the installers were polite, however not very good at "finishing". The areas around the base of the railing and hallway were raggedy along with Cutouts for the air condition floor vents were ragged and 2 of the 3 vents were dented during installation so that made it hard to put back in the vent covers, we had to hammer them back in. Had my handrail up the rail painted 3 weeks before the install and had a hard time bringing in a 15' piece of carpet it so it rubbed off some of the paint on my handrail.

It was basically good although I never felt it was finished. They were very nice, on time and all of these good things, but there was a fault in the carpet that they installed. It was a woven imperfection. Nobody saw it until later it was totally installed. So, he gave me a choice whether I wanted a further discount or I wanted them to come right back and put a whole new carpet in. I told them I would take the discount so that is how it ended. I did not write a review because I did not want it to sound bad for them because it was totally an innocent mistake and they did make good on it. They were on time, pleasant and honest. They were supposed to send me another invoice because the size of the room was bigger than the deal was covering, but they never did send me another invoice. Because of that imperfection in the carpet he did not even send me another invoice. He went out of his way to bring few carpet samples to my house. I was not even home and he left them here. So that was really nice. Even though there was a problem they were very willing to fix it.

To help a friend while she went on a cruise, I volunteered to care for her dog, Daisy. A more appropriate name would be Daisy the Destroyer.

Each day of her ten-day stay, Daisy visited another malady on my house; the last whereby she chewed a section of the rug. I was concerned that no carpet repair store would want a job this small. And, though I had never used the Merchant before, I called and left a voicemail to explain the damage.

Steve Patton returned my call within 30 minutes and said he would stop by the next day to examine the damage. Fortunately, I had a small carpet remnant that Steve could use and we made an appointment for Steve to return on Monday to do the repairs. It only took 45 minutes for Steve to switch out the rug sections, and I could not be happier or more pleased!! There are NO seams or other tell-tale signs that would indicate where the damage had been.

I am so grateful and would highly recommend this Merchant!

Dissatisfied with Installation owner assured us he would come back with the contractors and supervise Re-Work, The owner told us to tag the floor with all areas of concern which we did the floors were littered with post-its, and messages as to what needed to be fixed and they would fix it when they came back, I also asked asked the owner if I could trust him to check under our furniture for the same type of issues and he said yes:
The re-work was done, and much to our amazement the owner called us downstairs to see where we wanted the furniture to be placed. I immediatley looked down and see a gouge in the wood at the bottom of the stairs that we had tagged and not fixed. I said your not done are you? He didn't answer which confirmed that he thought he was finished. Then I went into the dining room and pointed out another area, then into the kitchen where we needed many planks re-installed due to many reasons but the major reason was because they did not mix up the patterns which resulted in a patchy UGLY look. I asked why the work had not been done and he said "Do you know how long that would take?" (during our first meeting he said they could just pop them up and replace them) he said they had already spent an extra 12-13 hours and replaced atleast 18 planks. He also said that the wood had manufacturer defects, and I told him he had better contact the manufacturer. He finally said he would order two more boxes of wood and call us when they arrived.

When they left we took a closer look at the supervised re-work: we found that where the planks had been lifted they must have also lifted the cement and did not add cement to those areas...and the end result is a wavey unattractive installation in the dining room walk way and at the left front area of the fireplace. The trim they installaed around the slate of our fireplace was not big enough to cover the glue that was left from the previous trim that they removed. The trim is not level and the carpentry at the one corner is shoddy and scratched. We found a lot of wood putty in two different shades masking the defects that they created.

We waited for the call from the owner regarding delivery of the new wood, when we didnt hear from the owner based on how long it took the first time, we contacted the owner to see when the wood was coming and added that we needed to see him prior to any more re-work, I told him we had concerns. He immediately replied with "What concerns?" I listed some and told him he had to come over to see the issues himself prior to scheduling the re-work. I never received a reply this was on Friday night. My husband contacted him on Sunday, and did not receive a response. Then my husband re-contacted him and finally heard from him saying he was waiting for the wood to be delivered. The owner contacted us on Tuesday saying that the wood was coming in on Monday, and he wanted to schedule the re-work for next Thursday as he was booked for the rest of the week. We informed him that before any additional work was done, we still needed to discuss the issues we had with the project. Every time that me or my husband bring up any concerns, he becomes unresponsive. Again we told him he had to come to the house prior to any more work being done, he finally said he could come on Wednesday at 12:00 because his nights were busy so we had to leave our jobs during the day to meet his busy schedule.
The issues we have include the quality of the work, the new floors look old and worn due to gaps filled with wood putty and gauges scatches in the wood. There are even two planks we found that have split wood! During the first installation they damaged my kitchen wall, but I must say they fixed during the re-work. They damaged my dining room table but did also patched this. They damaged the wood frame at the bottom of our entry closet which remains damaged The areas that were damaged were discovered by us the contractors did not even tell us! A total disrespect to our home! After the clean-up of initial install the bathroom floor had cement all over the tile and walls and sink! It is evident when looking at the kitchen, entry and dining room that they were hurrying to finish. They were sawing the wood floors in my living room. They didn't use drop clothes, saw dust was everywhere this was done directly in front of me!!

We re-tagged the floor for our Wednesday 12 noon meeting, and when the owner came he said "you have got to be kidding me, there are more tags now than when we were here the last time! The owner walked around the house said "theres no pleasing you people!" "This is a beautifual floor!" We showed pointed out a couple of the areas including the fireplace trim and shoddy craftsmanship. The owner had the nerve to say that the border around the fireplace was not like it was when he left! We showed him the two identical dent marks directly in from of the refridgerator (approx 3 foot long) and he said it wasnt there previously! (Note: we showed him this the previous time he was at our house "supervising the re-work". He said he already replaced 100 planks (this changed from the last visit when he said they must have replaced 18 planks) This is when we knew that we had a big problem because he does not stand behind his work. He does not care if the customer is not happy and he was making up stories!. He is the total opposite of what he advertises on his website! He asked "What do you want me to do?" We told him that we want a refund and he said "A refund! I cant do that!" He said he would hire a inspector and we told him to go ahead! (We already had a independent contractor over who confirmed that the installation was very BAD at least). He stormed out of the house and said "you can keep my money" He was huffing and puffing all the way to his vehicle, As he got in the vehickle he looked back and laughed. We invited a third party to the meeting who witnessed the entire meeting.
Poorly Installer was unreliable. Seams in carpet were placed in high traffic areas and opened up within weeks following installation. Carpet adhesive was not cleaned up on walls/baseboard following installation and desk was damaged during installation without compensation or admit to guilt. Replacement carpet was arranged several months later with same problem of bad seam location with seam failure. Second installer was professional and much better than with initial installation. Now, nearly a year later with no remedy-extremely frustrated and in need of new carpet.
I like everything about from the time they came to introduce themselves to the time that they put my product in; It's carpeting and it's inexpensive compared to others.

I found them on Craig's List and after getting high estimates from Home Depot decided to see if they could give me something more within my budget especially since the room was not used very often. Steve came out the next day and brought over some samples. We immediately found the quality to be much better than that of the corporate store, never mind the good customer service and commitment to beat their price. He confirmed we could get the carpet and pad installed for about $150 less than Home Depot and a lot faster too. Within a few days, a technician came and installed the carpet. It looked beautiful and was far nicer than we ever hoped for with our budget restraints.
