This is best company I've ever hired. The quality of the work was fantastic. They started and finished the project on time and on budget. The workers and owner are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The price was very reasonable too.

Handyman Matters did a great job of repairing very large hole in finished basement drywall including painting to match existing color. Also installed vanity / sink / light fixture / mirror / baseboard / towel racks in bathroom plus painting the room. Looks great, price was reasonable, and quality of work was very high. The company was very efficient in producing quotes and meeting the promised schedule.
Response from Handyman Matters of Dayton & Cincinnati
"We have no record of work done for [Member name removed] this year. We did a job for her on November 20th, 2014. We installed a new light fixture, re-scured back splash for vanity and hung a large mirror. None of these items are those which [Member name removed] mentioned in her complaint. Wondering if she is possibly confusing us with another company."

They came out for an estimate. They wrote up a contract and that they would start on 7/15/2015. Paul said he had some other projects he was working on so they couldn't start until 7/19/2015. They were unable to help me on that date as well. 7/22-25/2015 was the next time they were to come out for my project. They never arrived on that date either. Total cost of the project is $1998. They charged me me $500 down which I had given them and they have cancelled the work and will not refund me my deposit.

The main drawback was that they did not call me ahead of time to let me know they were on their way. They showed up 45 minutes later than they said they would. The price was okay. They need to call the customer and let them know whats going on before they show up.

The first guy that came late and immediately said he needed to go to Home Depot to buy some supplies. So I paid for him to go shopping, he was gone for over an hour. In the end I paid for caulk, which I found out he shouldn't have used, nails, saw blades (he said he would go through a lot of them), and a pull bar (he said it was a one time use and not too expensive, it cost me $11.98 plus a mark-up they take). I never heard of repair people not having these supplies with them when they come ready to put a floor in. The supplies were about $29 and they charged me $40. The first guy was also going to take all the supplies with him, even though I was paying for them. I asked for the nails and pull bar. Again, since I was paying for them, they are mine. He had them in his car already. There were a lot of problems with the floor when he was done, he just kept saying that laminate isn't perfect. There were pieces of the laminate sticking up, and gaps end to end, as well as the doorway areas poorly done. The next day I called and told the owners all the things wrong with the floor, they told me the guy working on my floor had some issues, and that he seemed to not have his head in his work lately. First of all, you don't send someone that is having problems like that to do a floor that needs all that measuring, cutting and fitting. That was a bad choice, and except for one time, I had to consistently call the company back because they weren't calling me. The second guy was much better and seemed to know what he was doing, he agreed with me that there were a lot of problems with the way the floor was put in and that that employee was not longer with the company. They were going to redo the whole floor, but decided that only doing half of the floor would work. The initial floor was put in on April 6, they didn't get back to fix the floor until April 28. I understand that there was a medical issue present that made it difficult to get someone out sooner. There was still a problem with a raised up piece of flooring and a broken threshold piece, so they came back, not until May 26, I had to call them. It was all finally fixed by June 1, almost two months later. I talked to the owner and asked if he could give me some money back since it was all such a problem, as well as the fact that the first guy shouldn't have charged me for the saw blades or the pull bar. He sent me a check for the money for the pull bar and one hour worth of labor, could have been better. They were always polite on the phone and always apologized for the problems, but I needed to call them too much when they should have been calling me. All in all I think they were unprofessional and made some bad decisions. I would not use them again. Make sure they are not charging you for supplies that you should not have to pay for.
It went very well. It went great. The serviceman's name was Erick. He was knowledgeable, professional and he did a great so I'm very happy. It was expensive but he did a good job and he was nice and everything. I think the pricing is very high. He was late but that was okay.

"(removed member name) was aware of our rates before we started the job. This was a rental property and unfortunately there was a miscommunication between our office and (removed member name) as we were instructed to call him if the door needed replaced rather than repaired, which it didn't. The receptionist in our office who spoke with (removed member name) has been with us for 10 years and in that time, we have never had a complaint about her being rude. We value our customers and are very sorry his experience was a negative one."

Jason replaced a kitchen faucet. The old faucet was difficult to remove because of some rust, and contrary to what I first thought, it was not just loose, it had broken off at the handle. Jason did a good job with this and installed a new faucet without any issues. He also put back the cover of a bathroom fan that had given me some trouble.

Jim replaced the water supply line to my dishwasher, which had apparently developed a small leak. This leak was discovered while a new floor was installed earlier in the week. I was very concerned to get the issue fixed quickly and correctly. Jim identified the problem immediately and replaced the necessary parts with his usual expertise, for which I am very grateful. He also replaced (2) water filter cartridges in my basement.

I continue to have good experiences with Handyman Matters of Dayton and will use them again.

The first worker was unable to solder the new faucets and left a leak. The second worker spent 7 hours re-doing the previous work but left the faucets with low flow and unstable in the wall.
