Their work was meticulously done. Bob Hansen was very responsive. I’d definitely use them again.

Bob is an excellent contractor, He did lots of interior (bathrooms, kitchens, plumbing, electric, etc) and exterior work (porches, fences, decks, etc) at my two rental properties and mine own house as well. There is not a thing that Bob cannot fix. He responded to me always on time, job was always well done and the price was very reasonable. He has never disappointed me. As a landlord I have always knew that I can count on Bob anytime it does not matter how big was the job. Big five stars!!!

Bob and his team are reliable, friendly, and hard working. They get the job done and well. Bob is always available to answer questions and they are flexible when you change your mind about color or add on additional work. This is our second year using Hansen Brothers and we continue to be happy with their work.

Bob and his crew are courteous, punctual and stay on budget. Most notably, Bob, Eric and the team at Hansen Brothers found ingenious solutions to the dilemmas which confronted them because they took the time to be thoughtful in crafting a plan. They perform and complete a job the old fashioned way. I found them to be honest and highly responsive. I plan to continue to work with them.

Excellent job- guys are very knowledgeable in all aspects of heating/air conditioning, as well as what it takes to install new ductwork without ruining my apartment. Would recommend them highly.

It took three days. The workmen were respectful of our landscaping and left the yard and driveway clean. The roof looks good again@!

They did an excellent job! The clean up was wonderful and they hauled everything away. They also painted my garage to match my siding and it matched perfectly. I would highly recommend them to others.

All services were executed with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail. If something was not up to Bob's standards the team would happily return to make the appropriate improvements. Hansen Bros did a beautiful and wonderful job. Very professional, very clean (they protected the plants, sidewalk and bricks all around the job.) Great communication about when they would be showing up (as weather for an outside job can make a big difference)...and they showed up on time, performed outstanding work and their pricing for the whole job was very fair and reasonable. They even washed the windows on the outside. I will definitely be hiring them again for any paint work I need done. I highly recommend Hansen Bros.!

We contacted Hansen Brothers on the recommendation of our roofers to install the electrical outlet for a roof heat cable and to discuss our front steps project. Until this point, it was difficult to get anyone to accept the front steps project. Masonry contractors would not handle cement and cement contractors would not handle masonry. We needed a general contractor to help and Hansen Brothers came highly recommended. Bob Hansen sent his son over to check on the electrical outlet needs and Bob came to assess the front steps project. He listened to my requests and introduced us to a metal worker who would fabricate the new handrails. We made a railing selection and then we discussed the timing to complete the project. In the interim, Bob's son Eric installed the roof power outlet and back door sconce satisfactorily. We started the big project of the steps replacement mid-September and it took several weeks to complete, there was much to coordinate to get this project done properly. Bob was in constant communication about the progress. We had a bit of a slow down waiting for the cement contractor to deliver the concrete, but once that happened, everything else came together. The final electrical pieces and masonry work were completed shortly after the steps were done.  Everything turned out beautifully!  Bob's experience and familiarity with Chicago homes was evident. He gave sound advice and provided some excellent suggestions with our projects. Our neighbors have also commented on how well things turned out. I would indeed contract with Hansen Brothers again for my home projects and will recommend Bob Hansen to my family and friends. I feel we have finally found a trusted general contractor who is responsive who takes pride in his work. <br />

Everything went as Bob said, even better. Because he thought they would for sure be done Tuesday Or Wednesday, "for sure" he  said . Well they finished ahead of plans and there was no extra's as in (this costs extra money). <br /> My sister came and saw his work and I have given her his number, she is wanting a new kitchen. <br />

I was referred to Bob Hansen for a chimney repair in January 2015, and he has since become my go-to contractor for a variety of projects. His prices have always been fair and he is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. The workers he hires have always been courteous and friendly, and they do good work. Bob, especially, has excellent quality control and I feel very confident when he is on the job site. Occasionally he can get backed up with workload and his response time can suffer, but the times I have needed a quick turnaround, he has responded efficiently. It's hard to find a trustworthy contractor, and Bob is honest and reliable. We have been very satisfied with all the work the Hansen Brothers have completed and will continue to use them in the future. <br />

The job went great.  It was completed quickly, on time and at less than budget.  My front porch on the "old grey lady greystone" now looks great - the old girl has had a face lift.  Most importantly, I have new gutters that actually function around the porch. <br /> My husband and I own the two-flat we live in, and a three-flat I inherited that has been in my family for generations.  Both are old, aging and need a lot of work.  I first met Bob in May of 2014 when I had an urgent need for a critical back porch repair I needed at our "inherited" property.  I called him, explained the need, and he came and made the repairs right away and at a very fair price.  Ever since then, Hansen Brothers have been my "go to" for both buildings.  In the last year and a half, he's made major repairs to the back porches of both places, installed new back porch windows to an enclosed porch, installed a new garage roof, repaired a leaky closet pipe in the basement and fixed my greystone's front porch gutters and overhang. <br /> Bob always finds a way to get the job done, especially when it comes to quirky old buildings. He knows how to do the work and make it look aesthetically pleasing - not an easy feat when it comes to aging buildings. He gets it done efficiently at more than fair pricing. <br /> My husband and I are at a point where we physically can't do much on our own, and having found Bob Hansen has been a godsend to us.  He is honest and always ethical, and his pricing is more than fair.  We trust him implicitly. <br />

Went well, they fixed broken lines in the concrete floor, took out all the cabinets in the kitchen,tore up old flooring and carpets, replaced cabinets, laid Pergo throughout the house, and recut and hung all doors and trim to fit... Painted all, and hooked everthing back up!... Would highly recommend Bob and his crew!  Plus they're pleasant to work with... (That always helps) <br />

This work was done on the back exterior stairwell of a 3 flat and was paid for with special assessments out of our HOA. Our initial experience with Bob Hansen was great. He was prompt, provided a great quote, started the job quickly and completed it in a few days. Everything went well and even touch ups were taken care of. <br /> However, the rust on our stairwell has returned on every section the company worked on. The rust began to reappear within a few months and worsened throughout the year. Currently, the stairs and landing look just as bad as they did prior to the work being done. <br /> Bob told us that he guarantees his work for 2 years. I have been trying to get in touch with Bob multiple times since we are still within that 2 year window. I initially emailed him on May 24th. No response. I emailed him again on June 22nd, followed by phone calls on the 22nd/24th/26th/29th. I got in touch with the office on the 29th, and was told that he would get in touch with me. By July 6th, I still had not heard from him. I emailed him that day informing him how disappointed/frustrated I am and let him know that at this point, I feel my only course of action is to write this review. He finally responded on the 6th with this: <br /> "HELLO JONATHAN JUST RETURNED MOMENTS AGO FROM ATLANTA, BEEN AWAY 10 DAYS. I would like to repeat that we were initially happy with his work, but he has failed to even return simple phone calls/emails ever since. Seems his priority is merely on new customers, not keeping happy customers. We are very frustrated. <br /> <br /> <br /> <strong><br /> Addendum:<br /> Company came out on 7/24/15, re-sanded and painted the back stairwell. Looks good currently.</strong>

I like them. I trust them. They are my go-to contractor for everything with my home. It saved me from having to get a new furnace. My husband passed away. The plumber cleaned out my pond and setup the filtration system. It’s not something a plumber would normally do, but I was losing all my fish and I called him and I said, “Eric, I know you said you built a pond for your mom, can you help me?” And for whole day, 9:00 to 4:30, and only charged me $170. I can’t say enough about them. The furnace thing, I was in Mexico and my house sitter called me and said that the furnace wasn’t working and he called another heating company to take a look on the furnace and they said I needed a new furnace, so I got that Sunday night and I was supposed to called them 8 o’clock in the morning on Monday and I called Eric. Eric came over an hour later and he said, “oh! the ground wire is not connected.” He connected it and my furnace started. They are top-notch people.

They are local.  They routed our pipes a few times and it  wasn't working.  They are good but our problem was beyond the scope that they deal with.  They don't have a camera and we needed someone with a camera to scope the drain.
