Based on reviews I reached out and they were very quick to set up a time and have Alec DuBois come out for evaluation and quote. The price reasonable and recommendations made sense. Dig down about 1 - 2 feet to evaluate the base and then re-pave. Emailed him after wards to move ahead with project, and nothing. Multiple emails and calls to his number, nothing. Finally called main number and after a couple of calls, connected with him and gave me a small discount for my troubles. scheduled time for the crew to come out, dig out the spot, evaluate and then come back another time to re-pave. few days prior, get a call that it can be done all at once, so I thought great. Day of arrival, nothing. called main number and said still on the schedule. end of the day, call and office not sure why they were no show. Called the next day, again not sure what happened and re-scheduled. Day before second date, get call to confirm and asking if I want to pay for the whole bill before the job is even started?? Day of arrival, crew comes and gets started. My wife reviews with them that we think there may have been an animal that boroughed beneath the driveway and attempted to show the entrance whole. Crew not interested. They did not dig down the 1 - 2 feet initially discussed and repaved over the same base essentially. Afterwards, they had left a pile of stone dust behind that filled about 2/3 of a five gallon bucket. left empty water bottles and scrap 2x4 in front of our neighbors yard where their equipment was which I had to clean up. Overall, customer service was not very customer focused. Guess will have to see how the work itself will hold up. Will definitely not be using again in the future.

1. Delays The half of the total order was paid a year ago and they were not able to schedule the works at that time. This year the work was started in the beginning of May, but they did not work for several weeks, just came for a day, then did not show up for a week, for various reasons. Once we were told that they have other important site to work with. 2. Broken electrical wire and still not fixed. Our letter in May: I am really frustrated with how things are going on. The electrical wire is not fixed yet. I cannot use outside lights because they were turned off completely in order to keep it safe. The workers keep cementing the cobblestone and it will block the access to the rest of the wire, later it will not be possible to fix it without ruining the flower bed. I do not need to get into the details, but I really need the lights to be restored ASAP. I have my father, the older person, living with me and it is very dangerous to walk outside without the lights. So it is the first priority to restore the lights. I was patient, understanding that you have some issues with the schedule, but it is turning into an exasperating issue. They promised they fix the issue for no expense for us. But it's been more than two months, and still nothing is done. The damage is critical for us. Switching on the outdoor lights results in a short circuit and no lights in half of the house, and it can cause an electrical shock to anyone walking in the yard. 3. Overpricing The initial price was fair, about $24/ft for 288 ft of cobblestone border. But when we asked for additional 60 ft, they gave us a bill for $6,200, which is more than $103/ft. After several back and forth communications finally we got the first itemized order: Additional 8 tons of blue stone base Additional 2 yards of concrete After complains about measurements, they changed it to: Additional 6 tons of blue stone base - $750 Additional 1 yards of concrete - $225 6 tons for 60ft of border??? It was still $4,600 total. We asked 4 different companies for an estimate, they all quoted under $1,500 for the same job. 4. Ruined lawn First, the team started to remove 1.5 - 2 feet of the grass and the flower beds along of entire edge without notifying us, cutting our flowers with heavy machinery. When we asked them to stop doing that, they pretended that they understood, but then cut the lawn later on another day. Now they are going charge us for the additional asphalt. 5. Unleveled cobblestone The importance of leveling the cobblestone border with the asphalt is due to plowing the snow in winter; nevertheless, some parts of the border are higher than the rest of it. 6. Cigarette butts are everywhere. In spite of the ashtray that was provided and the workers kindly asked to use it, we constantly picked up the butts after they left the property. We have all the communication history and pictures. Our driveway still remains unpaved after paying $8,000 in advance a year ago.

It was excellent. I found them to be reliable, professional, and great communication. There were issues with weather related events but they were proactive with communication and followed up immediately and professionally. The work was very well done. My primary concern was the foundation below the paving, which was more than adequate. All in all I highly recommend the company. The owner was pleasant to work with. The employees were very positive and professional.

Hatch did a great job. 4000 sq ft. circular dirt driveway and they did a great job. I also had an existing drain that was repaired and it works amazing. The owner Jared Hatch was onsite all day. They did a great job! Price was more than reasonable. I would recommend Hatch Asphalt Managment for your residential or business needs.

Awful: The facts: 1 I hired Jared Hatch to repave driveway and install basketball net. 2 I paid Hatch $9550, including $8900 for driveway and $650 for net installation. 3 During installation, Hatch ran out of mix. Second load of mix brought same day was either not the same mix or not the same temperature, resulting in a visible seam. 4 Lower half of driveway did not settle properly. 5 Numerous imperfections throughout the driveway: new asphalt pitches toward the garage resulting in leaking; new asphalt shows stretching cracks; lower driveway has pebbles of asphalt coming loose. 6 Basketball net was never installed. Hatch poured concrete, but claims he never intended to install net. As a result, concrete poured needs to be jackhammered, as installation requires base of net to be anchored into concrete. 7 Hatch has not returned any phone calls since my check was cashed. 8 On 11/5/18, Hatch agreed (over email) to visit work site. Upon viewing the asphalt, Defendants acknowledged problems, stating “I wouldn't want my driveway to look like this." Nonetheless, he does not return phone communications and refuses to refund. 9 I will need to pay >$9000 to redo the driveway and $>1000 to jackhammer the concrete and install the net. 10 Don't make the same mistake I made. Find someone else.

Jared Hatch made promises he did not keep. I had to keep calling and emailing for a status of the schedule. Most attempts to contact Jared were ignored. When I told Jared I wanted to cancel and get my deposit back, he wanted me to agree for him to tear up my driveway this year and pave it in the Spring - I said NO. [*** Link removed ***] website is down, the Uxbridge office is vacated. No work was done on my property. He still has my deposit of $ 9,000 which he promised to return today. Untrustworthy, does not stand behind his work or his word. Admitted he did a poor job but refused to come back and re-do it. Grading was bad and material used was too soft. Ended up taking the matter to small claims court. I won! He was unresponsive, never returned phone calls and never came to repair his bad work. In the end his ways will catch up with him.

We hired Hatch Landscaping for a significant overhaul of our front yard. The plan was to remove older and overgrown shrubs, create new flower beds and plant new shrubbery. Prior to digging we informed Jared that we had a well but did not know where it was located. We recommended that he be cautious so that our well system wasn't damaged. After the first day of using excavators to remove the old shrubs I took a picture of the front yard. The picture showed an orange construction cone in our front yard which at the time did not seem unordinary. Three days later we discovered that we had no water pressure in the house. The showers, toilets, sinks, etc were not functioning. We discovered that the orange cone in the front yard was sitting on top of our damaged well cap. It took Jared two weeks to admit that he damaged the well cap while on the excavator. Instead of replacing the well cap he continued to work around the exposed well and thereby deposited dirt, debris and large portions of a juniper bush into our well. There was so much debris in the well that a camera inserted by a well repairman could not get to the bottom of the muddy, sludge-filled water. That afternoon we weren't quite aware yet of the scope of the damage that had been done so Hatch continued working on the project. I heard three successive loud bangs and an immediate loss of electrical power in the house. I went outside and couldn't believe what I was looking at it: a Hatch employee on an excavator had dug up our underground utilities and ripped our electrical line off the side of the house. Not only did my house lose power but the entire neighborhood lost power as well. The worker on the excavator said "I wasn't near the red flags that Dig Safe marked". True, he wasn't. But he was near the orange flags that are used to mark for underground electrical lines. Not only did the worker cause significant damage but he was operating an excavator without knowing the Dig Safe flag colors. Furthermore, Hatch is required by Dig Safe to stake white flags to show their planned area of digging, a task they did not do and is a Dig Safe violation. After the electrical line was struck, the workers abruptly left my house. I was the one that had to report the incident to Dig Safe and NSTAR. After this incident we suspended all work with Hatch.
Jared came to our house to discuss the damages. He refused to accept responsibility for hitting the well even though he was the one operating the excavator when it was damaged and he knowingly damaged it because he covered it with the orange cone. He also insisted that the Dig Safe flags were labeled incorrectly (which they weren't) and that his workers exercised caution even though they were digging less than five feet from our electric meter with heavy machinery, a fourth Dig Safe violation. When we asked Jared for his insurance information he conveniently couldn't remember the name of the company. Despite being the owner of the company he claimed he didn?t have access to the office to obtain the information. We were able to find his insurance information on Google and filed a claim with them. Jared made two unwanted visits to our house so we subsequently gave him a "No Trespass" order.
As the weeks progressed we discovered the true damage to the well. Because Jared didn't tell us he hit our well we unknowingly went three days using our utilities. During that time the dirt and shrub debris were drawn into the house and clogged our well pump, boiler and radon system. We had dirt in every pipe of our house. Our shower water and drinking water were affected and there was significant buildup of dirt in the toilet tanks.
It took three days to have our electrical line repaired and restore power to the house. We spent the nights at a family member?s house and returned after a few unseasonably cold November days to a 46 degree temperature in our house. The hardwood floors were damaged from the freezer thawing out and all of our food was lost.
Ultimately our well pump, filtration system and water tank had to be replaced. Our radon system was repaired but the boiler had to be replaced after continued episodes of not producing hot water. After months of negotiating with Hatch's insurance company and countless appointments with various contractors to repair the damage we finally settled. Despite having hundreds of pictures proving and detailing all of the damages it was a very difficult process. In the end, we were awarded over $13,000 for the damages caused by Hatch, an amount that was still far less than what we had to pay.
Our experience with Jared Hatch and his company was costly, extremely unprofessional and incompetent. His business practices at our house were reckless and jeopardized my family?s safety and as well as the safety of his workers. It?s alarming how he responded once the damage occurred and he even stated ?I was on the excavator when the well cap was hit but I am not taking responsibility?. I am not writing this review to be retaliatory but rather to inform other consumers of the true Hatch. I wish I could have read a review similar to mine before we hired them. My recommendation to you is that you seek out
one of the many qualified professionals in the area in order to have a project that is completed safely and without risk to you.
I got them through Angie's List. They came out and seal coated and I was very upset. I tried to call them, and cannot get them, and then they sent out a man who tried to fix the problem, and he said that they had to fire the other people. I would give this man who came afterwards a better grade.

It's a pleasure to deal with an organization that does what they say they will do and when they said they'll do it. This company did all of that, and worked well with our landscaper and mason, who all showed up on the same day. An amazing army of hard workers, trucks, and machinery.
I've been in this house for 40 years, and I'm sure that this driveway will be looking great for many years to come.
They were very nice and professional. We got an Angie's List deal in the fall but it was too late in the season to do the work, so it was postponed to the spring. They did call promptly in the spring, but I kept forgetting to call back. I finally did, and they immediately set up a time to come and do the estimate. They told us they'd call to set up the sealcoating, which took some time. They finally did call and we set up a date, but they didn't come. They explained that it was out of concern that it might rain (it didn't). They set up another time, and didn't show up then, either. My husband called to see why they hadn't shown up and was told there was internal confusion (they thought the work had been done). So another time was set up, and again they didn't show up. My husband called again and they finally came and did the work. When it was finally done, the quality appears to be good. Most likely, they had more work than they could handle and were juggling multiple clients. I would have been happier if they'd just been honest about that than getting the run-around.
They first sent out their salesman to measure the size of driveway and give me an estimate on the additional amount of feet to be seal coated. I was told by the salesman that they would do the work the next week. They did not show, so I called and they came the following week. We are not happy with the job. We have used Weston Sealcoating in the past, but chose Hatch because of the big deal. It was not worth it! We had to call them back to fix areas where they left globs of tar and footprints. We have two big figure eights on our driveway. Although the company was very professional and very responsive to our concerns, overall I would not use them again.
Response from Hatch Asphalt Management
"Mrs. [removed member name], We apologize for any issues that may have occurred during the sealcoating process. However, when our salesman went back out to the property to discuss the issues, it was brought to the salesmans attention about the foot prints in the driveway. It was agreed upon by Mr. [removed member name] that the foot prints were caused by your landscaper and that we were willing to fix the landscapers foot prints free of charge. When our salesman went out there, there were also no visible signs of a figure-eight design on the driveway. Once again we apologize for any issues that occurred."
