The work was done perfectly and very efficiently. The pricing was also competitive to other highly recommended shops, so I felt as though I was getting a good deal. I am looking forward to working with them on future projects!

I had a small leak in the area of the chimney inside my house after my roof was replaced. My roofer said it was the chimney cap and showed me pictures he also filled the hole with caulk until I could get fixed. Called Handyman Matters. Bob came out and without getting on the roof and seeing the actual problem gave me a price. His worker replaced the chimney cap and in the process drilled 3 holes in on the flat surface of the chimney. When it rained the leak inside now was worse. Called roofer back now think it was the roof. He took pictures to show me the 3 holes Handyman Matters had drilled and left. Contacted Bob and tried to have him adjust the bill which had been paid. We felt that we would pay for materials and they should refund the labor as now we were going to have to have interior fix due to the 3 holes his worker drill. No response from them. "[Member Name Removed], It appears you did not see the email I sent to your husband on 5/20/19. When I stopped by to discuss the issue with [Member Name Removed], he requested that we replace the bottom portion of the chimney cap which is in fact called a chimney chase cover. See my note below. [Member Name Removed], It appears that terminology might be part of our miscommunication. Please see the link below. [Information Removed] The actual base or cover for the chimney is called a chimney chase cover and they are much more expensive than the cap because they appear to be custom made. I still cannot find a place locally that has them in stock ready to go. I have only been able to locate custom ordering services on line. With that said, we could come out to measure the chimney for you at the top. If you could order / purchase the chimney chase cover, then we could install it for you at no additional cost. Would that work for you? [Member Name Removed], when I left your house after speaking with [Member Name Removed], I told him I would look for the item that he wanted replaced. I could not find anything locally, so I sent the note above. I have not heard back from him or you. I am offering to provide the labor to replace the chimney chase cover at no cost to you. However, since you originally didn't request that, and my quote was not to replace the chimney chase cover, I do not feel I should be expected to purchase it. As noted above, they are very expensive. By the way, I never got a communication from you to adjust the labor cost or any other request. In addition, there was already interior damage from the earlier rains before we did any work. We were not asked to make any repairs to that, so that is irrelevant to this issue. The labor we provided was for work that we quoted and completed. You are now asking for additional work to be done which should be at additional cost. Again, I offered to provide the labor at no charge. If you would like for us to do anything more at this time, just give us a call. Bob Zeffery President Handyman Matters Lewisville"

Working with Handyman Matters of Lewisville was a joy start to finish. Jheri in their office was great with scheduling and very communicative, Bob came out and gave me a quote and he was timely and professional. But the superstar of the team was Tony who came and did the install. He went and picked the door up for me from Lowe's because I didn't have a truck, waded through the red tape to pick up a door he didn't pay for, and then returned the door for me when they gave me the wrong one! Then he went above and beyond on the painting and installing new locks for me! I wish I could give these guys an A++++!

The job was done on time, professionally, plus Tony called me to verify what I needed him to do. Also, Jerry, in the office, is awesome! I have used handy matters of Louisville two times in two weeks and I’ve already scheduled him for another project. They are early/on time and Very respectful and professional. I have already given their information to two or three of my coworkers.

Application of texture on the bath ceiling and walls was an "A" but for the kitchen it was a "B". Same grades for the ceiling painting. Contractor had to return to our house to repaint the kitchen ceiling to get uniform paint coverage (meaning had to mask off all other surfaces in the kitchen. Final result for the kitchen is probably a "B+"; I would not give an "A" grade overall for a job requiring a call-back.
Response from Handyman Matters of Lewisville
"[Member Name Removed], yes the ceiling paint in the kitchen was not right. My craftsman said he had difficulty seeing the spots he missed in the afternoon when he was painting. The lighting was not very bright. Obviously it was much more visible in the morning after it dried. That is why we offer a 1 year warranty on our workmanship to make sure it gets done right. I needed to have a hole patched in the ceiling, some drywall repairs, and painting done. They were very thorough with the tasks and even pointed out the paint choices we made might not look very good for an accent wall. The estimate was easy and we just picked a date. The work itself was done in a day in a half and was completed above satisfaction. Would definitely use them for other miscellaneous tasks again.

Excellent experience overall, and tremendous result. Always get the feeling Bob and Tony wanted to make sure the job was done right from start to finish, including proactively improving the areas you can't see, and that the final product was built to last. Felt like they were working on their own homes. Professional and quality group all around. As always, a few unforeseeable things pop up once the walls/floors are ripped out but were resolved quickly and efficiently due to Tony's know-how. A few hiccups coordinating the plumbing work and only suggestion I would recommend is improving the work details between third parties and your crew, or perhaps presenting the option to have your team (Jheri - also excellent) coordinate third party customer needs such as plumbers. Overall I look forward to using Bob and Tony again for future projects and will absolutely recommend them to friends and family for remodeling work. Thanks for doing a terrific job on the most outdated spot in our home...it looks absolutely outstanding.

Great! Bob came out and assessed the job. He assured us the job was doable. The day the work was done, Bob and his contractor, Bob, showed up right on time. We reviewed the job before work began. We are very pleased with the job done and would definitely call for any future household projects. And, we did receive an Angie's List discount.
