Installation went extremely well. Despite a somewhat tricky install, Drew did a great job making the new installation much better than the old one. All my contacts with the company went very well, Tim and Drew are both professional and knowledgeable individuals. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I will use them again for my gas hot water heater.

I was recommended to Hamblen & Bros from Judd & Black when I needed my new dryer installed (had to be converted from gas to propane). They went out of their way to fit me into the schedule as fast as possible. The owner also researched online to find the right conversion kit and made sure it was the correct one before doing any work. When one of the sons showed up (fitting me at the end of the day) he was super nice, professional and obviously very knowledgeable. He got the conversion done quickly and all is working great!

Tim and his son were fantastic. I called him on a Thursday night and he was out first thing Friday morning to replace an old hot water heater that had leaked. Over the weekend I discovered that the new hot water heater was not heating, so I called him on Monday morning to ask him to take a look. He had booked a full day but showed up Monday evening - at the end of a long day of work - to troubleshoot. It turned out that the problem wasn't his fault, rather a peculiarity of my rather old house. Nonetheless he and his son insisted on fixing the problem so the hot water heater worked, all for no charge. I can't recommend this company highly enough. This kind of service is hard to find these days.

I have a gas fireplace that is less than 15 years old. It was working up until last year. Prior to my appointment, Mr. Hamblen told me to send pictures and serial numbers from my fireplace to ensure that they had all the parts they needed. The repair man (Mr.Hamblen's son) was here for more than an hour and couldn't figure out the problem. Eventually he said it was a gasket that he didn't have with him. He said he was going to check at the office to see if they had the part and that if I didn't hear from him that they didn't have the part. Uh, okay? I hired a new repair person from a different company. He was shocked to find that the prior repair person, Mr. Hamblen's son, left everything disconnected which added a ton of labor to his job. I understand if you don't have the part but you should leave the fireplace in the condition in which you found it. Very disappointed in the service. <br />

Excellent. Very responsive. Very helpful & collaborative. Efficient; they know their business and can walk through options over the phone, discuss pricing options, and put together a plan they can execute quickly. Zero back and forth. Zero visits, discussions, consultations, revisits, etc. This was two seperate jobs but each time we talked on the phone for 15 minutes, put together a plan together, scheduled time to get the work done and they made it happen. Our gas fireplace (original to the home in 2001) started having a squealing noise when the blower was turned on. For a while, it only lasted a couple minutes, but then it started happening all the time - making the fireplace unusable! So I researched on YELP, looking for a company that would service fireplace inserts. The first place I called had a ton of great reviews, but they couldn't get out to the house for a MONTH!! Way too long to be without our fireplace!! So next I tried Hamblen & Sons. <br /> Tim Hamblen is the father - and handled my questions over the phone. He is very a chatty guy - lots of humor...maybe a touch more joking than would be ideal - but he was a nice guy. Due to the age of the blower unit, it would be a special order. He provided a rough quote (based on another order he placed recently) of $450 or so and we decided to move forward with the process. He called a week later (or so) and scheduled to come out the next day to install. <br /> The Hamblen son, Drew, was the installer - and was super professional and personable. He was great with my 1 1/2 yr old son watching his every move. He installed the new blower and proceeded to clean the glass (we could never get it clean) and gave me the name of the cleaner he uses (I have since ordered it on Amazon!). He also cleaned and tested the rest of the fireplace to make sure everything else was functioning correctly. <br /> He gave me the final bill and it was under $400!! What a nice surprise!! We were prepared for close to $500 and it actually came to a little over $375 (including tax, etc). He also asked about our water heater as the cost will be going up soon - do to new "features" - and he wanted to make sure if we needed one, we got on it soon to avoid the price increase. <br /> I really liked working with this company and would recommend for sure. We didn't really shop around much - time to be on the phone is hard to come by with little ones running around. But we felt very comfortable paying what we did for the value we get out of our fireplace in not needing to have the entire house heated!! <br /> Thanks, Hamblen & Sons Heating!! We are warm & toasty in our family room! <br />

I originally called Hambeln and Sons around 10:30 am on Friday morning after my tenant said she had no hot water. I explained to Tim my situation and he said he could be there sometime in the late afternoon. He in fact showed-up around 4:30 pm, his son was with him. They inspected the problem and it was determined I should purchase the new water heater since the one I had was 8 years old and causing problems. What they didn't know at that time was extensive remodeling work was being done on the other side of the unit. The plumber who did that work had crossed the water lines (both units used the same hot water heater) and this was the actual cause of the problem. He had left on vacation the day before so I was unable to call or solicit information from him. <br /> Drew went under the crawlspace and determined the problem and came back and told me I did not need a new hot water heater. He made the switch back to the correct plumbing configuration and the water heater performed correctly! I was not charged anything for the service call, nor was I sold a hot water heater I didn't really need. I appreciate their honesty and help in determining the actual problem. You can bet I will call them for any future work! Way to go! <br />

Drew inspected heater, found pilot light defective. A new one was ordered and installed. This company has great integrity, pays attention to detail, and will work to your schedule as much as possible. I will certainly use them again, if needed, and will not hesitate to refer them to someone else. <br />

An outstanding experience from start to finish. I was not only provided a base estimate over the phone but also very detailed pricing for each of the additional parts that could have been required once they actually got on site and an explanation of why they might be needed. They arrived exactly when they said they would, completed the work quickly, and for the original price estimated over the phone. I highly recommend them! <br />

Very good. My water heater had burst and there was water had leaked all over the garage. Hamblen came right out with a new water and replaced it very quickly. It was a stressful situation, so I am very glad they had such a quick response time. Great to work with. <br />

I was very pleased with the work that Tim and Drew did installing our dual fuel range. We were going to attempt to do it ourselves, but ran into some difficulties. I gave them a call on a Monday morning and asked when they could come by and do an estimate for us. As luck would have it, they had a job near us that same day and were able to come in the early afternoon. They started in on the job right after they arrived and were able to come up with a less invasive solution to our problem. While I was talking to Tim, Drew was doing his magic behind the range and before I knew it, everything was hooked up, fit well and worked properly. I am very happy with the installation and thought the fee was very reasonable.

I spoke with Tim Hamblen before I decided to purchase a new gas cooktop. Since we were switching from an electrical cooktop to a gas one, I needed to know what was involved. Based on my estimate of distance from cooktop to furnace, Tim provided me with a cost estimate. Although he wasn't the cheapest (he was in the middle of 3 bids), he provided me with the most detail and information. He told me exactly what parts would be used and what work would be done. He also told me something that I don't recall hearing from any of the appliance sales people, our electrical outlet would need to be switched from 240 volts to 120 volts this would cost anywhere between $150 and $200 (work to be done by an electrician, not Tim). Without this information, I wouldn't have budgeted for it, or worse, I might had my cooktop installed without the proper electrical outlet for it. After I ordered the cooktop, I hired Hamblen and Sons to install the gas line. Tim was able to schedule the work 3 days after my call. His sons, Drew and Matthew, arrived on time and completed the work in less than the estimated time of 4 hours. Both of them were courteous, professional and mindful of my 2 year old. They took the time to answer all my questions and explain their work. I asked them to install a tee for one future fireplace insert; they did that and installed a 2nd one (free of charge) to accommodate a 2nd fireplace insert. In addition, they "upgraded" the system by changing the existing 1/2" line that went to the furnace and water heater to a 3/4" line, which would give me higher available BTUs for the cooktop and future fireplace inserts. I'm happy with the work they did and will recommend them to my friends.
