"These folks were great to work with. We were able to advise on how to make their dreams into reality and knowing the products and materials we use as well as the best value-added type work, we strived to produce a finished workproduct of which they could be proud. All our worker's expressed very high regards for the quality of these fine folks. Their supportiveness was most appreciated. We are glad to have met them and welcome them as neighbors."
"Great customer. He had done his homework and knew what he wanted. We just turned his ideas into reality. Pleasure working with them on their project."
"Customer wouldn't return calls made to his cell, home or business so was unable to reach for scheduling. After initial small projects were completed, bowed out on further work."
"Exceptional customer. Had thought out what he wanted in advance. He waited till I was done with the main project I came to do, and then we discussed other projects I could do for him. Emotionally mature and balance individual who understood what it means to work. He will no doubt become a friend."
"[member name removed] is a fiesta, mature women who was a genuine please to meet and work with on several projects. We continue to develop the project scope for her home improvements and look forward to showcasing her home in the near future. So nice to meet other people who are as kind and thoughful as [member name removed] and her sister. Great folks."
"The [member name removed] are a real addition to our community and we were glad to work with them, their budget, and their plans to improve and update their new home. Patient and understanding concerning building code requirements. My team leader, Dan Parks, ran the show as we all got involved. Really great people whom we would always be pleased to serve in the future."
"Member was gracious and kind, accurately describing the issue such that we needed no additional materials after actually seeing the problem. Our technician was in and out in a short amount of time. Would be a pleasure to work with this property owner in the future."
"We said it would take 24 hours. Freezing cold weather, rain and other projects already in process meant spreading the job out. I communicated the changing situations clearly throughout the project and he seemed fine. As he said, he couldn't even get anyone else to help him and yet we did everything he asked, and a little more, despite the weather delays. I worked sick one of the times, and had to leave. I don't normally do this type work personally as I have great people; but I had four people out sick. Don't understand people that are so rigid with everyone else's schedule but God forbid if it were the other way around. You can't please everyone. So, when he dangled a complete bathroom build for his attic and a half-dozen other jobs, we had learned our lesson and turned him down. Why? Because...well you know! I only have to get bitten once to learn from my mistakes and not every customer is the customer I am looking for. Moving forward."
"Thank you for the review. I am not sure what touch up work was referred to as I asked if there was anything else we could do before we cleaned up the last day. As for shortage of personnel, and delays, we experienced an usual number of family and weather emergencies. Not one, but two vehicles broke down and the project leader had to leave town to handle a family medical emergency. As for weather, a passing storm generated winds in excess of 90 mph that destroyed our cabinet-building shop, exposing our equipment , building materials and in-progress projects to the weather. We had to cancel all projects to protect and evacuate everything to an alternate site. We then had to address damage to our own homes. Point: We never gave up but kept going back until the project was completed. The customer and his wife were very patient with us during this time, as we dealt with genuine emergencies. I am grateful for the honest review and promise we will work hard to improve our emergency response procedures, so the customer doesn't feel what impacts us as a small business. Regards, Sam Shorrosh, Owner, Help Around The House"
"Member had a clear idea of what she wanted to accomplish. We were glad she had done so much homework before contracting us to start the work. This allowed us to reduce/eliminate in-progress change orders that would have added cost to the project. We are always appreciative when the homeowner takes the time to do their research and already has a solid idea of what they want. The member was gracious, provided great input, and was prepared for the time and disruptions, which we did our best to mitigate. Lovely couple that we were pleased to assist in making their home a showplace."
"This member was a pleasure to assist. Not only did she ask great, insightful questions, but clearly understood that rare and one-of-a-kind lamps take time and perseverance to restore and/or find original equipment parts. Our subsidiary business, Light Keepers: Lamp Repair, started out as a hobby, and as the member noted, grew into a second line of business. We repair and restore literally hundreds of lamps per year and our chandelier service is growing. A special bonus is that this business opens the opportunity to build relationships that lead to major projects. One more than just a few occasions, repairing a lamp or two has developed into building a large addition to a home, a complete structure remodel, gutting a fire damaged home and rebuilding it, building a three car garage, building a mother-in-law suite onto a house, remodeling 9 separate kitchens, building a dozen decks, adding an enclosed sunroom and patio, remodeling dozens of bathrooms, remodeling two churches, and building a new home on the river. Lamp repairs are an opportunity to interact with history as each one has a story to tell. As we develop relationships with our customers, they come to trust us with their dreams, which we turn into realities. Allow us to repair your keepsake, rare, one-of-a-kind, whimsical, antique, collectible lamp or chandelier. Our low fee plus parts arrangement can't be beat. 90% of our parts are bought from American companies. Keep in mind, we also enjoy converting oil jars and lamps into electric, and turning your object-d'-art into a custom lamp. We've turned bronzed boots, golf clubs, cannon shells, driftwood, sugar containers, even washtubs, into lamps for both indoors or outdoors. My business partner Dan, is a master craftsman/carpenter. Do you have a set of chairs that just say they belong in your home? Dan can build the perfect dining room table, cabinets, armoire, buffet or china cabinet to match. Need to refinish your cabinets to look like driftwood? We can refurbish or refinish even custom build whatever design that complies with the laws of physics and the space allowed. And, you should see what we can do with a poured-concrete deck. Our staining process can make the concrete look like almost anything, from cola stain to a leather look. But don't stop there, let us build you a deck with a custom Pergola cover that will be elegant, functional and distinctive, then have us landscape the yard to match. Our range of abilities is broad but your budget doesn't have to be. Give us a call."
