Back in 2006, Hearth and Home installed a gas insert into my wood burning fireplace. Their work was superb. Over the years, they serviced my gas insert every other year (cleaning). In 2017, I decided to redo the look of the fireplace. I contacted Hearth and Home. The staff was excellent throughout the entire process. I had some ideas, but they helped those ideas become a reality. The gentleman in the showroom helped me with the materials and look of the fireplace and provided and estimate. Then someone came to my home to ensure that what was being requested was feasible. While at my home he mentioned a couple of ways some situations could be done. I was thankful for his expertise. We were able to eliminate an electrical cord that had been used to power the blower on the fireplace. They also eliminated a big price of the insert which allows the stone of the fireplace to shine through. The gentleman arrived on time each day and cleaned up before they left each day. I am thrilled with the results. I can recommend Hearth and Home without hesitation.

Peter was excellent and in general I highly recommend this company. They have been very informative and responsive from the first day I contacted them. I'm impressed by how organized they are and the info they keep on file for clients. Peter called to see if he could come early which I was happy about. He was efficient and through, and took time to explain how my fireplace works as well as answer my questions. He was very nice and I felt comfortable working with him. On a side note I appreciated that he took off his shoes- I'm sure it's a hassle but the snow and slush make a mess! He also laid a drop cloth in the work area which I really appreciated. I find this company is respectful of their customers and doesn't overlook the small details. I highly recommend and I'll be using this company again.

The stove was installed on September 16, 2016 and has been used to heat the 11' x 13' foot space as well as the kitchen and bedroom it adjoins nearly every day since the weather turned colder. It has performed flawlessly and has helped transform the otherwise useless back porch into the preferred place to be in the home when the mercury drops. Sub-zero temperatures are easily dealt with when this stove cranks up and starts belting out the heat with the optional blower. The Greensmart remote effectively monitors the temperature in the room and adjusts the flame level to keep the temperature exactly where you set it. The installation went smoothly except for one disappointing event I will explain in the space below. Both Jim P. and Oskar D. arrived on time and carefully laid out the parts to the stove on the lawn behind the porch. Both men worked silently, each appearing to know exactly how their labor was to be divided and where each part of the installation would intersect. They were very careful and deliberate about their work. Oskar took obvious pains to carefully place the stove near the wall it was to be vented through, level it, and assemble the stove's extetrior trim and position the fragile ceramic logs inside the unit. He was equally careful not to nick or dent any of the beaded fir applied to the wall that the stove's vent pipe and escutcheon were mounted to--something I appreciated. After a discussion on how the gas to the stove would run, Jim installed the line with a labeled shut-off and tested the connections for leaks. His work was very clean and thorough. After everything was assembled and working to the satisfaction of the two men, Jim took the time to explain how to run-in the stove, explain how it would operate in the case of a power failure, basic maintenance, and how to use the remote in its various modes of operation. He was especially good with any questions I had about the unit. There was only one disappointing experience that I experienced. While boring a hole for the gas line, Jim accidentally nicked a wire supplying power to one of the outlets in the porch wall, shorting it out and rendering it unusable. He informed me of this almost immediately, but did not offer to repair it. Towards the end of the installation, I explained to Jim that I felt this was not acceptable, and that I wanted the line repaired or expected some type of credit applied to the final bill. After an uncomfortable silence, (and I suspect a phone call to the home office), Jim repaired the severed line the correct way with a new box and repair kit, tested the outlet in front of me, and documented this on the work invoice. Aside from this, I was very pleased with the prompt, professional, courteous, and thorough work of Jim and Oskar's installation, and would recommend them.

Ryan is one of those rare multi-talented individuals who is great at both sales and actual installation. He also owns the business or is a son of the owners. <br /> He does it all expertly. He knows the product and installation process so well, there were no surprises. I was very glad he was in charge of our project. All went very smoothly. We are delighted with the warmth and beauty of our new fireplaces. They are definitely helping us get through (and even enjoy) the winter. Our kitty loves it too. <br /> I waited more than six years to undertake this project as I was anxious about having a new gas line installed. But once I found Hearth & Home, I knew I found the right company to do the work. They are top notch. I would definitely recommend to anyone making this great home improvement. <br />

Employees were very informative and professional.

I had a gas fireplace in my family room, and it was useless, if I turn it on it would actually draw hot air from inside the house out to the chimney.  In the past 10 years I lived here, I turned it on for less than 5 times mostly just for show, and for 2 or 3 times I almost burnt my eyebrow lighting it up with a lighter. Last December we finally decided to do something about it , because the family room is an addition and it is too cold in the winter to stay in there.  <br /> I went to Hearth & Home because the rating is good and it is close to where I live, Pat showed me a few options, very thorough and patient, I came home and talked to my wife and decided we'll get a gas insert. It is expensive but worth it, high heat efficiency, remote control with thermostat, a lot of control options. I won't never need to worry about burning my eyebrow again, because it lights up by itself.  <br /> The work was done on time and done well, we are enjoying it every day, kids love it, friends are jealous.  <br /> <br />

salespeople we knowledgable and helpful in helping us make decisions on what logs to buy.  Two set had to be ordered; once ordered they called to set up an appointment for installation.  I wanted the logs in before a big family event and they made sure it happened before that event.  The installers were prompt and clean, explained how to work the sets before they left.

They did a good job. They were very polite and clean.

We had done alot of shopping for a gas stove that had a more realistic wood burning appearance. We were just about to pull the trigger on a Jotul when we wandered into Hearth & Home to do one final comparison. They had a stove from Lopi that was the best that we had seen. The price including installation was a bit higher than the Jotul (and this was including us doing some of the deconstruction work ourselves) but we were really happy with the appearance & functionality so we proceeded. <br /> Unfortunatey, we had some mechanical issues with the new stove after about 7-10 days but Hearth and Home was very responsive to our concerns. They investigated possible causes with the manufacturer and came back out to our home a couple times for adjustments. It was ultimately determined that there was most likely a defect within the unit and it was replaced promptly. We have been enjoying the stove ever since! <br /> We appreciated the follow up and efforts to resolve the issues. We would certainly recommend Hearth and Home and would also work with them again.

I decided to move away from buring wood  to have a gas fireplace system to avoid the trouble and time with buring wood. I visited Hearth and Home and they recommended at vent-free system based on my fireplace setup. They helped me pick out the correct model to fit the space in my fireplace and one that meet by visual and use needs. We scheduled the appointment and they showed up on time, has zero mess, and explained exactly how to use the system. It was a very good experience.

They did an excellent job; quickly and cost effectively.  I do not remember the exact cost for services provided, but I do know that what they quoted is what we paid.  No surprises.

Originally scheduled for 12/21/2011. Received a call on 12/13 that they had an opening on 12/14 if we were interested in having it installed sooner. We agreed - they called when they were 10 minutes out - did an excellent job - cleaned up - explained all the functions and just did a fantastic job. Very happy.

Due to a busy summer, it took us until early September to finally go and purchase a new grill.  Bernie happened to be working in the store that evening and was very knowledgeable and helped us decide on the right replacement.  We received a 10% Angie's List discount with a coupon.  The grill was delivered and set up a few days later. The whole process was smooth and efficient from start to finish.  This company has also installed outdoor gas lamps (including a new gas line) years before at our home.  We continue to be satisfied customers.

The project went very well from the sales support to installation.  I picked out the new cover and the gas logs at their store.  Ed was very knowledgable and offered good suggestions.  A rep came out and did the measurements, order was placed and the install happened  about three weeks later.  Installer was efficient, and kept the workplace clean.  He explained how to work the gas logs.  The new cover looks great. <br /> <br />

They were extremely helpful in picking out the correct fireplace. Even explained that though I have a large living room, the large fireplace unit would be too hot. That saved me money. They did an excellent job on the install. My contractor scratched up the cover that is placed on the edging of the fireplace. When Hearth & Home came in to reset the gas, they repainted the cover on site and it is perfect. They also cleaned the screen and glass front since it was full of drywall dust. Excellent company.

This was a very good experience. I called Hearth and Home, made an appointment, and the guy was there on time. He finished the job in the time alloted and at the price quoted. I would use Hearth and Home again for fireplace work.

The two guys arrived on time (and even called as they were on their way). Any questions I had during the installation were answered. They were here pretty much most of the day, which I had expected. Upon completion of installing the unit, the one said to me "There is one item on backorder, but it should be in within the week". Unfortunately, that was the face plate to finish off the insert. I was not notified of this item being on backorder. I would have waited until they had all parts for installation, as I have 2 cats and I had to put something in front of the insert and workings. Hearth & Home called within 3 days to say the part was in and they could install it that week. (It would only take 10 minutes). Once again, they gave me a time they would be arriving (and the guy called from the car to say he was on his way). He came and it took only the 10 minutes to install. Now it looks terrific.

Overall, the job went well. The team at Hearth & Home is very professional, polite and easy to work with. Based on photographs of the area where I wanted to install the fireplace, the team helped me choose the best unit. They were patient when I took my time choosing the cabinet and tile for the surround and hearth. They did a great job installing the gas fireplace and cleaned up after themselves well. No issues with the running of the electrical line or gas line. The only issue that came up was with the cabinet. The manufacturer sent the wrong size so the cabinet had to be reordered, which took an additional 3 weeks. After the cabinet was installed the installation team realized that the hearth trim hadn't been received. That added an additional 2 weeks to the project, but the finished product is very nice so I am satisfied overall.
