Working with Steve was an overall amazing experience. He has restored our faith in contractors in the Philly area. He communicated clearly and timely by text messaging from start to finish, so we always knew the status of our job. We had the unique problem of matching the new living room floor as closely as possible with an older bedroom floor. Steve listened to our concerns and researched what materials were available. He gave us a quote for the materials and labor and a schedule for the job from start to finish. And he stuck to his costs and times. The work he and his helper did laying the floor was outstanding. At the end of each day, we examined the work together and made specific requests for handling details pertaining to the job going forward. Steve's finest quality is his unflappable positive attitude. When we waivered on decisions and came up with new requests in the middle of the job, his response was always positive, encouraging, and understanding. There was never an annoyed look or a negative comment ... even though, at times, our obsession with detail might have deserved such a response. We love our new floor more and more each day. The entire house looks new - because of the refinished floors!! The process was totally professional, and set up so no dust would get anywhere else. All the areas scratched by the furniture and pets are so beautiful now!! The clean-up was wonderful as well. If you need a professional to sand and refinish your hardwood floors, call this company!!

Went great! Steve Naccari responded promptly when wife called for quote. Assessed the situation and sent quote. Scheduled job 10 or 14 days later Arrived on schedule. Completed repair with prefinished wood tiles, which required no sanding, in one day. Very satisfied.

Floors were stripped and restored with a natural finish. It looks like new floors were installed. We love the work. We knew two other people that had their floors done by Steve . They really did beautiful work. Cleaned up as they went, and of course they wore masks .

Steve did an amazing job in installing new flooring in our dinning room and refinishing the remainder of the ground floor. He did a great job in matching the color of the new and old floor. We've used him twice and we would highly recommend his work.

I can't say enough about Steve's professionalism, knowledge and fair pricing. He was on time, gave a fair estimate, and diagnosed why the floor had buckled in the first place while he was doing the job. In the end, the cost was even less then he had estimated. Really honest!! Steve's work was professionally done and we can't even tell that the floor ever had buckled. i would highly recommend and hire him again.

Steve was professional, punctual, and reasonably priced! He was knowledgeable about what type of wood was used and was able to give recommendations for the best finish to apply once the floors were sanded. Steve informed me of what was going to be completed each day and had me walk through at each step of the process to ensure I didn’t have any questions or concerns. He took care in covering up spaces to ensure little mess as possible. Overall I am thrilled with the result! Would highly recommend.

Steve was great! Each day he asked if I had any questions and explained what he was going to do that day. He was very efficient. Our 1960s wood floors look brand new. I have received compliments from everyone who has walked in my door...including kids. I highly recommend him!

Was great working with Steve, He was polite, on time, had clear and fair pricing, and did great work installing our hardwood. Site was cleaned including garage where cutting was taking place. Will be hiring again for our other room.

Steve was awesome to work with. He immediately saw all of the mistakes made by the previous contractor, and told us how he would fix them. He lived up to his word, and our floors turned out beautifully. We will have him do the other part of our house next year.

Steve was amazing to work with! He was very patient with my husband and I as this was our first experience with refinishing floors. Steve came out within a week of being contacted and took a look at our space. He gave us a detailed quote the same day. We decided to save some money by pulling up all the carpeting and padding ourselves and removed all the staples. But what we found under those carpets wasn't pretty as there were a lot of patching that was going to be needed. We asked Steve to come out and take another look at our floors and he assured us he could make them beautiful again which he did! We ended up going with a custom stain color and he mixed us up some extra so we could stain our basement stairs to match the floors. All in all we were in great hands with Steve and his Crew! Highly recommend this company.

We had our floors previously refinished by another company that used a water-based sealant. It was as if there wasn’t anything protecting the wood. Our cat went through some stress when our other cat passed away and he stopped using the litter box. As a result, we had some damaged floor boards from cat urine. There was also a spot behind the toilet where the plumbing valve leaked. Hardwood Floor Restoration came in and fixed all the issues. They also sanded and resealed the floor with an oil-based sealant. They even came back and resanded/finished the spot behind the toilet after we were able to get a plumber to fix it. Now the floor has a richer color (still natural) and has more resistance to spills! I’m very pleased with how the floor turned out. I will definitely use HFR again when we’re ready to refinish the floors in another part of the house.

The visit for Estimate went very well

Just bought a 1949 cape cod which had original pine flooring throughout buried beneath ANCIENT carpet padding glue, more recent carpet padding, carpet, and a ton of carpet tacks. We had two walls removed that required patching the leftover gaps with flooring from the closet. Also needed two badly cracked stair treads fixed. Steve did a great service at a great price. He sanded and refinished the hardwood throughout (which were not in good shape), patched the wall gaps to where you couldn't tell they were ever patched, and fixed the stairs remarkably well. Everything turned out amazing. We expected a major difference but couldn't have imagined just how new, clean, and beautiful they look. Even the contractor we hired for the walls was extremely impressed. The first two photos I included show the state prior to sanding.

We were not satisfied, although we had a unique situation. We only wanted two rooms floors done, my wife is pregnant and we were in a rush. Here's why we were unhappy: 1) The floors in the bedrooms came out slightly darker and redder than the floors in the hallway and rest of house. We did ask that the floors match in advance and he said he should be able to match. After all was done, he said that our existing finish was water based poly whereas he had used oil based. Not sure how difficult it is for a professional to distinguish that upfront. I really like the look of our existing floors, and disappointed that the new finish is noticeably different. The finish will last 20-25 years, so we are stuck with it. 2) Oil based poly we learned emits more VOCs than water based and can take up to a month to cure whereas water based takes two days. We were away from the house for a week and are now in the second week and can still smell the floors upstairs, which makes my wife very upset since she is pregnant. We wished we had done more research in advance. When we asked the vendor to redo the floors with us paying part of the cost, he said said that he only does oil based, which makes me wonder if he knew about the water based and still did oil based because he is adamant about it being more durable. But that didn't work for our current situation. 3) Not sure what measures they took to control the dust from sanding, but we have have a film of sanding dust that we have to clean up in a bedroom across the hall where we had moved all of our furniture. We had the door to this room closed prior to the vendor moving a piece of furniture into the room that was too heavy for my wife and I to move, it seems they must have left the door open while sanding the other rooms. I know another vendor who was willing to put up plastic and assist with moving furniture for free and their quote was $100 more. 4) He didn't show up on the Monday morning we had arranged for work to start. When we contacted him he said that his truck had broken down the prior Friday and that he had intended to send us an email to inform us but it did not send. We were surprised he wouldn't have tried to confirm a date change. Like most people we wanted to be out of the house so we had rented a hotel and cottage. By the time we learned that he wasn't going to show up we could not cancel. He was not very apologetic. To his credit he did get alternative transportation and came at 3pm on Monday but it took some talking.

Work was completed in a professional manner. While we were not in the house for the work do to the dust, we where kept informed as to the progress and encourage to inspect to work.

Steve is a professional, and clearly knows the job. He works his butt off to get things done, too. Came out after hours to offer a quote, and started at 7a to get us done around other jobs. He's informed, he's punctual, and unlike the 5 other people I called for a quote, he answers the phone. I would definitely use again, and will send others his way.

I recommend this company very highly. We used them because we heard excellent things about their work from our realtor and a neighbor. They did a great job! They were professional and communicated well throughout the job on how the process worked and what the next steps would look like. They were able to match exactly the stain color to the two other rooms' floors that had been refinished ten years earlier. They had excellent follow-up to make sure we were pleased. They really knew their flooring!
