Gunnar did a fantastic job with the remodel of our stairs and entry. He gave us exactly what we asked for and worked within a tight deadline to ensure we could move into our new home on time. The result is beautiful and made a dramatic difference to our home.

We contracted with Hanson Home Works to replace our multi-level wooden deck with Trex. Gunnar worked with us to identify our choice of color and style of decking. The end result turned out exactlly like we wanted. The crew worked straight through until the project was finished, even in poor weather. They communicated well, were courteous and fixed several other issues on our home that were not part of the original project. We're very happy with the outcome. His bid was one of the lowest we received, and the total cost came in under that estimate.

I thought it went well but after a few months the deck started coming apart. For example Gunnar had to come and put in large bolts/screws to keep one of the deck corners from coming apart, some of the wood that was used was splitting, and a few other items needed to be fixed. He came and fixed those issues. Later on the floor joists started to twist and bend and the deck floor was not straight and vertical. Due to these concerns I hired an engineer to come and look at my deck. He told me it was not built to code and that it was not attached to my house properly along with other construction issues. I now have to have the deck re-built to code. I hired Gunnar because he was a licensed General Contractor through the State of Utah and on Angi's list he had high ratings with deck builds so I felt comfortable hiring him. I am very disappointed that I am left with a deck that has major issues and has to be re-built.

Gunnar reached out and came back punctually. He communicated that he mistakenly forgot to return which is understandable when someone is very busy. He did everything he could to rectify all issues I had. I am grateful.

Could not find anyone that would work on this window without wanting to put a new one in. I contacted Hanson Home Works explained the problem that it has been leaking for years and every time someone comes out, they just add caulk. I sent a few photos over and he said he would do the job and gave me an estimate. They arrived on time day of job and went right to work. They removed all the caulk that was doing no good, pulled the siding off down to the window and reinstalled a wrap and flashing and reinstalled the siding. Very impressed with their work and so far no leaks.

Mr. Hanson was able to work us into his busy schedule a couple of weeks early (for which we were very grateful due to the change in weather coming). The stairs and railings look amazing! We've gotten compliments from our neighbors.

After viewing several bids for the job, we decided to go with the one from Gunnar, and were very pleased with the results. His bid was fair, and included excellent materials. During the process, he always responded timely to our questions. Once he started the job, he and his crew were respectful of our property, and quickly completed the project within the timeframe promised. As such, we have recommended Gunnar and his business to several of our friends, and would recommend him to anyone on Angie’s List accordingly.

The job was completed in an afternoon with very high quality work. Also the owner and his staff were timely, courteous and professional. I’d highly recommend their skills to anyone needing a good carpenter / handyman.
