Don is by far the best contractor with whom we have ever worked. We have a history of bad experiences with other contractors over the years in NH, particularly around communication—not showing up when they say that would, not hearing anything for days, not returning calls, and having the final steps drawn out for extended periods. Don, on the other hand, was very calm, reliable (very important for me), competent and accommodating during the stress of living with construction for several weeks while trying also to maintain COVID isolation. Under these conditions, we could not have asked for a better, more organized or competent contractor. He always followed through, kept us informed when issues arose, and was easy to communicate with, as the project extended for several weeks. Don scheduled his time so that he could focus on our project and get it done according to the plan. He worked with us around delays that were not his fault—at one point we had to quarantine when our grandson was exposed, and twice the granite countertops we ordered were broken delaying the final installation. Although these were not Don’s fault, he went out of his way to minimize the delay when the work would be finalized. Don and his crew were quiet, cleaned up after each day, easy to communicate with and competent. Don also accommodated a couple of small, extra projects that emerged as we saw what the new addition would look like. I cannot recommend Handyman911 high enough. We are already planning to have him back for some other work when we return to NH next summer.

I had Don do the same thing in my other upstairs bathroom two years ago. He did the job by himself. He was as professional and punctual as he was two years ago. Don is very trustworthy and honest. Don's talent is unbelievable. He's still very persnickety about his work. He is a perfectionist and his work shows it. I have recommended Don to my next door neighbor. He gave them an estimate while he was here. They need the same thing done and I hope they choose Don. If I need anything else done, I will be calling Don.

Don and his team did a fantastic job on my full bathroom remodel, as well as putting in a new closet in one of my bedrooms and taking care of various other handyman projects for my place. I found him very easy to work with and very honest. He honors his commitments, and was clear on his schedule. He never placed other jobs in front of mine once work was underway. He is very capable, asking key questions and then using his experience to come up with a good plan of how to implement my requests. Of course, I needed to do my part in providing any needed supplies that were unique to the project (such as tile, bathroom fixtures, etc.). In some cases, I had very specific plans, in which case he listened to me and followed those plans while offering suggestions for improvement. There were a few cases where I wanted changes as the work proceeded, and he was very responsive in making those changes. He is very proud of his work and stands by it. I've attached a few pictures. The first photo shows the closet he built after he removed an old wall-mounted version. The removal of the old version also involved removing very old wallpaper and patching the drywall where needed. As you can see in the picture, it came out beautiful, and he and his team were the ones that installed the wood floor and painted the room. The second photo shows the new bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet that was part of a full bathroom remodel that he did. This was a substantial update since it required a change in the location of the vanity along with the corresponding plumbing and electrical work. He had to build up and move several of the walls, and he created the custom shelves seen in the photo. He also installed the tile floor, put in a new bathroom door, replaced the lights and fan and switches, put in new sheet rock and baseboard trim, and painted the walls and ceiling. Along the way, there were a few surprises and he was able to help me navigate through each of them to achieve results that I am very happy with. The third photo shows the new bathtub and tile that he installed. The tile looks fantastic, and he was careful to insure that studs were placed where the grab bars are located in order to get a solid install. I found Don so easy to work with that I also hired him to do other work around the place, including putting in new ceiling lights, new dimmer switches for those lights, new interior doors, performing various drywall repairs and painting, and several other handyman projects. I would definitely hire him again.

Don was fast, exceptionally clean, and did quality work. There was more rot than expected and he ended up completely rebuilding my porch. It’s beautiful now and super tight and efficient.

I needed the master bath remodeled and completed in a specific time frame. Don made sure everything was taken care of and completed ahead of schedule. Very professional work and attention to detail.

Don and his team did a great job. The scope of work kept changing (some decreases in scope and some increases in scope). Don was a pleasure to work with because he listened to what we wanted to do and assisted us in accomplishing our goals, rather than trying to convince us to either go the most expensive rout or the rout easiest for him. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to outsource projects both large and small.

He communicates very well and clearly what he plans to do, updates along the way, if any issue arise, and gives very helpful and skilled recommendations for solving issues or improving design. Quality of work was exceptional. Very detailed for finish work. He also works very fast and efficiently. He was on time or ahead of schedule for most of the projects. He was on or under budget as well for two large projects which was very impressive. I absolutely will choose Handyman911 first for my next project.

Don completely revamped the bathroom ripping it down to the studs. He kept me abreast of everything that was going on, not matter how small. Don and crew are very meticulous in their work. Never once did they rush the job when I'm sure others would have. The tile work is nothing short of excellent and like I said they were very patient about doing things by the book and not cutting corners. I requested numerous quotes for this project and the quote from Handyman911 was the second cheapest but the most specific of all. Other quotes were double, some triple what Don charged and I can say with certainty that he did a better job than they would had.

I can't give Don and Kevin higher marks. They were both very professional and courteous. I was tired watching them go up and down the stairs all day. Don did an exceptional job laying the new tile. All the seams are perfect. I'm just so shocked how well the bathroom came out. Don is a bit of a perfectionist and it shows in his work. I think the room was cleaner when Don left. I am still in awe every time I go into that bathroom. I will be calling Don for all my projects and you should too!

We had 3 companies bid, chose Don, because he had good reviews, we got a good/truthful feeling from him during the interview and his price was in the middle of the other two quotes. Job started about a week and a half late waiting on the engineering stamp for the new LVL beam. Once started, Don and Eric were prompt each day. Very important is Don will take the time each morning to review what he will be doing that day. Things can move fast, so this quick conversation each morning was very important to us. As with any reno, things don't go as planned and we were able to discuss and make changes where necessary. Don is dedicated to a job, so he does not jump around which is important when you have no kitchen. He would pull in up to two other people some days when there was a lot to do - otherwise it was just Don and Eric each day. Don is very tidy, he cleans up better than probably any other contractor. Some details of the work performed... Kitchen gut, take down non-load bearing wall, build support for load bearing wall, remove that wall, install HUGE LVL, install all cabinets, installed new kitchen window, ripped up old flooring, installed new hardwood flooring to match existing, sheetrock walls/ceiling, textured new ceiling to blend in with old. Renovated a half bath + laundry into two separate rooms (1/2 bath alone, laundry alone). We used his plumber who was good. I liked that he used higher quality materials than I expected - ball valves rather than gate valves. Plumber installed the toilet, vanity sink, laundry water, drain and gas, kitchen sink, water, dishwasher, stove gas and fridge water. We used our own electrician (a personal friend). Don was OK with this as long as he was licensed (which he was). Whereas Don coordinated with the plumber for everything, I was responsible for coordinating everything with my electrician. This caused extra work on my end, but my electrician was able to do the majority of the work over a weekend to keep things moving. Our electrical work turned into a major project and we ended up doing more than expected and a lot of extra/custom stuff. Special lights, specific placements, switches, future wiring runs, fire/co2 and after all this we even ended up installing a completely new main panel and moving some breakers to a sub panel. We had some overages, about $4k. The original quote did not mention who pays for the fees (permit, stamp) so we thought it was included, which it was not. We also wanted more demo performed (down to the studs) which was not clear in the original quote, we added some extra work such as building a closet nook, extra sheet rocking and additional plumbing. In hindsight I would have liked more detail in the quote for my own understanding of the work, the quote is more of a bullet list, but Don was upfront and honest with any overages and changes and we worked through any extra charges or work additions without problem. The $25,500 includes the plumbing, but none of the electrical. Overall, we love our new renovation (kitchen/bath/laundry/floors/window). We would hire Don again and have recommended him to friends looking to do renovations.

Don was always helpful, and I felt from the start that I was speaking with someone who meant to do me well-and he did. From start to finish it was a really great experience. The work involved a basement restoration following a broken water heater pipe/flooding of the basement: rebuilding walls, adding the wanes coating look, painting, electrical, recasing damaged doors, replacing insulation and installing new flooring. His quote was great and did not change (except when I wanted to add something to it). He was always quick to respond to any questions, calls or text messages throughout the project. Part of running a successful company is hiring the right people. Don had an excellent crew, and they were a pleasure to have in my home. They always arrived on time, and the job was completed in a very timely manner, with absolutely beautiful results (see pics). Many homeowners can attest that having construction going on in a home is usually disruptive, but I never felt this way with Don and his crew. Aside from the sounds of tools, I hardly knew they were downstairs; they were always working steadily, staying focused on their work. I work from home and had no issues-it was business as usual. One day, as they were leaving after a long days work, I unexpectedly (to them) showed up with the flooring/subflooring for the job (my choice to provide the flooring). Without a moments hesitation or even a grimace, he offered to unload it all and take it down to the basement, wanting to get it out of my van so it wouldn't be in my way-even though they were literally about to leave, and would be back early the next morning. He's super professional, and yet kindly personable at the same time. Don also shared ways we could lower our costs without diminishing the quality and beauty of the work (ask him about the wanes coating!) Don is an upstanding, excellent contractor I'd recommend to anyone-and already have several times. We're already looking forward to hiring him for our next project.

Don arrived shortly after I called for a estimate. His quote was very reasonable and he was given the job. Don and crew always showed up on time and all worked together as a great team. Added unseen damage was found after bathroom floor was being stripped away and was taken care of immediately by Don. When job was finished my wife and I were thrilled by the results. Don and his crew are exactly what you hope for when hiring anyone to work in your home. He is extremely down to earth, professional, communicative, flexible, punctual, clean, efficient and highly respectful of your space. Not to mention his work is executed beautifully. It's apparent that he is very attentive to each detail and has truly mastered his craft. We truly couldn't be happier! <br /> I almost forgot to mention, the job required 2 days of work because you have to let the adhesive set before grouting. He traveled to our home each day which we found quite impressive. Don has a forever customer in us and we will be calling him soon for ALL of our upcoming projects.
