HBF Concrete & Masonry

Had a driveway and curb installed. Curb broke within a few months. Christy Neff, the owner, took several weeks to get back to me. Hasn't returned my call since asking to fix it. It's supposed to be covered under the warranty. Poor communication skills. Poor workmanship. Buyer beware!

I hired her In September of 2021 and it has been a nightmare ever since- I was fit in between other jobs so there wasn’t really a set day or time they were going to come and do some work/ finish the job. I purchased all the blocks/ caps and she told me that they will take care of the cement. Thinking there company name is HBF Concrete and another company name of theirs is Unique masonry they would have the machines to do the job not hire a 3rd party. In my contract it states they will fill with topsoil and also finish the steps with block and they have not. I paid her with checks in full for all work done at my property. Now 6months from now the concrete company Silhol is coming after me for the $1,885.43 for what she owes them for materials. They sent me a letter that they will put a lien on my house if this is not paid in full to them. I don’t know of this company, never signed a contract with them, I never hired them. My contractor did all of that and it’s very unprofessional of them to not take care of this matter. When you hire a contractor your supposed to sit back and just watch the transformation of your project and not have it become a living nightmare. Christy Neff needs to pay the other party for her hiring them in the first place when I didn’t even know she didn’t have machines to do the job. I am going to post on the BBB also until this matter is resolved I will find other platforms to share my story until she pays her bill to them.

HBF were excellent. They replaced my deteriorating front walk with a MUCH nicer sidewalk and they poured an excellent foundation for me to build a shed on. I'll definitely reach out to them for any future concrete work.

Christy and her team did a fantastic job on a rehab project I am working on. Even though their schedule was jam packed, she squeezed me in since I was on a deadline to get the house on the market. Her crew was extremely professional and courteous, and we are very pleased with the new steps! A+ See the before & after pics below :)

Quote was 3 week late. Work was supposed to start September 27th but they couldn't get equipment, started September 28th. They have been back 2 additional times since then. 3 days in total. NO COMMUNICATION after many attempts. Block laid facing wrong way, no mortar in between 5 or 6 blocks, giant holes from original porch, mess left in yard for weeks.

We met their salesperson in December and discussed various projects. She was very friendly and sounded reasonable (the typical salesperson personality though). Her and her husband own the company I believe. She offered to resurface our tiny front porch (less than 80 sq ft) since we had a leak going thru it to the garage. We accepted her offer and told her that we were in no rush to have the work done in this cold weather and would prefer to wait until it warms up a little. She insisted that they could get the work done by heating up the area. After declining their offer to do it in the cold climate a few times, she finally talked me into it (typical salesperson technique again). They did our porch in a temperature below 20 degrees. When they used the plastic over the porch to protect it from water, they took our pickets off the railing and used them to nail the plastic together (instead of using their own wood) and used tape to hold the plastic to our exterior brick. At the end of the night, they turned on their heater and said it should run for a few days and they would make sure it does. Then they did the finish on our porch even though some water got thru the plastic and the concrete was still wet. Later, on the night of the project, the heater turned off after a few hours since it ran out of gas. I mentioned it to them and they said they would turn it back on. The heater was never turned back on since. 4 or 5 days passed before they came back to remove the plastic and put back our pickets. Our pickets were slightly damaged, our painted brick was slightly damaged, and there were undesirable water stains in our concrete since the water still got thru the plastic. Within a few days later, the concrete already cracked in multiple spots and the leak returned. They told us they would come back and fix everything, but they never did. We reached out to them probably 6 or 7 times in the past 4-5 months and still nothing. We have never had any issues with contractors in the past and this is the 1st time we are writing a review about a contractor. Be very wary when hiring this contractor as I hope they have not conned or cheated any other customers. Always write a review if so as it can protect other potential customers from going thru the same/similar situation. When going back and reading some of the other really nice reviews, I noticed how there were 3 reviews in 1 day. It is very rare for 3 customers to write a review on the exact same day so I wouldn't exactly believe some of these reviews are real. That should've been a red flag for us at the start. We highly recommend you use a different contractor for any masonry work.

Excellent, professional service done in a timely matter. I had my concrete for my current parking pad done, then added a retaining wall and another parking pad. Absolutely, beautiful! I have already recommended Christy and her team to others!

Went great! Christy informed me about colored concrete which was really cool and made the basement floor really "pop"! Recommended other trades as needed too! Worked with my everchanging schedule and showed up on the day we eventually pinned down. She even looked out for me when my floor drain was disconnected! Highly recommend for great service, trust, fair pricing, and their extensive knowledge on their trade!

Christy Neff, the project manager and company owner could teach a master class in customer service. She anticipated our needs, helped us out quickly when another contractor disappeared, and kept us informed at every step. I highly recommend HBF. They know how to treat a customer right.

Went extremely well, had them pour a sidewalk, couple steps and side patio, did an excellent job with the edging and finishing of the concrete

Fantastic! I was very impressed with the professionalism of everyone and my walkway far exceeded my expectations in every way - "running" steps were perfectly spaced and what a huge improvement to my property - curb appeal is much improved!
