interior. While they were completing the project we enquired about extensive renovations on the house. This would include removing half of a double staircase, building a second floor office into the entranceway and splitting an existing Jack and Jill bathroom into two new ones. JR was easy to get along with, very pragmatic from the get-go and great at explaining pros & cons of various layouts. He also helped us organize the project into convenient phases, allowing us space to live in while other areas were under construction. JR’s team, which included Chemo, Mitchel & William (and many more) were excellent to work with. All of them were highly skilled, experienced, hard-working and good humored guys. The team were very professional, cleaning up each day and screening off sections of the house so family life could continue somewhat normally. (This Mom of two little ones and a dog sure appreciated that!). It was a joy to watch the craftmanship unfold: bespoke cabinetry, herringbone wood floors, precision tiling, floating vanities, wooden accent walls and new purpose-built spaces created. They took on board all our ideas and gave us the house we dreamed of. Cannot thank you all enough and we would highly recommend anyone to work with HTowne and Around!

A great experience. I HIGHLY recommend H-Towne & Around and I will use them for any future needs that come up. We had a pipe burst with damage to walls, built-ins, flooring, etc. They were able to work with us from the very beginning through the end. Worked tirelessly with the insurance company and ensured we were treated fairly and fully compensated for all our loss. Then they worked with us to do some upgrades drying the repairs. They installed new flooring, drywall, paint, stone fireplace work, new mantles, built in cabinetry in the family room, and ew closet cabinetry as well. Pricing was fair and reasonable. The people were Incredible. Craftsmanship and professionalism is unparalleled. Very up front with costs and set a schedule and stuck to it. Thanks to JR, Danny, and Chema and their crews. Can’t recommend H-Towne enough!

We are so glad our daughter found H-Towne for their home project! We were impressed with the work they did in her house we decided to call JR when we needed a contractor for our kitchen remodel. JR sent Danny to do the estimates the same day we spoke. We really appreciated Daniel's thoroughness and attention to detail. It was even impressive he sent us the estimate just a few hours after he came! JR had Chemo Ramirez and his crew work on our kitchen and we were impressed with them as well from Day 1. Chemo gave a fairly accurate estimate of the amount of time it would take the crew to finish the project. The crew worked hard and fast each day. They were punctual and respectful. Chemo was there everyday to check on things and made sure all tasks were done well and in a timely manner. JR and Chemo were always responsive and communicated well with us throughout the duration of the project. Even when we were out of town, Chemo stayed in touch and gave us updates. Chemo and crew did their best to answer any questions or address any concerns we had. We are so pleased with the quality of the work that was done and we will surely enjoy our kitchen in the years ahead. Many, many thanks to JR, Danny, Chemo, and crew for doing this project for us. Received the quote promptly after the walk through, schedule services and workers were prompt, professional, clean, courteous and detail oriented. Work was completed in the estimated time given. The entire crew was respectful, friendly and efficient. This company and Jose’s team stand behind their work and are always there on time and worked consistently to get the job done on time. They did high quality work and worked with me to make sure all details were perfect. I absolutely love my bathroom, library, master closet and laundry room remodels! Jesus, the custom carpenter, was fabulous. He built out our closet, custom bookshelves in our library and cabinets in our laundry room. All areas are perfect and look beautiful. Sergio and his painting crew were the best. The work they did was flawless! Jose and Jorge did our tile work and other things. I can’t say enough good things about their work, perfection! I highly recommend JR and the entire crew and will use them for future projects. I will recommend them to all family and friends. The work was amazing!

Great experience from start to finish: - reached out to JR after finding his company on Angi. JR responded promptly, arrange for time to visit, was on time and professional and turned a competitive quote within a day or two - once the custom door was ready, his team arrived and worked for two days to remove windows, replace those with a door and redo drywall around the new door. Adjusted fast when encountered an issue with existing frame, but figured it out. The door looks great. They cleaned up during and after work/finish and were super professional. - had an issue with an outdoor plug they installed, JR responded very quickly and had his person come back to adjust on same day. And then had his electrician come and rearrange the rest. Works perfectly now. In short, I would certainly use JR and his team again and would certainly recommend to others. Provides great service, stands behind his work and all at a fair price!

This company is AWESOME!! I took a chance and googled local contractors and this company came up. I called to set up a consultation and JR was on it from day one!! He listened to what I wanted which was to knock down a wall and make my patio are part of my inside living room space!! They did a great job and it turned out better than I expected!!
