HC Heating & Cooling

After 22 years of service via Hood & Canal Heating & Cooling of a heat pump on our roof, technician arrived without a ladder. He ("Ken") was apologetic and offered a 15% discount to reschedule. He told me that HC Heating bought Hood Canal Heating & Cooling and that this is a now a new corporate company retaining none of the records of its predecessor. Rescheduling involved several phone calls. Once service was completed, HC denied honoring the 15% discount and tacked on a $20 "difficult roof ascent" charge. Ken denied ever having offered the discount (???). Multiple phone calls into HC Heating to resolve this including two disconnects by the receptionist. Tanya in accounting only escalated my call to Chuck Davis, her boss, after repeated requests. Chuck Davis would not make the situation right without ownership approval. Exhausted at the effort and appaleed at the outright lie, I paid my bill and moved on. If someone is going to lie about something as simple as this, I don't want them in my house doing work. Beware and try another service provider. This is not the same company that is used to be.

I have owned this home for 2 months and my furnace/heat pump has worked less than half of that time. I contacted this company because there inspection sticker was on the furnace from before I purchased this home. When the technician first came out on 2 Nov, for the second time the furnace quite working, I was informed a few days later that the needed part would take 3 weeks to arrive. I was scheduled for 27 Nov late afternoon. I made sure to call the week before to confirm the appointment and the day of at 3:30PM. I was told the technician was at the job before me in Bremerton and would be on the way soon. When 8PM came without a visit or a phone call it was apparent that I was "Blown-off". This was the night before Thanksgiving in a cold house. Thank you for nothing.

It took a while, but the installer was thorough.

It was excellent. Everything they've done was top notch at all. Excellent service.

The job was done efficiently and quickly. They do the job in a timely manner. The pricing is the best.

We will call on them for our heating and AC needs from now on.

They were just responsive when we had a need, we had a problem they were responsive, they came out and took care of it promptly.

The parts team found the motor and had it express-shipped, and the technician made the repairs at the appointed time. We'd definitely use them again.

Wonderfully, just as promised. We consulted a number of heating/ac providers in the Kitsap area for the installation of A/C in our home. We knew from the beginning this might be a little more involved than homes we have owned in the past since our current home is a combination of a small 1934 two story with a walkout basement (bedrooms on the second floor) and a 1970's addition of a larger open family/dining/kitchen space connected to the first floor. We tried to do our research to understand the pros and cons of adding to our central heating furnace which was from the early 1980's or installing separate ductless systems. We met with Greg Rich who was willing to discuss all our options and provided his own feedback of the pros and cons of each system. My husband is a geophysicist and loves talking the numbers, understanding all the details and asking lots of questions. Greg was patient, communicated well, understood the numbers and answered all our questions. Installation began on time was neat and clean and completed as promised. Our system has now been in place for over two months and we have gone through some hot summer days which in the past meant for uncomfortable evenings and too warm overnight bedrooms. The new systems are working well. We chose to replace our furnace and add on an A/C unit for the original home and also purchased a ductless system for the newer space. This was not our least expensive option but we kept our fingers crossed it would do what we were promised. Each system cool their respective spaces quickly with the ductless being silent, which we truly appreciate. We are very happy with our choice. This is the first year our home has been truly comfortable in the almost 3 years we have lived here. We can easily and happily recommend Hood Canal Heating and Cooling for all your heating and cooling needs.

So I get bad allergies during the summer time...  I've put up with it for the last 3 years..  Usually starts with runny nose, which then leads to Bronchitis.  I'm usually out and down for the count for a month recovering...  This year I decided that enough is enough..  I had HCHC, install the heatpump, and they installed the system in my house before.  So I decided to give them a call.  I got quoted, and decided that the price point was decent for what I was getting, and decided to move forward. <br> <br>They collected 6000 dollars from me, rest was due on receipt.  They were here on time, and got everything the same day..  they showed me how to use the new system, which was helpful.  Over all a GREAT experience, and very knowledgeable guys.  <br> <br>Thanks again HCHC! <br>

He did a thorough job on the furnace inspection and removed a filter that wasn't needed. The heat pump was a different story and the main reason we called them. There was a noise that the heat pump shouldn't be making and he said that the pressure was low and there was a leak somewhere. He couldn't guaranty that fixing the leak would solve the problem and suggested that we replace the heat pump. We got two more opinions and both said that the noise was normal for low pressure in the line and fixing the leak should solve the problem. I just don't think he was as up front as he should be by pressing to replace rather than fix. <br />

Overall the service appeared to be successful. However, he did not have the filters on hand to replace them, and I had to use one of my own. He wanted to be very efficient and insure that the cooling of the air conditioners were getting to each room of the house, which then meant that he went to the rooms to check the temperature. This has never been done before from any other technician, and it was felt that it wasn't necessary. <br />

They were a little bit cheaper than everyone around me. They actually installed my system to begin with when I built my house so they knew what it was and knew exactly how to fix it. They were very quick. I was impressed with the timeline and how fast they fixed it.

They installed the system 13 years ago. They were the only one's I've ever called back. They have always done a really good job.
